Tumblr media
her thighs are hugged tightly around your hips, tongue delving deep into your mouth despite the fact that she can barely keep her mouth shut from the pleasure coursing up her spine and down her legs.
she hasn’t been able to lay back and get fucked this good in a while, and god is it a relief for her. in fact, she was rather mean about it. firstly acting stand-offish with snarky remarks, and then proceeding to guilt trip you for “not loving her anymore.”
it was all dramatics, and you both knew that. but it didn’t keep you from sauntering over to her, hips swaying in that seductive way jinx can’t tear her eyes away from, and immediately dragging her into the bedroom. what you didn’t quite expect—though looking back you should’ve—was to have her bossing you around to make you fuck her instead, throwing her strap in your face.
“shit—” she sighs sharply, head falling back against the pillow and her face screwing up when you angle to hit that spot just right.
her hands cling to your back desperately, nails occasionally biting into your skin as she moans at the feeling of the strap’s girth sliding against her sensitive walls. she pants against crook of your neck, biting her lip in attempt to muffle her loud moans in fear of losing some of her dignity. but her eyes can barely stay open with how deliciously full she feels, and having her pussy finally get the attention it needed has her feeling borderline dumbstruck.
her brows furrow in frustration, and suddenly she lets out a noise somewhere between a whine and a grunt, and you feel her legs shift and tighten around you.
“c’monn~, y-you can go faster than that.” she complains, hands traveling up and grabbing onto your shoulder blades and looking down at the—in her opinion—boring pace you’re going at.
“you’re supposed to be making me cum, remember?” she sneers, hips wiggling beneath you.
you pull your face away from jinx’s neck and frown at her. “i’ll go at whatever pace i want. fucking behave.” you reprimand, giving a particularly harsh snap of your hips against her’s causing her to let out a yelp.
you’re grabbing onto her thighs and shoving them off to the sides, ignoring jinx’s pout when they’re forced to unwrap from around your hips. “if you want me faster then keep your legs open.” you order. because you know that if you don’t jinx will cling to you in any way possible to get you closer and deeper, but you need the room.
“hmph, fine.” she mumbles, eyes rolling.
dipping back down and placing a kiss below her ear, you finally pick up the pace. fucking jinx hard and deep into the mattress just the way she likes it. and she’s immediately responding accordingly.
you’re not surprised to feel her hands sliding down to your hips to substitute her legs, tugging on them as a silent beg for you to go deeper and harder. obediently keeping her legs spread wide for you, her breath comes out faster and more laboured against your neck, her noises now getting progressively louder and more frequent.
“mmfuck thats better. feels so good.” she moans lowly, arms wrapping around your back, wanting to hold you close while you make her feel good. you scoff airily.
“now you wanna be sweet.” you say, huffing and puffing from the effort jinx keeps forcing out of you. you think one day she’ll be the death of you, literally. but you also want to satisfy her by making her feel good the way she wants to.
“at least say thank you.” your voice is a scowl in her ear. you keep yours close to her lips, waiting for those two words to be uttered for you think you deserve to hear them. instead, all you get is heavy panting and choked moans melting past her dark lips.
you pull away just slightly. “i’ll just fucking stop if you wanna be a brat like that—”
“NO!” jinx shouts, shooting her arms out in a panic to pull you back down. you watch her in bemusement while she bites back a whine, face twisting in an almost pained frown. “th-thank you..”
“see, there you go~,” you drawl, “wasn’t so hard, was it jinx?” you then start giving it to her harder. the sound of skin slapping against skin, the lewd squelching of the dildo plunging into her messy pussy over and over and her increasingly louder cries bouncing off the walls of the bedroom.
the sound of her name coming from you, so hoarse and breathy from the efforts of fucking her so hard and so well, makes her pussy flutter around the girth of the toy. you swear you can feel it.
“don’t stop please, i’m so close!” jinx cries, her breath hot against your skin while she hides her face in your neck, shaky thighs threatening to close against your sides. her hands claw at you in desperation, as if she’s climbing to reach her release. and soon enough she gets just what she wants.
her body rocks against the mattress with every rough thrust into her. and after a couple good hard pounds into her needy hole, her pussy is contracting around the toy, cuming hard around the thick girthy strap. raspy moans ripping from her throat and nails scratching into your back while she rides the high of her orgasm.
“hah.. holy fuck, babe.” jinx’s walls pulsate and flutter in response to the prolonged thrusts, sensitive and overstimulated. she squirms and grabs at your hip to halt you and you slow down, kissing and nibbling up the column of her neck while she catches her breath, forehead resting against your shoulder.
you pull back gently. “y’took that well, babe.” you praise her sweetly, trailing your kisses up to her face and stoping with a peck to her nose. you giggle down at her fucked out face, her limbs looking like they’re made out of jello now.
her fluttering eyelids close for a moment before opening and looking up at you again. a hunger you thought was satiated is now back, and you fear it is at full force. jinx tugs at your hips.
“i think i need you to go again. didn’t feel much the first time.” she smirks, blue eyes twinkling with cunningness.

Tumblr media
The first thing you saw when you unlocked your phone this morning was a text from Jungkook. That in itself was weird—he wasn’t the type to be up this early, let alone texting people.
jaykay (work) [8:50am]: hi :)
you [8:50am]: oh my god. what did you forget?
jaykay (work)  [8:51am]: have some faith in me. i was texting for something entirely different. 😒
you[8:51am]: are you sick? held hostage? blink twice if you need help.
jaykay (work) [8:52am]: how da hell are u so dramatic in the morning
you [8:52am]: come to the point jungkook
jaykay [8:52am]: fine. 🙄 don’t bring lunch today
you [8:53am]: why?
jaykay (work) [8:53am]: lunch is on me. taking you, shane and mingyu out for ramen
you [8:53am]: 🤨🤨🤨
jaykay (work) [8:54am]: see you in office🥰
You squinted at the screen, trying to process the words through your morning haze. This man barely made it to work before noon on most days, always breezing in with an iced americano and a sheepish grin. And yet here he was, awake and making lunch plans at 9 AM? Suspicious. Very suspicious.
It’s fixed, you know? Him being late to work, getting sarcastic remarks from the bosses - Natasha, the reporting manager (god did she love micromanaging the team) and Kim Song, the director of your company.
But whatever, free ramen was free ramen and, on that note, you finally woke up and went to get ready for the weird day that was ahead of you.
Tumblr media
By the time you got to the office, the usual chaos had already begun. Natasha, wasn’t physically present today, thank the lord for that, you thought, but her presence loomed over Zoom calls like a dark cloud. You had barely set down her bag before her laptop screen lit up with an incoming call. Does this woman ever chill?
“Good morning, team,” Natasha’s clipped voice rang out as the screen loaded. “Let’s go over the deliverables for today.” Her screen was hidden and she was on a holiday like she had very explicitly mentioned the week before she left.
You suppressed a groan as you saw Jungkook and Mingyu joining the call too. Shane, their CS intern, looked half-asleep. Jungkook, though, was oddly quiet, his usual playful banter nowhere to be seen. His leg bounced under the desk, fingers drumming against the tabletop.
You shot him a look, but he didn’t meet your eyes.
Okay that was weird, wasn’t it?
You looked towards Mingyu and Shane to see if they noticed Jungkook being a little off today but to your surprise they were engrossed on what Natasha was instructing on the upcoming event which was the luxurious Cartier dinner.
Classic Natasha, putting her work on us while she sips on pina coladas on the beach after this 10-minute meeting. You wanted to be as carefree as her sometimes, how easily she just threw her tasks on others.
Throughout the meeting, you couldn’t help but steal glances at Jungkook which thankfully he didn’t notice.
Or at least that’s what you thought.
Jungkook knew you. He knew how curious you got sometimes and he also knew currently the wheels were turning in your head wondering why he was being so awkward. He smiled internally, thinking how much you knew him and how much he was going to miss you.
If you kept looking at him like that, he was going to crack. He just hoped you wouldn’t figure it out before he told you himself.
Once the meeting was over, you quickly went towards the design studio in the office, greeting Yuna and So-hee who seemed like had just come to office with the way they were switching on their systems for the day.
“I really need the final design renders for the stage setup and the seating plan for Cartier, Yuna,” You said worried knowing that if you don’t get these renders in next half an hour then the costing would delay and then Natasha…yeah no.
Its as if Jungkook got a sign, he entered the design studio greeting Yuna, So-hee, and Dae and standing next to you as if to ease the tension you had going on.
“Babe, give me 10 minutes, the renders are ready. I’ll email it to you, Natasha and Namjoon,” Yuna said as she started working on her system. You nodded your head and gave her a worried smile.
“Mark me in the email too,” Jungkook said instantly and you gave him a pointed look. Yuna seemed to mirror your thoughts and raised her eyebrows towards him.
Seeing that you both were confused, Jungkook chuckles and says, “__, you should be happy that I am willingly asking to be marked on emails,” which makes you roll your eyes playfully and smirk.
“Also, I don’t have nothing big going on currently, project wise, so I’ll follow up for the costings and Natasha will stay away from my ass,” Jungkook continues and laughs with Yuna, So-hee and Dae.
You looked at him as he was sort of back in his carefree self but something still felt off. You just couldn’t put your finger on what this feeling was.
Tumblr media
Lunch couldn’t come fast enough. The second Natasha’s second call for the day wrapped up the call, you shut your laptop and turned towards Jungkook who along with Mingyu and Shane was joking and was waiting for you to get done.
“Okay, spill. What’s with the mystery since today morning?” You immediately asked him and he couldn’t help but chuckle nervously.
Mingyu slung an arm around Jungkook’s shoulders, grinning. “Yeah, dude. You’re making me nervous.”
Shane, ever the observer, just raised a brow. “Is this about work? God I can’t wait to dig into some good ramen after hearing Natasha ramble since past 15 mins. 15 mins with her feel like 2 hours,” Shane continued rambling earning laughs from the three of you.
Jungkook let out a breath, running a hand through his hair. “Let’s just get to lunch first.”
That didn’t help your growing suspicion, but you let it slide—at least until the 4 of you reached the ramen place.
