I keep seeing posts that are like "season 1 Tim would be friends with this character" or "season 1 Tim would make archives team watch trashy movies with him" or "season 1 Tim would do this, or this, and season 1 Tim is so friendly and nice with everyone!". And like. There is nothing wrong with headcanons. But I feel like it's very demonstrative of the larger fandom problem of completely ignoring canon to favour a carefully crafted, wildly spread and completely incorrect fanon.

Because believe it or not, season 1 Tim is.... not like that. When I first listened to TMA, before I had any interactions with the fandom, I didn't perceive him like this. Then I started interacting with the fandom, and I, too, saw this interpretation and said, "Oh! I'll add that to my belief system!". But I recently relistened to season 1, and realised how wrong that was.

Tim is "the hot one." Sure. That's canon, Basira said it in season 2. However, Tim is also an incredibly closed off and secretive person. And actually, canonically, he doesn't have many friends at the Institute. Which makes even more sense than him being friendly with everyone. He arrived at the Institute traumatised by The Stranger of all things, making him very distrustful of everyone. Yes, he became friends with pre-season 1 Jonathan "don't talk to me I'm busy" Sims, but Jon was also a traumatised person who was desperately looking for answers.

Sasha (who, by the way, I find is way too often ignored by the fandom) is the friendly one. Sasha became friends with Tim and Jon, Sasha tried her best to make Martin feel accepted in the Archives, Sasha is the nosy one who gets into everyone's business. Not Tim.

"Kai's good with kids!" slightly incorrect. Kai is good with stubborn, troublesome kids. Dudes been shown to be dogshit when solely interacting with pretty much all people younger than him except for Nya, Lloyd, & Wyldfyre

He raised Nya, but we know that girl. We've seen her. I know she was a NIGHTMARE kid. She has strong opinions, holds grudges, and does whatever she wants. I love her for this. I also know teenage Kai was fighting for his LIFE. Lloyd was Little Shit Extraordinaire, and he didn't have the bonus of being blood-related to Kai, so Kai had 0 incentive to like him. Even still, Kai heard a small child in distress and immediately Locked In and decided awesome, I'm protecting you forever now. Wyldfyre similarly annoyed the absolute shit out of him, but Kai had his Growth. He still threw hands with Wyldfyre but the difference here is he knew she could fight back. He clocked pretty immediately she had an impatient temper but had a very strong love for her tiny family of 2 (oh hey s1 Kai when'd you get here) and in NO time began flawlessly mentoring.

Kai is like a guy who went to a camp for troubled youths, grew up, then decided to become a counselor at that same camp. He can wrangle a teenage dirtbag out of an alley like a stray cat but if you put him in the same room as a fairly normal kid he's looking at them like this

luckyscent and scentsplit are your best bet for samples IMO. always always always get a little sample before you break out the big guns! the samples are also usually pretty cheap, you get a tiny vial for usually around $4-7 USD.

once you have a scent you know you like, there's all sorts of places you can get full bottles. manufacturers often have their own online shops to purchase from.

if you want to go in-person, beauty shops like sephora and ulta beauty have both perfumes and testers. discount stores like marshall's and tj maxx often sell perfume at a discounted price, but i've never seen testers there, so tread carefully if you haven't smelled it before! more locally, there may be smaller boutiques and perfumeries in your area.

my final word of advice: don't buy from amazon, as amazon has a notoriously bad problem with counterfeit cosmetics. even if you're buying directly from the manufacturer's amazon shop, the real bottles usually end up being mixed in with the counterfeits.

Splatoon's currency in JP is also called "G", but a handful of times its confirmed the "G" is short for Geso (they've also used Gesocoin, that's probably what a singular coin is called??). geso means tentacle btw. G is to Geso like $ is to Dollar. There is not a lot of times in JP where its called "Geso" instead of just G, and all the examples i can think of are in still JP-only materials. I've been hoping they'd like. tell us what the G is short for in english.

Sorry for the typo. I meant to say "it makes sense Noelle can lift" before I was possessed by the demons that make me analyze Noelle. I just think it's neat to picture her picking Kris up to move them like they don't weigh anything. And even picking up Susie, but that would take her real effort.

I knew what you meant, no worries! I also get taken by the demons of character analysis, it's terminal and there is no cure.

As for picturing Noelle picking up Kris with ease... I had thoughts.
