sincerely hope i live to see the openmorrowind project advance far enough that we get openoblivion and opennewvegas
#3 and nv are close enough that they're#the same project for us“ sorta deal. which i'd be fine with‚ at least above ”fallout 3 is the one that gets priority and we don't get new#vegas for a while#i mean‚ i've seen the forum thread. openoblivion is‚ from what i can tell‚ a distant goal on the horizon for them#and since to my knowledge‚ the oblivion engine is closer to the new vegas engine than it is to the morrowind engine‚ ideally new vegas woul#come more quickly after#though i could also see a world where they Insist on doing fallout 3 first. or at the very least a#but honestly i could not give less of a shit about fallout 3 LOL#it's like new vegas but without almost any of the things that makes new vegas good#world design and therefore fun of exploration? dogshit. writing for both dialogue and quests? dogshit. gameplay? fucking dogshit#i think new vegas is a lot better in terms of gameplay than people give it credit for given how much nicer it feels balance wise#like. in fallout 3‚ i could punch raiders to death with no points in unarmed and empty an entire minigun belt into a super mutant and only#bring the fucker down to half health. enemies were either so pitifully frail as to go down with a stiff breeze or so bullet spongey as to#strain credulity and verisimilitude‚ setting aside how bad it feels#meanwhile in new vegas‚ most enemies pose at least some threat and with proper weapon choice‚ can both kill you and be killed fairly quickl#the gameplay is just a lot quicker due to both how easy it is to die and how easy it is to kill enemies#and honestly i'd be lying if i said that the greater attention to detail with regards to the guns wasn't a significant part of why i like i#more than 3#iirc josh sawyer literally went out and bought a few guns and shot them to make sure he had a good handle on how they work#that's fucking dedication. i cannot respect that enough#honestly i feel like if he hadn't done that‚ i might not have gun autism now#this is a tad personal but new vegas was actually pretty formative for me in a lot of ways‚ since i first played it in middle school#like straight up‚ i didn't really care about guns before i played new vegas. and now look at me!!!#can't wait until i have money tbh. i fully plan on buying an AR and giving it the same furniture as the service rifle in new vegas#wood... wood on guns.... givea me a Big Boaner... figuratively‚ of course#except for the PKM. which incidentally i first found out about from a new vegas mod LOL#if i ever get rich i'm gonna buy a PKM. or pay people to make one for me. i get that that'd probably be even more expensive but god fucking#dammit do i want one soo bad‚ plus if i'm rich i can afford it