The aroma of rich broth and sizzling garlic filled the tiny ramen shop. Shane and Mingyu were already practically vibrating with hunger, menus discarded, ready to order. You, however, were still scanning the options, your stomach rumbling in anticipation. Just as you were about to decide, you and Jungkook spoke in unison: “Japchae.”
A surprised laugh bubbled up. “You wanna have japchae too?” you asked, a little thrill of connection sparking despite the weirdness of the morning. He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips, and ordered for both of you.
Minutes later, steaming bowls of ramen and the shared plate of japchae arrived. The savory scent made your mouth water. You took a tentative bite of the japchae, the noodles perfectly chewy, the vegetables crisp and flavorful. It was delicious. But Jungkook just sat there, chopsticks hovering over his bowl. He had a strange expression—not quite annoyed, but… something. You knew that look. It was his tell when food was exceptionally good. That’s just his weird trait.
You took the second bite yourself to see if it was and it was really good.
“I got another job.”
Silence.
Your stomach dropped.
Then, Mingyu blinked. “Wait, what?”
Jungkook shifted in his seat, avoiding their gazes. “I got an offer from an event company. They handle production for A-list musicians—concerts, world tours, all of it.” But you could see how proud he was. This was his dream.
“Oh, shit, that’s huge,” Shane said, eyes wide and dramatically keeping his chopsticks on the side.
Jungkook looked at you trying to gauge for your reaction.
You swallowed, gripping your chopsticks a little tighter. “Wow. That’s… incredible, Jungkook.” You said genuinely but why did it feel so off? Why did it feel like you were losing everything? People leave jobs all the time and this is no different, so why was it feeling all to different suddenly?
When you congratulated him, you meant it. You really did. He deserved this. But there was a weird, hollow feeling in your chest. Something tight that you couldn’t quite name.
Jungkook was watching you and asked, “You okay?”
You forced a smile but to everyone it looked genuine. “Of course. This is a big deal. I am so happy for you, Jungkook!” Mingyu and Shane mirrored your smile and congratulated him to which Jungkook threw an honest smile.
His eyes still lingered for a second longer before he nodded, turning his attention back to his food. But you could tell he didn’t fully believe you.
Mingyu and Shane immediately started asking him the questions about his new company and the new job and Jungkook excitedly answered them all and you were interested too to know all the details.
Once the 4 of you were done with the lunch, you asked him, “So when are you telling Natasha?”
“Next week, and then 2 weeks’ notice,” He said looking at you as if he was trying to find an emotion out of you.
“Damn bro, you are leaving us so soon.” Shane said and you looked at Jungkook.
“Now at least I will have some proper desk space at the office,” You tried to joke which earned you a playful eye roll from Jungkook.
“Oh my god, I have to plan a farewell party for you now,” Mingyu joked and you laughed. For the whole lunch, this is the first time Jungkook noticed you genuinely smiling and it was all thanks to Mingyu’s dramatic nature.
Tumblr media
The rest of the workday felt strangely off-balance. Even though nothing had technically changed yet, you felt the weight of the upcoming shift pressing down on you. The knowledge that soon, Jungkook wouldn’t be here anymore—wouldn’t be there to roll his eyes at Natasha’s ridiculous demands, wouldn’t be crashing at her desk with an iced coffee and a new piece of gossip, wouldn’t be around to share those unspoken glances when things got too absurd.
You had started hating how much that realization unsettled you.
It was Jungkook who got you out of your dazed thoughts when he said, “___, I have asked Namjoon hyung for the Cartier costing and he is working on it,”
You threw a sincere smile towards him and nodded while he went back on his desk and worked on some small projects he had going on.
gyu (work) [3pm]: are you okay?
Once you read the text, you immediately looked at him but he acted to be so engrossed in his work and you couldn’t help but look back into your phone and text back
you [3:01pm]: yeah, why?
gyu (work) [3:01pm]: you sure about that? ever since jk dropped that bomb, you have been quiet and so has he.
That got your attention. Were you that obvious?
you [3:02pm]: no nothing like that. im happy that he got this. he deserves it!! also when is the blue label bottle engraving costing going to the client? natasha has been on my ass about it since morning. send it asap please <33
gyu [3:03pm]: girl i gotta give it to you, nice attempt to change the convo but we aren’t done yet. ugh why are you my senior? im sending it in 5
By the time the day ended and finally the costings for Cartier had gone out (thanks to Jungkook and Joon), you had convinced yourself you were just being dramatic. People left jobs all the time. This wasn’t a big deal. It shouldn’t be a big deal.
Mingyu and Shane had already left for the day and the design studio was also empty leaving only you and Jungkook in the client servicing department. For a Monday, people had left earlier than usual, you thought to yourself.
You looked at the clock and saw it was 7pm already.
While you packed your bags, like routine, Jungkook waited for you. He dropped you home everyday given that you both lived nearby and your apartment came on the way to his.
However, the silence between the two of you felt heavier than usual.
“You’re quiet,” he finally said as the two of you entered the elevator.
You forced a laugh and adjusted your purse, trying to look anywhere but at him. “So are you.”
The two of you exited the elevator and sat in his car, he started the engine. For the first time ever, the silence between the two of you was uncomfortable.
Jungkook sighed, drumming his fingers against the steering wheel as he took the familiar route and said, “Are you really happy for me?”
You immediately turned to look at him, meeting his gaze in the dim glow of the streetlights. “Yes, I am. Why would you think I am not?”
His smile was small, a little sad. “Alright. You and I haven’t spoken much since lunch,”
You didn’t know why, but something in your chest ached at that. But you ignored it,  and looking towards and giving him a smile and said, “Jungkook, I am so happy for you. I am. I know you wanted this and now you have it,”
For the first time in the whole day, he smiled genuinely at you.
“Will you miss me?,” He asked as he stopped the car right out of your apartment and looked at you with his doe eyes that carry the sta-
Wait what?!
You ignored whatever that thought was and quickly composed yourself and laughed at him. “You wish I would miss you,” You joked playfully and he rolled his eyes.
“On a serious note, yes I will. Who will I tolerate Natasha with?” You continued and he let out a small chuckle.
“Anyway I have to go. See you tomorrow boss,” you finally said, and then you were gone, disappearing into the building.
Jungkook sat there for a moment, staring after you.
He knew you better than you thought. He knew when you were genuinely happy, when you were just pretending, when you were holding back something you didn’t want to say. And tonight, you were definitely holding back.
Jungkook sighed, leaning his head back against the car seat. Leaving this job was supposed to be exciting, a step up, an opportunity of a lifetime. And it was.
But why did it feel like he was losing something, too?

Between Teeth, Between Claws, Between Them - Chapter 3 - Leona Kingscholar x Reader x Ruggie Bucchie
Another one in the span of a week? It's more likely than you'd think. If you haven't read the first chapter, you can find it here.
(As usual: This fic is a little suggestive, but not outright explicit, reader discretion is advised)
(Link to AO3: Between Teeth, Between Claws, Between Them - Angel_Ashido - Twisted-Wonderland (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own])
༺═────────────═༻
Having both Ruggie and Leona in your broken down, health-hazard of a lounge felt as though you had hammered three random jigsaw pieces together. Leona, a prince, Ruggie, an urchin, and you, the one who was kinda-sorta-definitely crushing on them. Nothing about the situation made immediate sense.
“This place is pretty rough, even for my standards,” Ruggie said, looking around the room’s best features (cobwebs, more cobwebs, and what your lungs really hoped wasn’t black mold).
Still, somewhat defensive over your domain, you shot back, “It’s a work in progress. My bedroom’s way cleaner, so it’s not like it’s bothering me too much.”
“Your bedroom?” Ruggie’s eyes caught alight with a spark of something. “You’ll have to give me the grand tour sometime.”
The implication hit you with the impact of a bag of bricks, making your arms bristle.
You turned on your heel, ignoring Ruggie’s snickering, and grabbed the stack of photos you had taken at their Spelldrive practice.
“Here,” you said, handing them to Leona. “The best of the bunch. I’ll email you the files so you can pass them onto the magazine.”
Leona’s eyes slid towards his dorm-fellow. “Send them to Ruggie, so that he can forward them to the coach. He’s the member of the faculty coordinating the whole thing.”
“Shouldn’t I just give them to Vargas, then?”
He shrugged, shuffling through the pictures at a leisure-filled pace. “No need to bother yourself.”
Was adding the middle-man some kind of power thing? In the strange little arrangement that you had, you would be the bottom of the pecking order. It definitely seemed like Leona and Ruggie had a thing going on before they became interested in you, though the depth of that prior relationship was difficult to ascertain.
Regardless, Leona wielded power over both you and Ruggie in a way that never failed to thrill you.
Looking at Leona, sprawled out across the rickety old sofa, you felt an urge to act. You wanted to enter his personal space, to be accepted into it, and to see how far he was willing to go. You wanted to find the line and firmly plant yourself at its edge.
“These look good. Well done, herbivore.” The corners of Leona’s mouth curved. “We owe you one.”
Politeness urged you to tell him, “No worries,” but the building something in your gut clawed at those words until they were no more.
Instead, you told Leona, “I’ll keep that in mind.”
His body shifted, ears angling towards where you stood. He liked that.
“C’mere,” he commanded, a little more grit to his tone than usual.
You obeyed without a single thought, feet guiding you to stand before him.
“You seem pretty worked up. Feeling alright?”
He sized you up with those emerald eyes, dark and vast, so deep you felt you could dive into them.
You felt as though your legs might start trembling, yet you said, “I feel fine.”
“Really now? Why don’t you come a little closer and see if that changes?”
From the one-seater, Ruggie watched the two of you, transfixed.
You held your breath until it burned, taking a small step forward.
“Closer.”
Another step.
“Closer.”
Your knees bumped against the edge of the sofa. For a fleeting moment, you felt the warmth of his body against your thighs.
“Closer.”
“I’m as close to you as I can go,” you protested.
He looked up at you, still lounging like nothing in the world could disturb him. “Get creative.”
