the 2tb hdd i used for basically the last 15 years of data suddenly failed the other day. pretty distraught tbh.
i took it to a data recovery center thing and just diagnosing it was 65usd. now we're looking at anywhere between 100 to 800usd for the recovery of the data (bc of course they refuse to give you a reasonable number beforehand, only that it depends on """complexity"""")