You glanced at Ruggie, who seemed utterly mesmerised by the scene playing out in front of him. His pupils were so small that his eyes looked like two puddles on a cloudless day. It was as though he was witnessing magic for the first time.
In a somewhat awkward motion, you clambered over him, shifting until you were sitting on his lap. He remained fully reclined, though his face beamed with amusement.
Emboldened by your own actions, you issued your own decree. “Your turn. Get closer to me, Leona.”
His eyelids fluttered down, turning his expression into something soft and making your stomach swoop. Slowly, punctuated by the creaking of the sofa, he raised himself into a sitting position, anchored down by your steady weight in his lap.
Your faces were close together - so close that he filled your vision, becoming impossible to escape.
“What do you want?” Leona asked you, voice low, tickling the insides of your ears and filling your head with cotton. The puff of his breath tickled your cheek as you turned your head to the side, considering.
“I…”
“Say it,” Leona urged.
There was a sense of desperation to him. He was dishing out the orders, yet he was starving, craving the same things that you longed for.
You could deny him, but why would you? This was inevitable. Since you grew an interest in Leona Kingscholar, you were destined to end up in this position.
“I want to feel your lips on mine. I want you to hold me. And then I want you to do it again, and again, and again.”
His arms encircled your waist, enveloping you in the constant heat that radiated from him. Leona might think himself the prince of disaster and ruin, but to you, he embodied nothing but the rays of the morning sun and safety.
Light filtered in through the windows of Ramshackle, framing him in gold - it would make a beautiful picture, you thought.
With that final picture of him held safely in your mind, you closed your eyes and pressed your lips to his.
Leona’s body tensed against yours as he pushed against your kiss, chasing every ounce of adoration that you had to give him. You pressed into him at every chance you got, feeling like everything was finally right.
His pace was slow, yet thorough, exploring every possibility that the kiss held. When his tongue traced the seam of your mouth you opened, letting him search uncharted depths.
While you relished every second of the kiss, you were painfully aware of Ruggie, who you could feel watching your every move.
When you reached a point of light-headed breathlessness you drew back to suck in a deep breath, not missing the way that Leona chased you out of sheer instinct.
Your chest heaved, face beyond red after the whole affair. Leona was faring better than you were, but he was far from unaffected. There was a feral quality to him, like he was fighting every aspect of himself that wanted to take things further. His gaze was wild as he panted, sharp teeth on display.
Once you had both started to settle, Leona spoke the words you were longing to hear: “Why don’t you throw him a bone and give Ruggie a taste?”
You couldn’t stifle your desire, as it manifested into a thoroughly embarrassing whine.
“Oh? You like that?” Leona teased, bringing his face forward and resting it against the crook of your neck.
Something about that gesture felt more intimate than anything you had done so far; he was almost bowing to you, pressing his nose against your pulse point.
He pulled his head back, and called Ruggie over. The hyena scampered to the two of you like he had been waiting his whole life for it. Ever the obedient one, Ruggie stood, red-faced and waiting for orders.
You waited too, but they never came. Leona was looking at you expectantly.
They were both waiting for you. Waiting for you to offer yourself up.
Calling forward the audacity that allowed you to straddle Leona Kingscholar, you looked to Ruggie.
“Kiss me. Now, please.”
“I’d be honoured to, kitten,” Ruggie chirped, looking like the cat that got the cream.
He was quick, urgent, as he lunged forward. You didn’t get the chance to move before his mouth was on yours, hurtling you into an utterly shameless exchange.
Where Leona was slow and precise in his movements, Ruggie was quick and constant, lips moving at a dizzying pace. It was a messy, rushed kiss, but a dizzying one all the same.
The sounds of the kiss fueled the beginnings of shame in your stomach, as Leona watched from his front row seat. One minute, you were kissing him, and the next it was someone else…
You felt a cocktail of emotions at that; it was thrilling, shameful, and utterly tantalising.
Ruggie broke the kiss so that he could pepper your face with short presses of his lips. The barrage of affection made your heart swell; Leona would never do something like that, yet by having both Ruggie and Leona involved in your life, you could get the best of both worlds.
By the time he stopped his ceaseless assault, you were laughing uncontrollably under him, due to the kisses being both ridiculous and ticklish.
“Show some restraint, Ruggie,” Leona drawled.
Ruggie laughed and then nuzzled into your cheek. “I can’t help it - our kitten is just the sweetest little thing. So docile and cute~”
You rolled your eyes, but welcomed the feeling of him against your face. Both boys were unlike anybody you had ever met before. Being passed between them was an unexpected end to your night, but a welcome one all the same.

Bachelors (sdv) x gn!reader
Bachelors and self-harm comfort
TW mentions of Self Harm and suicidal ideation.
If you struggle with either of these, I strongly encourage you to reach out to someone and get help. You are not alone.
These are not super graphic, but definitely more graphic than my other fics if you have read those. So please read with caution.
These are all assuming you are in an established relationship.
Sam
• This was a long standing issue for you. You knew Sam would find out eventually one way or another, so you made it a point to tell him rather then him accidentally finding out.
• But when you did tell him, it was pure panic.
• He doesn't know how to help you, he didn't know how he never noticed! Does he tell anyone? Does he call anyone? Why didn't you tell him until now??
• Once he gathers himself a little bit, he asks for more details.
• He knows that you need him, and not to make it about him by breaking down.
• He starts keeping an extra eye out for if you are acting any different, or if he sees any warning signs.
• He tries really hard to be there for you, and knows he won't be perfect.
• Makes a trip to Harvey's to ask how to help 'someone' who struggles with sh and suicidal ideation.
• Harvey suggested that Sam brings that 'someone' to the clinic with him to have a little chat.
• You and Sam head down one day and you all make a plan on what to do when things get really bad.
• Mostly involves extra support, and you getting into a therapist on a semi-regular basis.
Sebastian
• Sebastian I think would be the most aware of the signs besides Harvey?
• So when he sees you avoiding him a bit, or not letting him touch you when normally you're all over him, he knows something is wrong.
• "Babe, whats up?" He gentle grabs your arm. "What's wrong? You've been acting different for a while now. Are you okay?"
• He isn't accusatory or anything when you tell him. He just pulls you into a tight hug.
• He just wants to be there for you. Self Harm is a really difficult topic, both to experience, and to witness. He tries to get to the cause of why you do it, but you honestly don't even know.
• You know you shouldn't, but sometimes it feels like all you can do.
• After talking about it for a long time, you eventually go to sleep in his arms.
• When you wake up, he already had some sort of breakfast made because he knew you'd be too tired.
• He left out some super old books about mental health he had (Aka like one from high school) and offered to look through them with you.
• Checks in with you frequently, and isn't one to dance around the topic. Yes, he handles it gently and shocking calmly, but he knows you can't avoid talking about it.
Alex
• Not going to lie, the way I see a relationship progressing (Aka kinda intense and fast paced) he would find out before intimacy.
• You were already a little nervous so you completely blanked on your old scars and relatively new self harm.
• So when he saw, you panicked, and then he panicked because you were panicking, and all around it was chaos.
• Nothing went to plan that day because you just ran to the bathroom to cry.
• ...
• He knocked on the door, "babe.. Could you come out please? We should talk about this."
• "I don't want to"
• " Babe come on." He tried the handle and it opened.
• "It's okay. You're okay. I'm not mad, now can you talk to me about this?"
• You opened up and told him everything. With Alex being the most stereotypically attractive out of all the Bachelor's, you'd be very nervous about letting him see scars.
• But he doesn't care. He thinks they are proof of how strong you are and how far you have come.
• "Babe I just want to be here for you. We don't have to rush anything. I don't care if you have scars, you're beautiful. I love you, and you will get through this."
Harvey
• Harvey finds out during your first physical.
• This I feel would be just after you started dating.
• But he asks the dreaded question of "have you had thoughts of hurting yourself or others?"
• You knew you had to tell him. No matter how awkward or emotionally taxing it got, it was important both in your relationship and for your personal health.
• So you did.
• He let his little doctor mask slip because he thought he already knew all your medical business, and that this was just a formality.
• "Dear..?" He looked so sad for you. "Why haven't you told me this?"
• Legit starts tearing up, because how on earth could you hate yourself? And to the point of hurting yourself?
• You start apologizing for not telling him sooner, "Harvey we had just started dating, I didn't want to put too much on you too soon. This is my problem to deal with!"
• And then he takes a few deep breaths, and collects himself to do this in a more professional manner.
• "My love, you do not have to go through this alone. I need you to tell me if you ever feel like.. hurting yourself. Okay? Call me. Call the clinic. Get me if I'm home. I will be there for you."
• "Even if we weren't dating, I would still be there for you! So no matter how much I care for you, because I so deeply care for you, this is my job."
• Sets you up with a therapist in the city, because he knows that even if you know you can talk to him, it's good to have a non-personal professional to be able to talk to.
Shane
• You helped him, now it was his turn to help you.
• Found out a morning he woke up early and you forgot to close the bathroom door. Not a fun scene to wake up to.
• I don't want to say he got angry, but he shouted,
• "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?"
• It was more out of sheer panic and distress rather than anger.
• You panicked, dropped everything, and basically burst into tears on the spot apologizing.
• Then he freaked out even more because he yelled at you and ran to give you a tight hug.
• Shane tried to calm you down, but it took a really long time to get you to stop hyperventilating.
• Eventually, he helped you clean everything up, and although it was really hard for you, he took you to Harvey's.
• Shane knew that he wouldn't be able to give you all the help you needed, he was still recovering himself.
• But he tries really hard to help, the same way you do with him.
• He helped you set up going to a therapist. You go to the same office as he does.
• He will be there for you every step of the way. Won't let you go.
• He truly understands, and just wants the both of you to feel better.
Elliott
• He would feel guilty for not noticing the signs.
• "My love..?" He is just so confused when he sees. "My love what did you do?"
• Doesn't exactly panic but is just dumbfounded. How could you hate yourself? How could you not like yourself? Why on earth..?
• He helps you clean up, though is a little queezy with blood.
• He would keep himself relatively strong in front of you, but you hear him crying for you when he thinks you're asleep.
• He is there for you, he asks Leah because he trusts her (though would not actually bring up your name. Would make it under the guise of a situation in his book)
• He wouldn't invade your privacy. But he just would check with you a lot more.
• He loves you, and just wants to see you love yourself.
An* Once again, if you struggle with self harm or suicidal ideation, please reach out for help. Helplines and resources are a quick Google away for your area. You are not alone. I promise things will get better.

Bakugou was annoying. That was the one word you’d use to describe him— though it hardly seemed enough to capture the sheer exasperation he stirred in you. The journey to Niniel’s Veil should have been the easy part, a straightforward trek across familiar terrain before delving into the real danger that awaited in the Veil’s depths. The path was well-charted, the landscape mostly predictable, and you had the map etched into your memory. By all accounts, this leg of the journey should have been smooth sailing, the calm before the storm. But Bakugou knew exactly how to rile you up, turning even the simplest task into a battle of wills.
“We're moving too slow!” Bakugou’s voice, sharp and demanding, cut through the quiet morning air. “If we keep dragging our feet, we’ll take weeks to get to Niniel’s Veil.”
“The risk is going through ogre territory,” you replied, trying to keep your voice even. “We do not want to use our resources on a big fight like that.”
“Karshoj Arnahk.” Bakugou spat the words, frustration etched in every syllable. You knew enough Draconic to recognize it as an expletive, something along the lines of “for fuck sake.” He was losing patience. He didn’t have time to argue with some prissy mapmaker. “We can take them and get to Niniel’s Veil quicker.”
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest, the map in your hand crinkling slightly. “Or we could avoid them entirely and save ourselves the trouble. Not every fight needs to be fought, especially when there’s a safer way around!”
It didn’t help that he was constantly questioning your decisions, his deep voice laced with scepticism every time you suggested a route that didn’t involve charging headlong into danger. You could see the distaste in his eyes when you advocated for the safer, slower path, as if he considered it a personal affront to his abilities. It was infuriating. Here you were, with years of experience under your belt, and this hot-headed barbarian had the audacity to second-guess you at every turn.
The two of you stood at a crossroads— literally and figuratively— each staring the other down with a mixture of stubbornness and conviction that crackled in the air like a brewing storm. Your gazes locked, neither willing to concede an inch, the tension between you palpable. The rest of the group lingered a few paces back, caught between amusement at the spectacle and concern over what it might mean for the journey ahead. You could sense their unease, their nervous glances exchanged behind your backs, but no one dared to intervene. They knew better than to step into the middle of a clash between two such strong-willed personalities, especially when both of you seemed determined to win this battle of wills.
Kirishima shifted his weight, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. “They’ve been at it all morning. Think we should step in?”
Denki shrugged, a small grin playing on his lips. “Eh, let ’em go at it. It’s kinda entertaining, don’t you think? I’ve never seen anyone stand up to Bakugou like that.”
“Yeah, but we’re not making any progress like this,” Sero added, glancing between you and Bakugou. “If they keep arguing, we’ll be stuck here all day.”
Kirishima frowned, his gaze flicking to Bakugou. “He’s just worried about time. You know how he is— always pushing forward, no matter what.”
“True, but our guide’s got a point,” Denki chimed in. “I’d rather not get into a brawl with ogres if we can avoid it. Those guys don’t mess around.”
Mina nodded, her eyes on you as you squared off with Bakugou. “I think they’ll figure it out. They’re both stubborn, but they’re not stupid. Hopefully.”
Bakugou’s voice broke through the murmur of the group, his frustration boiling over. “If you’re so scared of a fight, maybe you shouldn’t be leading us in the first place!”
You bristled at the insult, taking a step closer, your eyes narrowing. “Scared? I’m being practical! It’s called strategy, you dimwit. You don’t just charge in blindly and hope for the best.”
It's not that you were averse to fights— far from it. You understood the value of brute force, and there were times when a show of strength was exactly what the situation called for. But in your mind, there was always a safer, more calculated path to take. One that didn’t involve charging headfirst into danger or risking unnecessary harm. Brute force might solve problems quickly, but a well-thought-out strategy could avoid them altogether, or at the very least, mitigate the risks.
For all his bluster, Bakugou wasn’t reckless— at least, not in the way you’d initially thought. He was driven, yes, and often too eager to prove himself, but there was a method to his madness. He wasn’t just charging into battle for the thrill of it; he was doing it because he believed it was the fastest, most efficient way to get the job done. And in his own twisted way, he was looking out for the group, even if his methods were more brute force than finesse.
Still, that didn’t make him any less annoying.
“Strategy?” He scoffed, crossing his arms in a mirror of your own stance. “Your ‘strategy’ is to waste time and avoid every challenge we come across. Our progress is at snail pace.”
“This is about being smart,” you snapped back. “It’s about surviving long enough to get to Niniel’s Veil in one piece. Or do you plan on dragging a half-dead group through the forest because you couldn’t wait a few hours to go around?”
“But I guess that’s asking too much from someone who thinks brute force solves everything.”
Bakugou’s eyes flashed with anger, but there was something else there too— something like shock, buried deep beneath his stubbornness. He wasn’t used to being questioned like this, especially not by someone he barely knew. But you weren’t backing down, and that seemed to catch him off guard.
“You think you know everything because you’ve got a map and a compass,” Bakugou growled, stepping closer. “But out here, it’s not just about what you know. It’s about what you can do. And what I can do is get us to that Veil faster than your slow, ‘safe’ route.”
You met his gaze head-on, refusing to be intimidated. “And what I can do is make sure we get there without losing anyone along the way. If you’d stop being so damn reckless for five minutes, you might see that.”
The tension between you crackled like a live wire, each of you daring the other to back down. Yet neither of you flinched, standing your ground with unwavering resolve. It was a standoff, a stubborn battle of wills where neither of you was willing to give an inch. Neither of you would ever move.
Finally, Bakugou huffed, breaking the silence. “Fine,” he muttered, his voice low but still laced with irritation. “We’ll do it your way. But if we get ambushed because of this detour, it’s on you.”
You let out a slow breath, relief mixing with the lingering frustration. “Deal. But if we avoid a fight, you owe me an apology.”
Bakugou snorted, turning on his heel as he started down the path you had pointed out. “Tch. Don’t hold your breath.”
"Bastard," you muttered under your breath as you walked with the group. You made sure the insult was just loud enough for him to hear. As you passed by Bakugou, you deliberately bumped his shoulder, a subtle but unmistakable show of defiance.
As you walked past Bakugou, muttering the insult under your breath, he stiffened, his jaw tightening. The faintest twitch in his shoulder betrayed his irritation, and he shot you a sharp, sidelong glare. Despite his attempt to maintain his composure, the anger simmering just beneath the surface was unmistakable, his fists clenching at his sides as he fought to keep his temper in check.
Denki and Sero exchanged glances, both grinning now as they walked behind you. “I think they’re gonna get along just fine,” Sero whispered.
“Or kill each other trying,” Denki added with a laugh.
Bakugou marched forward with determined strides, his shoulder colliding with yours in a harsh, deliberate bump. The force of it nearly threw you off balance, but you quickly steadied yourself, glaring at his back as he put himself slightly ahead of you. He didn't even glance back, his focus fixed on the path ahead as if daring you to react. You rolled your eyes, the irritation bubbling up as you let out a scoff, but you held your tongue. It wasn’t worth it— at least, not right now.
Still, the tension between you crackled in the air, a silent reminder of how easily the two of you clashed.
But as you watched Bakugou’s back, still bristling with barely-contained energy, you couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, this wouldn’t be the last time the two of you butted heads. And while it was exhausting, a part of you couldn’t help but admire the fire in him. Even if the fire gave you the urge to strangle him.
But for now, as the group continued on the safer path, you found a small measure of satisfaction in knowing that you’d held your ground. And if Bakugou had to learn that not every fight could be won with brute force, well… you’d be more than happy to teach him. And rub it in his face. But as far as you were concerned, you doubted that he’d let you teach him anything. In the end, the group did not get ambushed. Bakugou never did apologised.
You were insufferable. Bakugou couldn't stand you. Every word that came out of your mouth seemed designed to get under his skin, and it worked— too well. You challenged him at every turn, never backing down, never letting him have the last word. It was infuriating.
He could feel his blood pressure spike every time you smirked at him, that infuriatingly calm look on your face as if you knew exactly how to push his buttons. It wasn’t just your words, though they were bad enough. It was the way you matched him, blow for blow, never letting him dominate the conversation or the situation. You were always there, a thorn in his side, ready to counter his every move with some clever quip or an infuriatingly smug retort.
Bakugou often enjoyed insulting people in Draconic, relishing the way it let him vent his frustrations without anyone understanding a word he said. There was something undeniably satisfying about watching someone’s clueless expression as he spat venomous words right to their face, knowing they couldn’t decipher the meaning behind the growls and hisses of his native tongue.
But then there was you. Of all the people to cross his path, you just had to know Draconic. It grated on him that every time he let a curse slip, you not only understood but fired back with equal venom. It was as if you revelled in the challenge, matching him insult for insult, and sometimes even besting him at his own game. It drove him up the wall, especially when you threw insults at him in a language he couldn’t comprehend.
"Maurg wux gashtik," he hissed at you as the two of you walked side by side, leading the group down the winding road. His eyes gleamed with irritation, the insult dripping with venom. He was trying to get creative with his insults now, pushing to see if he could get under your skin. The group sighed at his insult, a familiar one they had heard more than a few times before. It was his go-to jab whenever his patience ran thin.

Without missing a beat, you shot back, “Syyulq iw haf'ry zmy aldh kyiwz voraflv, la zmilcw.” Your words were smooth and confident, dripping with the kind of sarcasm that only comes from knowing you’ve got the upper hand. You smirked as you finished, casting a sidelong glance at him, knowing full well that he had no idea what you’d just said.
Mina, walking behind you, suddenly burst into laughter, clutching her sides as she tried to keep up with the group. In that moment, she was more than relieved that she could understand both Bakugou’s insult and yours. Silently thanking you for cursing back at him in infernal. Her laughter was contagious, and the others glanced around, curious about what was so funny. Bakugou's scowl deepened.
"What the hell did you just say?" he demanded, turning to you with a glare, clearly not pleased with being left out of the joke. He hated being in the dark, especially when it was at his expense.
You simply shrugged, feigning innocence. "Wouldn’t you like to know?" The teasing lilt in your voice only fueled his irritation.
Mina wiped away a tear, still giggling. "Oh, Bakugou, you don’t want to know," she teased, which only made him growl in frustration.
"I do want to know, dammit!" he snapped, his eyes narrowing. But neither of you gave him the satisfaction of an answer, continuing down the path as if nothing had happened.
Kirishima grinned, joining in on the fun. “Kats, I think you’ve met your match.”
Bakugou growled, his frustration mounting. It wasn’t just that you could keep up with him in Draconic— it was that you had the audacity to use another language entirely, one that left him in the dark. It was infuriating, and he hated how you seemed to enjoy pushing his buttons.
“You’re gonna regret that,” Bakugou muttered under his breath, more to himself than to you, as he tried to think up his next move in this strange verbal chess game the two of you had been playing since the journey began.
But for now, you had the upper hand, and the smirk on your face told him you knew it. The group continued their journey, the road ahead long and winding.
It gnawed at him, the fact that he couldn’t just ignore you or dismiss you like everyone else who got on his nerves. You were too sharp, too quick, always two steps ahead, and it drove him mad. It was like you were put on this earth specifically to test his patience, to see just how far he could be pushed before he snapped.
Bakugou might have been annoyed, but a small part of him— buried deep beneath the frustration— couldn’t help but admire how you never let him have the upper hand for long. That, he thought grudgingly, was something he could almost respect. Even if it did grind his gears to no end. The journey to Niniel’s Veil was far from over, and you both had to deal with each other.
Maurg wux gashtik: Go fuck a beast. Syyulq iw haf'ry zmy aldh kyiwz voraflv, la zmilcw: Seeing as you’re the only beast around, no thanks.
If the annoyance wasn’t enough, Bakugou didn’t trust you either. It was understandable, in a way— trust wasn’t something that came easily, especially not in a group formed under the pressure of necessity rather than choice. But the combination of mutual dislike and a lack of trust was a volatile mix, one that threatened to undermine the cohesion of the group at every turn.
The fire crackled softly in the heart of the forest, sending small sparks up into the darkening sky. The gentle warmth of the flames was a comforting contrast to the cool night air. The group sat in a loose circle around the fire, the orange glow illuminating their faces as they chatted quietly. Kirishima was recounting a funny story from one of their previous adventures, his laughter infectious as the others listened, occasionally adding their own comments or chuckles.
Mina leaned back against her pack, her eyes half-closed as she enjoyed the moment of peace. The night was calm, with only the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant call of a nightbird to break the silence. The woods felt alive, but not in a threatening way— just the usual sounds of nocturnal creatures going about their business under the watchful gaze of the stars.
After a while, the conversation began to taper off, the weight of the day’s travel settling in. One by one, everyone began to prepare for sleep. Kirishima stoked the fire one last time before lying down, while the others rolled into their blankets, their breaths gradually slowing as they drifted off.
You lay still for a few moments, listening to the soft, steady breathing of your companions. The fire had burned down to embers, casting a dim, flickering light over the campsite. The forest around you seemed to hold its breath, the quiet only deepening as the night wore on.
But your mind was restless, thoughts swirling like leaves caught in a storm. Sleep was slipping further away with each passing minute. After what felt like hours of lying there, you silently rose from your bedroll, careful not to disturb the others. The urge to move, to clear your head, was too strong to ignore.
You stepped away from the camp, the night embracing you with its cool, familiar stillness. Your eyes adjusted quickly to the darkness, allowing you to see the path ahead with ease. It was a gift you often kept to yourself. It was your nature, after all, to hold things close, to keep your secrets guarded.
As you walked, the forest seemed to whisper around you, the leaves rustling softly as if in conversation. You breathed in the crisp night air, feeling it clear your mind with each step. The solitude was a welcome relief, a chance to gather your thoughts away from the group.
But before you could get far, a firm hand suddenly gripped your shoulder, halting you in your tracks. You turned to find Bakugou standing behind you, his expression hard and unreadable in the shadows. His eyes, however, were sharp and searching.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked, his voice low and edged with suspicion. “Ditching us in the middle of the night?”
You shook your head, surprised by his sudden appearance but not entirely shocked by his suspicion. “I’m not ditching anyone. Just needed some air. A walk helps me think.”
Bakugou didn’t release your shoulder, his gaze narrowing as he studied you. “In the dark? Humans can’t see a damn thing out here without a torch.”
You paused, at his words. Bakugou’s hand tightened slightly on your shoulder as he pieced together the implications. “Humans dont have darkvision,” he muttered, almost to himself. His mind was clearly turning over the possibilities, trying to figure out what you really were.
You rolled your eyes, the tension between you and Bakugou palpable in the dim light of the forest. “I’m a half-elf,” you said, your tone edged with impatience. “Half-elves have darkvision. I never claimed to be human.”
Bakugou’s eyes widened slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing his face before he quickly masked it with his usual scowl. He studied you with renewed scrutiny, as if trying to reconcile this new piece of information with everything he knew— or thought he knew— about you.
“Well, that explains a few things,” he muttered, more to himself than to you. “Half-elves, huh? Didn’t see that coming.”
You met his gaze steadily, unflinching. “I didn’t see the need to announce it. Besides, I’d rather not make a big deal out of it. I’m here to help, not to broadcast my heritage.”
The truth was more complicated than you cared to share at the moment, especially with someone as guarded as Bakugou. He wasn’t someone who trusted easily, and you doubted he’d start now.
After a moment of tense silence, Bakugou finally released his grip, though his eyes remained wary. “Whatever. We’re not out here for a midnight stroll. Let’s go back to camp.”
Without waiting for a response, he turned and started walking back toward the campfire, clearly expecting you to follow. You hesitated for a moment, then sighed and fell in step behind him.
As you walked, Bakugou’s posture remained stiff, his mind clearly still turning over what he’d just discovered. You had given him an answer, but he wasn’t sure if he trusted it. Then again, would you lie about something like that? The doubt lingered in his eyes, though he didn’t ask any more questions. The silence between you was heavy, thick with unspoken words and unresolved tension. It was clear that, for now at least, the matter wasn’t settled in his mind.
When you both returned to camp, the fire was still glowing faintly, and the others remained asleep, unaware of the brief exchange. Bakugou didn’t say anything as he resumed his spot by the fire, but his eyes followed you as you lay down once more.
As you closed your eyes, you could feel his gaze lingering, the unspoken question hanging in the air. It seemed that trust, for now, would remain elusive between you— but at least you knew where you stood.
The morning sun filtered through the dense canopy above, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor as the group prepared for another day of travel. The air was crisp and fresh, a welcome change from the damp chill of the previous night. As everyone readied their gear, you decided to take a backseat in the day's journey, letting Bakugou take the lead. The prospect of another argument with him seemed exhausting, so you followed behind with Kirishima, who had readily offered to walk with you.
Kirishima’s cheerful demeanour was a stark contrast to Bakugou’s usual intensity, and you found the company pleasant. The two of you fell into an easy rhythm, your footsteps crunching softly on the forest path.
“So, Kirishima,” you began, trying to steer the conversation toward a topic you’d been curious about. “What’s Bakugou’s story? I mean, I know he’s skilled, but there’s something about him that seems like there’s more.”
Kirishima gave you a thoughtful look, his usually bright eyes narrowing slightly as he considered how to respond. “Bakugou?” he said, his voice taking on a thoughtful tone. “He’s got quite the history. He’s a dragonborn prince, you know.”
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by the revelation. “A prince? That’s… not something I expected. I mean, he doesn’t exactly come across as the royal type.”
Kirishima chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that was warm and friendly. “Yeah, he doesn’t exactly fit the typical prince mould. But he’s got a lot of responsibilities back home. Being a prince isn’t just about wearing a crown—it’s about carrying a whole lot of weight.”
You glanced ahead, where Bakugou was striding with his usual determination, his back straight and his gaze fixed on the path ahead. “So, what’s driving him to adventure like this? It seems like a pretty big change from royalty.”
Kirishima hesitated for a moment, his expression becoming more guarded. “Well, that’s not really my place to say. Bakugou’s got his reasons, and he doesn’t share them easily. Let’s just say he’s on a quest that’s important to him—something personal.”
You nodded, sensing that Kirishima was being intentionally vague. “Fair enough. It’s clear he values his privacy. But it’s good to know he has friends like you backing him up.”
Kirishima’s smile returned, a look of genuine warmth in his eyes. “Yeah, we go way back. I’m his chosen advisor, and it’s my job to support him, no matter what. We’ve been through a lot together, and I trust him more than anyone.”
You smiled, appreciating the loyalty and camaraderie that Kirishima clearly felt for Bakugou. “It sounds like you two have a strong bond. I guess that’s why you’re always so ready to jump in and help him out.”
“Definitely,” Kirishima agreed, his tone filled with sincerity. “We’ve got each other’s backs. That’s what matters.”
The conversation drifted to lighter topics as you both continued along the path, the forest surrounding you both serene and welcoming. There was a sense of unity and purpose among the group. As you walked beside Kirishima, you felt that you could understand a slight bit more of Bakugou.
Your mind drifted back to the night’s encounter. Bakugou had thought you were going to run off, his suspicion evident in the way he confronted you. It wasn’t just that he didn’t trust you— he was actively wary, as if expecting you to betray the group at any moment. The weight of his doubt lingered with you, and you couldn’t help but wonder what you could do to earn his trust.
You hadn’t lied when you told him you were a half-elf. But deep down, you knew it wasn’t the full truth either. There were parts of your heritage you hadn’t revealed, things you weren’t ready to share with anyone— not yet. That unspoken part of yourself hung between you and Bakugou like a shadow, a barrier that kept him on edge. You knew the dangers of revealing your true identity. The consequences could be far-reaching, and trust was a fragile thing. So, for now, you would keep it hidden for as long as you could, hoping that time would eventually build the trust you needed to bridge the gap between you and Bakugou.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the forest floor, Bakugou and Mina worked together to set up camp. The crackling of the fire was the only sound for a while, save for the occasional rustle of leaves as the wind whispered through the trees. Bakugou was unusually quiet, his sharp gaze focused on the task at hand, but his mind was elsewhere.
After a moment of silence, he glanced at Mina, who was busy laying out bedrolls. “Oi, Mina,” he started, his tone gruff as he tried to sound casual, “how close are you with that cartographer?”
Mina looked up, blinking in surprise at the sudden question. She tilted her head, considering. “We get along fine,” she said, a small smile tugging at her lips. “She's easy to talk to, but… I wouldn’t say we’re super close. Why?”
Bakugou shrugged, his expression carefully neutral, though there was a hint of curiosity in his eyes. “Just wonderin’. She ever open up to you? Y’know, about her past or whatever?”
Mina shook her head as she thought back. “Not really. She’s pretty secretive, honestly. I know She’s a cartographer—travelling all over the place for work. But outside of that, she doesn't share much. She usually keeps to themselves.”
Bakugou frowned, his brows knitting together as he absorbed this information. “So she doesn't talk about where she’s been or what she’s seen?”
Mina shrugged, her expression a mix of curiosity and understanding. “Not much, no. I think she prefers to keep her distance. It’s like she’s here, but her mind is always somewhere else, always on the next map, the next destination.”
Bakugou grunted in response, his gaze drifting towards the trees where the others had gone to collect water and firewood. “Figures,” he muttered, almost to himself. He couldn’t quite place why it bothered him that you were so closed off. Maybe it was because he couldn’t stand not knowing what made someone tick, or maybe it was something else entirely—something he wasn’t ready to admit, even to himself.
Bakugou thought back to that night. You had said you were a half-elf, but something about it didn’t sit right with him. There was a nagging feeling in his gut, a sense that there was more to your story than you were letting on. He couldn’t shake the feeling that you were holding something back, something important.
But then again, it was still early in the journey. Maybe he was just overthinking it, letting his natural suspicion get the better of him. He huffed, brushing off the unease with a scowl. He was probably just being stupid, reading too much into things that didn’t matter. There was a long road ahead, and he couldn’t afford to get distracted by his own doubts—not yet, anyway.
Mina noticed the thoughtful look on his face and smiled softly. “You’re curious about her, huh? It’s not like you to take an interest in someone’s life like this.”
Bakugou scowled, quickly masking his curiosity with a gruff snort. “Don’t get any ideas, Mina. Just tryin’ to figure out what makes ‘em so damn secretive. It’s annoying.”
Mina chuckled, giving him a knowing look. “Sure, sure. Well, maybe she’ll open up eventually. Who knows? We’ve still got a long journey ahead.”
Bakugou didn’t respond, but the frown on his face deepened as he returned to his task, his mind still turning over the mystery that was you. The more he thought about it, the more it gnawed at him. There was something about you that didn’t add up, and Bakugou wasn’t the type to leave a puzzle unsolved.
You returned from gathering firewood with Sero, engaged in light conversation as you both made your way back to camp. Sero was animatedly discussing his latest idea for improving the camp setup when your eyes happened to meet Bakugou’s across the clearing. The moment your gazes locked, the interaction quickly soured into a glare.
Bakugou’s voice cut through the calm evening like a blade. “What are you looking at?” he growled, his tone sharp and challenging.
You met his gaze with a raised eyebrow, your own expression hardening. “I’m just bringing back the firewood, Bakugou. If you’ve got something to say, just spit it out.”
Bakugou’s eyes narrowed, his irritation barely contained. “Oh, I’m just admiring your talent for being annoyingly friendly all the time.”
“Better than being a grumpy jerk,” you shot back, your tone crisp and biting. “At least I’m making an effort to get along with everyone around me.”
Bakugou snorted, his defiant expression unwavering. “Getting along doesn’t mean I have to like you.”
“Well, too bad. You’re stuck with me for the long haul,” you retorted, your eyes challenging as you turned back to Sero.
His scowl deepened, the lines on his forehead etched with frustration. “It’s not my fault if you’re always skulking around like you’re up to something.”
You took offence, the bundle of wood in your arms feeling heavier as your grip tightened. “Oh, spare me. Maybe if you didn’t jump to conclusions all the time, you wouldn’t be so damn paranoid.”
Sero, sensing the escalating tension and the heat of the moment, stepped in with a nervous laugh, trying to defuse the situation. “Hey, let’s just focus on setting up camp, alright? No need to turn this into a fight.”
The two of you exchanged one last, lingering glare before turning away, the bitterness of the encounter still hanging in the air. It was clear that, despite the forced civility, there was a lot of ground to cover before any semblance of mutual respect could be established. The journey ahead was long, and whether you liked it or not, learning to get along would be a necessary part of the road ahead. Both of you would have to navigate your way through this tension, finding common ground amid the bickering and suspicion, if you were to make it through the trials of the journey together.
The tavern’s warm glow flickers over Bakugou’s face as he recounts the early days of the journey to the bard. The firelight dances across the rugged lines of his features, accentuating the gruffness of his expression. His voice, though rough and often brusque, carries a hint of amusement as he describes the mishaps and close calls of their travels. The corner of his mouth curls into a rare, fleeting smile, betraying a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia as he relives the stories of the group’s early adventures.
“So, let me get this straight,” the bard chuckles, leaning forward, “you two couldn’t stand each other from the start?”
Bakugou snorts, a rare grin tugging at his lips. “Hated each other’s guts. She was too careful, and I was too reckless. We annoyed the hell out of each other every chance we got.”
“We couldn’t stand each other,” Bakugou admits, his tone gruff but tinged with amusement. “Always bickering, always on each other’s nerves. Hell, I thought we were gonna tear each other apart before we even made it halfway.”
The bard chuckles, shaking his head. “Sounds like quite the pair. How’d you manage to get anything done?”
Bakugou laughs, a low, rumbling sound. “By sheer stubbornness. We hated each other, sure, but I’ll give her this—she knew what she was doing. Eventually, we figured out how to make it work. Mostly.” He added with a knowing grin.
The bard laughs as well, eyes twinkling with interest. “And now?”
“Now?” Bakugou leans back, a glint of nostalgia in his eyes. There’s a hint of sadness in them. “Now, we still argue like crazy. But somehow, we make it work.”
It had barely been two weeks of relentless bickering with Bakugou, and every moment felt like a battle you were losing. His sharp words, constant challenges, and the way he always had to have the last word grated on your nerves. You couldn’t stand it. The tension was suffocating, your patience wearing thin with every snarky exchange. The urge to scream clawed at your throat, desperate for release.
The late afternoon sun filtered through the dense canopy of trees, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. The air was cool, filled with the earthy scent of moss and damp leaves. A gentle stream gurgled nearby as Mina and you filled water skins for the camp, the soothing sound doing little to quell your growing frustration.
“I swear, Bakugou is impossible!” you huffed, shaking your head as you dipped another skin into the clear water. “He acts like nothing can touch him, diving into danger for convenience!”
Mina glanced at you, an amused smile playing on her lips as she finished tying off one of the filled skins. “You know he’s just being Bakugou. It’s kind of his thing— punch first, ask questions later. But it has worked out before.”
You rolled your eyes, the irritation evident in your voice. “Yeah, but it’s only a matter of time before it doesn’t! He needs to learn to slow down, think things through. When we reach Niniel’s Veil, it’s not just fighting monsters out here; we’ve got traps, puzzles, who knows what else. He’s too reckless!”
Meanwhile, deeper in the woods, Kirishima and Bakugou were trudging through the underbrush, fallen branches crunching underfoot as they gathered firewood. Bakugou’s expression was as stormy as ever, his grip on the axe handle tight as he vented his frustrations.
“That damn guide is a pain in the ass,” Bakugou grumbled, swinging the axe down with a fierce chop. “Always so careful, double-checking every damn thing like I’m some kind of idiot. We don’t have time for all that crap!”
Kirishima chuckled, hoisting a thick branch onto his shoulder. “But isn’t that why you brought her along? To make sure we don’t walk into some ancient trap or something in the Veil? I mean, you’ve got to admit, her method has been smooth sailing.”
Bakugou scoffed, his eyes narrowing as he chopped through another log. “Doesn’t mean she has to question every move I make. I’ve got instincts, damn good ones! She just needs to keep up and stop second-guessing me.”
The complaints overlapped in the forest air, each of you venting to your companions, the words crossing paths but never reaching the intended target.
You shook your head, handing a full water skin to Mina. “He’s so stubborn. I don’t know how he thinks he’s going to survive if he keeps acting like he’s invulnerable. One of these days, he’s going to get us all killed.”
Mina tied off the skin, her expression thoughtful. “Maybe you just need to find a way to work with him, instead of against him. I mean, you’re both pretty set in your ways, but maybe that’s why you butt heads so much. You balance each other out, you know?”
Back with Kirishima, Bakugou grunted, shouldering a bundle of firewood. “She thinks that she knows everything, like she’s got all the answers. But I’ve been through worse, and I’m still standing. She needs to trust that I’ve got this.”
Kirishima adjusted the weight of the branches, his tone calm. “Maybe it’s not about who’s right, but about making sure we all get through this together. You both care about the group, even if you show it in different ways.”
“Urgh..! He’s such a pain! I can’t stand him. He’s such a—”
“She’s such an uptight, overcautious nag! Always acting like she’s got a stick up her—”
“—reckless, hot-headed maniac! Charging into everything like it’s a damn arena fight! Why can’t he just—”
“—shut up and let me handle things without acting like I’m gonna blow us all up every five seconds! It’s not like—”
“—he ever listens to anyone but himself! If he’d just stop and think for one second, maybe we wouldn’t be—”
“—stuck wasting time because someone has to check every leaf and twig like it’s gonna explode!”
“—risking our necks because he’s too stubborn to admit he’s not invincible!”
Mina and Kirishima exchanged knowing glances if they were next to each other. They watched the barbarian and the cartographer vent their intense frustrations. The raw display of annoyance was almost comical— both of them so stubborn, so convinced they were right, yet so blind to how similar they really were. Mina chuckled softly, shaking her head at the irony of it all, while Kirishima couldn’t help but grin at the familiar scene. They had seen this play out before: the clash of two strong-willed personalities who, despite their constant bickering, somehow managed to keep the group moving forward.
Neither of you would hear the other’s words, each too wrapped up in your own complaints. The journey ahead was fraught with dangers, and though you couldn’t see it yet, those opposing qualities might just be what kept the group together when the stakes were highest.
There were definitely times when your methods worked best, especially in situations that demanded careful planning and a steady hand. Navigating treacherous terrain and leading with caution—all tasks where your meticulous approach and attention to detail had saved the group from wasting precious resources early in the journey. You were determined to conserve energy and supplies for the challenges that awaited at Niniel’s Veil.
But there were also moments when Bakugou’s approach was undeniably effective. His instinct to charge forward, to confront danger head-on with raw strength and unwavering confidence, had turned the tide in battles where hesitation could have been fatal. His ability to make quick, decisive moves in the heat of the moment had saved lives more than once.
The early morning air was crisp and cool, carrying with it the faintest scent of dew and pine. The camp was still, save for the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of awakening birds. The sky, just beginning to blush with the first hints of dawn, cast a soft, golden light over the landscape. You and Bakugou were the only ones awake, the rest of the group still wrapped in the comfort of their sleep. An unspoken tension lingered between you.
Bakugou sat by the embers of the now-dying campfire, his arms crossed tightly over his chest as he stared out into the growing light. You approached him, your footsteps muffled by the soft ground. The air was crisp and cool, a welcome relief from the stuffy confines of the tent.
“Hey,” you said, trying to sound casual despite the underlying strain. “Since we’re both up, I figured I might as well come with you to scout ahead.”
Bakugou glanced up, his expression a mix of surprise and reluctant approval. “Fine. Let’s go.”
You nodded and fell into step beside him, the two of you moving out of the camp and into the dense underbrush. The forest around you was bathed in a soft, early morning light, the trees casting long, slanting shadows on the ground. The silence of the woods was punctuated only by the crunch of leaves underfoot and the occasional chirp of a waking bird.
The awkwardness between you was palpable, each step feeling like a small, deliberate choice in a game neither of you wanted to play. Bakugou’s posture remained rigid, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a vigilance that spoke more of habit than relaxation. You walked beside him, your own gaze alert but focused on maintaining a semblance of peace.
Bakugou was quiet, the weight of unspoken tension hanging between you. He knew that for this journey to work, you both needed to reach some kind of understanding. Begrudgingly, he decided to start the conversation. He wasn’t sure how, but he knew it had to happen.
After a few minutes of strained silence, Bakugou finally broke it. “Why do you hate me so much?” His voice was low and gruff, cutting through the quiet.
You glanced at him, taken aback by the bluntness of his question. “Hate’s a strong word,” you replied, keeping your tone measured. “I don’t hate you. I just think your approach is reckless and puts everyone at risk.”
Bakugou’s expression hardened, his eyes narrowing. “Reckless? You mean taking risks to get things done faster. You’re the one who always plays it safe, wasting time and taking it slow while we’re stuck in the same spot.”
“Oh, come on,” you shot back, a hint of frustration seeping into your voice. “It’s not about playing it safe. It’s about using our heads and avoiding unnecessary danger. If we take shortcuts without knowing what we’re up against, we’re just asking for trouble.”
“Trouble that we can handle,” Bakugou retorted. “If we keep taking the long way, we’ll never get anywhere. Sometimes you’ve got to take a chance to get ahead.”
You shook your head, exasperated. “And sometimes those chances come with risks that could be avoided. It’s not worth jeopardising everyone’s safety for the sake of saving a few hours.”
As you argued, Bakugou’s eyes fell on a narrow path winding through the woods. He pointed to it, his tone challenging. “Look, there’s a shortcut right there. We could cut through and save a lot of time.”
You pulled out your map and studied it, your brow furrowing. “That shortcut is infested with bandits. I’ve marked it as dangerous. It’s not worth the risk.”
Bakugou’s frustration was palpable. “The group can handle bandits. We’ve fought worse. Why waste time taking the long way around when we can deal with the problem head-on?”
You glared at him, your patience wearing thin. “Because it’s not just about fighting. It’s about making sure we don’t run into more trouble than we can handle. Sometimes avoiding a fight is the smarter move.”
The argument continued, the exchange heated but ultimately inconclusive. Both of you were too entrenched in your own viewpoints to reach an agreement. When you finally returned to camp, you were both visibly frustrated.
The group was still asleep, the peaceful morning broken only by the soft murmur of the wind and the distant chirping of birds. You and Bakugou sat down, waiting for the others to wake up. The lingering tension between you was undeniable, but there was also a sense of shared purpose—an understanding that, despite the disagreements, you both had a role to play in the journey ahead.
As the first rays of sunlight crept over the horizon, the rest of the group began to stir. Kirishima was the first to sit up, rubbing his eyes and glancing around sleepily. He quickly noticed the strained silence between you and Bakugou, who sat apart from each other, both looking tense and frustrated.
“Uh… morning, guys,” Kirishima said cautiously, trying to gauge the situation. He shot a questioning look at Sero, who was now waking up beside him.
Sero stretched and yawned, then raised an eyebrow as he took in the scene. “Morning. Everything… okay?”
Denki, who had just rolled out of his blanket, leaned in closer to Mina and whispered, “What’s up with them? It’s too early for them to be fighting already.”
Mina, still half-asleep but alert enough to pick up on the tension, whispered back, “I don’t know, but you can feel it from here. They must’ve had another argument while we were asleep.”
“Again?” Denki replied, shaking his head. “You’d think they’d save it for when we’re all awake at least.”
Kirishima stood up and started gathering his things, trying to break the awkwardness. “Alright, let’s start packing up. We’ve got a long day ahead of us.” He shot a pointed look at you and Bakugou, hoping to diffuse the tension.
Mina and Denki exchanged a knowing glance before following Kirishima’s lead, quietly packing their belongings while sneaking curious glances at you and Bakugou. Sero sighed and muttered under his breath, “Great, just what we needed. Another day of this.”
As everyone started to pack up, the camp buzzed with quiet activity, but the atmosphere remained heavy. Despite the early morning chill, the tension between you and Bakugou lingered, a silent reminder of the ongoing clash of strategies and personalities.
You had spent the morning turning over Bakugou’s and Mina’s words in your mind. Your aversion to danger wasn’t born from some crippling fear. It was more a matter of practicality, honed by years of travelling alone. The safer, longer paths were the ones you’d come to rely on, not because you couldn’t hold your own in a fight, but because most threats didn’t come alone. As a lone traveller, risking an encounter with a group of enemies wasn’t a gamble you could afford to make.
You couldn't deny that the idea of taking shortcuts was tempting—who wouldn't want to shave time off a journey? But the longer routes had become second nature to you. They offered a sense of control, a way to avoid unnecessary risks, even if it meant the journey took longer. After all, the longer path had kept you alive this long. But now, you weren’t alone.
This time, you were guiding a group capable of working together in fights, each member bringing their own strengths to the table. While you understood the weight of responsibility for your choices and the lives of those around you, you also had to acknowledge that they were strong. Maybe it was time to trust in their abilities as much as your own instincts.
So, you decided to give in to Bakugou’s methods. It wasn’t easy—your instinct was to err on the side of caution, to take the longer, safer route. But you couldn’t always reject Bakugou’s ideas. He wasn’t stupid; if anything, he was frustratingly competent. Maybe, just maybe, his method would work out this time.
“Alright,” you said, catching up to him as the group prepared to move out. “Let’s take the shortcut you suggested.”
Bakugou turned to you, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. “You’re agreeing with me? No complaints about how dangerous it is?”
You shrugged, gripping your sword staff a little tighter. “No, no complaints. If we manage to get through, it’ll get us to Niniel’s Veil quicker. I can see the benefit in different methods.”
He gave you a long, searching look before nodding. “Good. Then let’s get moving. But don’t say I didn’t warn you when we run into trouble.”
You met his gaze, your voice firm. “I’m not scared of trouble.”
The group set off, the atmosphere tinged with a mix of tension and curiosity. Bakugou led the way, his confidence clear in his stride, while you stayed close, your sword staff at the ready. The path was narrow, overgrown, and clearly less travelled— a clear indication of why it was considered a shortcut. The trees loomed overhead, their thick branches casting long shadows on the ground as the sun filtered through in patches.
This shortcut was infamous for the number of bandits lying in wait to ambush travellers. It was certainly a quicker route, but it came with a reputation for trouble, especially in this part of the woods.
You kept your senses sharp, every sound and movement drawing your attention. The quiet was unnerving, each snap of a twig underfoot sending a jolt of anticipation through you. You could feel the others’ unease too— Mina kept casting glances at you, while Sero and Kirishima’s usual banter had died down, replaced by a focused silence.
Sure enough, as the group pressed deeper into the shortcut, the ambush came. A gang of bandits emerged from the underbrush, their weapons drawn and eyes gleaming with malicious intent. It was clear they’d been lying in wait, expecting easy prey.
“There they are!” one of the bandits shouted, raising his sword. “Get ’em!”
Your grip on the sword staff tightened as you instinctively fell into a defensive stance. “Here we go,” you muttered to yourself, your eyes scanning the bandits for any weaknesses.
Bakugou, however, was already on the move. “Stay close and don’t hold back!” he barked, his voice commanding as he charged forward, his weapon drawn and ready.
The fight was intense and chaotic. The bandits were skilled, but your group was more than a match for them. Bakugou’s aggressive approach caught the bandits off guard, his attacks swift and brutal. You found yourself coordinating with him, your defensive techniques complementing his offence as you fought off the attackers.
“Watch your left!” Bakugou yelled, his voice cutting through the din of battle.
You pivoted, blocking an incoming strike with the shaft of your sword staff before delivering a sharp counterattack. “Cover the right!”
Bakugou grunted in acknowledgment, his movements fluid as he took down another bandit. The two of you moved in sync, your strategies— though different— working together to keep the group protected. Mina and Denki used their abilities to create distance, while Sero and Kirishima provided support, ensuring no one got overwhelmed.
Despite the initial tension, the fight went smoothly. The bandits were eventually routed, their numbers no match for your combined strength. As the last of them fled into the trees, one of them managed to knock you to the ground.
Bakugou was quick to stride over, grabbing your arm and hauling you back to your feet with a force that left you slightly off balance. “Can’t even stay on your feet?” he quipped, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“Whatever,” you retorted, shaking your head as you brushed the dirt from your clothes. “Thanks, I guess.”
Bakugou chuckled, the sound a low, gruff rumble that sent a shiver down your spine. “What was that?” he asked, leaning slightly closer, the smirk widening. “Didn’t quite catch that. Why don’t you say it again?”
You shot him a glare, pausing in your task to look him squarely in the eye. “Don’t push your luck, Bakugou. I said what I said.”
His smirk only grew, clearly enjoying the reaction he’d provoked. “That’s what I thought. You’re welcome, by the way.”
You rolled your eyes, slotting your sword staff into your pack. “You’re insufferable, you know that?”
“And you’re welcome,” he repeated, the teasing tone unmistakable.
Despite yourself, you couldn’t help but smile a little as you adjusted your backpack. “Yeah, yeah. Just don’t expect me to be grateful every time you play hero.”
Bakugou’s eyes glinted with amusement as he rolled his shoulders, preparing to continue the journey. “Wouldn’t dream of it. But you might want to work on that ‘thank you’ anyway. We’ve got a long journey ahead.”
You shook your head, but the corners of your mouth twitched upward. “Keep dreaming.”
There was a pause as the both of you caught your breath, the adrenaline of the fight slowly ebbing away. The forest around you was quiet again, save for the distant rustle of leaves and the soft breeze. You both stood there, a few feet apart, the tension that had filled the air earlier now replaced by a tentative calm.
Bakugou looked at you, his gaze steady as he wiped a bit of dirt off his arm. “Told you it’d work out,” he said, his voice gruff but surprisingly even. “Sometimes, you just have to take the risk.”
You couldn’t help but grin, albeit begrudgingly. There was something about his blunt confidence that, for once, you couldn’t argue with. “Yeah, yeah,” you muttered, the corners of your mouth twitching upward. “But next time, we do it my way.”
Bakugou snorted, a sound that was more amused than dismissive. There was no malice in it, just a hint of teasing. “We’ll see about that. But admit it— my way wasn’t so bad this time.”
You chuckled, a strange sense of camaraderie settling between you, easing the usual friction. “I guess I’ll give you that. But just this once.”
Bakugou’s eyes glinted with a mix of satisfaction and challenge as he crossed his arms over his chest, a small smirk still playing on his lips. “Once is all I need,” he replied, the competitive edge in his voice unmistakable.
The tension that usually hung between you had softened, replaced by something that felt almost like mutual respect. The group, though tired, seemed more cohesive after the battle, the tension of the shortcut replaced by a sense of accomplishment. As you resumed your journey, the atmosphere was lighter, the lingering animosity between you and Bakugou beginning to thaw—if only just a little.

Note
Out of curiosity, how far ahead are you on the comic? I mean, you must have it all planned and written out, but I imagine that you are drawing the future of Aurora even while we're reading it.
So is Arc 2 already illustrated and ready for upload while you're on like Arc 5 or something? I'm by no means undermining your need for a break; I'm shocked that you've been uploading continuously for over 4 years at this point. I'm just interested to know how long it takes a person to make something this great. And also if you change any details in the final edit?
Basically: what's the workflow like?
Also I think you low-key inspired me to pick up painting as a hobby. I'm ready to pour so much money into creating things that I know I'll hate. :)
God, arc 5? That's a very generous assessment of how fast I can draw!
Typically, when the comic is updating regularly, I keep a buffer of 10 to 20 completed pages. Right now, in the interest of taking a break, the buffer is 0 completed pages.
Chapter 1 of Arc 2 is completely storyboarded, meaning it's sketched out, the dialog is all mostly finalized barring last-minute rephrasements, etc. It can be read in its current form, it just looks unpretty. In fact, just for fun, here's a sneak peek!
Tumblr media
In the next month I'll go through and finalize as many pages from this chapter as possible - which means locking down the panel borders, fleshing out the backgrounds, lining, shading, coloring, polish, etc. - which will be the process of building up a new buffer for when the comic starts back up again in January. During that time, I'll also be storyboarding Chapter 2 and as much of the following parts as I can manage.
I have the next several chapters and sub-arcs planned out in loose timelines - event A happens at location B leading to consequences C and D, stuff like that. Chapter 2, being the closest, is a little more fleshed-out, with a more detailed bullet-pointed timeline and various character ideas I've had that might or might not make it into the final version.
Tumblr media
What exactly the chapter breakdown is going to look like is a little more complicated. Initially I'd planned for Chapter 1 to be low-stakes downtime and Chapter 2 to quickly kick off the high-octane adventure again, but when I started bullet-pointing out the stuff I wanted to do in Chapter 2, I ended up with a big pile of slower-paced character moments I thought were well worth exploring, so the runtimes might stretch a little.
Translating those brainstormed notes into storyboards and dialog is what I would classify as the "writing" part of this process. It happens at an erratic pace largely determined by the whims of whatever muse decides to get me in a headlock that day; sometimes I go weeks with no storyboarding progress, sometimes I hammer out fifteen pages in one day.
It's kinda like weaving, to me. The soon-to-be-arriving parts of the story are the most finalized, the most densely woven. A little ways beyond that, things get looser - some patterns may be locked down, but the actual work that'll hold it together hasn't been done yet. And in the far-flung future arcs, it's just the basic bones of the story and a pile of the threads I've planned to use. I know the shape of it, but in order for it to be fun and engaging for me to make it, I need to give myself room to be creative when I'm putting the whole thing together.
I actually have a file called the "Toolbox" that contains every random character or subplot idea I've had, and sometimes when I'm debating where to go with a chunk of story, I'll crack it open and scan through to see if anything jumps out begging to be used. Lotta fun stuff in there that may or may not ever see the light of day. Dropping stuff in the Toolbox is one of the most fun and freeing parts of the process for me!

————
seo changbin likes a lot of things.
he likes eyeliner and smoking cigarettes and hard sex. he likes going fast on his motorcycle and he likes his tattered leather jacket. he likes getting piercings with silver jewelry and he likes pretending that the taste of tequila doesn’t affect him.
but above all, he likes you.
he likes your pretty teeth and the curve of your neck. he likes the leather platform boots you bought to try to impress him. he likes the smell of your shampoo that’s now permanently interwoven into the fabric of his pillow.
he likes it when you cry when you cum and when you dig your teeth into his shoulder as he fucks you. he likes the way your speech becomes slurred after he’s given you countless mind-blowing orgasms.
he likes to be in control. but not in a weird, lowkey misogynistic way. more in a ‘i’m gonna fuck you so hard and act cold so we both feel good and then kiss away your tears because i love you more than anything else’ kind of way, you know? that’s why handcuffs are such a staple in your relationship.
you remember the first time he used those cold, metal cuffs on you.
it was after a halloween party and changbin was dressed up as, you guessed it, a police officer. the party was fun at first but soon grew to be quite boring. when changbin started to get a little too handsy was when you decided to call it a night. the cab ride back to your apartment was excruciatingly long and when you arrived you unlocked your door with trembling, sweaty hands.
no words needed to be exchanged for you to know to get onto your mattress on your stomach, hands behind your back where changbin cuffed them in place with a satisfying metallic click!
his movements were painstakingly slow, removing and discarding your bottoms and costume at a torturous pace to tease you (for what you have no idea - your costume wasn’t even that revealing). you could feel the tip of his nose tracing the skin in between your shoulder blades before he fucked you from behind, his blunt nails digging into your hips and he gripped you like he was never gonna let go. all you could do was cry and drool into your bedding as your boyfriend brought you to orgasm so many times your legs felt like tv static.
every time you tried to move, tried to find solace and stability by gripping the duvet underneath you, you were reminded of the cuffs that were binding your wrists together. changbin would chuckle every time he heard them clink and jingle, knowing he had complete and utter control over you. if anything it added fuel to his fire, resulting in him thrusting his cock into you in such a way that made it feel as if he was so deep inside of you that the two of you would forever be connected.
when he finally relented and unlocked you, your wrists were bruised and throbbing - it felt amazing.
the stinging of your wrists coupled with the pulsing of your abused cunt had you passing out on changbin’s broad chest in minutes and falling into one of the deepest sleeps you had ever experienced.
but of course, come morning time, he treated you as if you were royalty and kissed the marks that his handcuffs left on you with so much delicacy you thought you were going to turn into a puddle.
unbeknownst to the outside world, seo changbin has a soft side; which you discovered the first time he brought you into his room and had forgotten to hide his munchlax plushie beforehand. watching him scramble to hide it under his bed made the situation 10 times worse, and all he could do was scratch the back of his neck sheepishly as you attempted to stifle your laugh.
once the two of you became, you know, official, he let this side of him shine through more often.
at times he treats you as if you’re made of porcelain, as if you’ll crack and break at even the slightest touches - hence the way he traces the back of your hand with his thumb when you’re holding hands, his strokes akin to that of a feather.
you’ve lost track of the amount of times he’s almost burnt your kitchen down while attempting to make you breakfast after making love to you for hours on end the night before. it always ends the same, with changbin holding a plate of toast so burnt it's turned into bedrock and scrambled eggs you could bounce off the wall because of how rubbery they are. the result is always changbin dragging you to your favourite cafe for brunch in defeat, claiming that ‘it’s the thought that counts, y/n’.
but only you have the privilege of seeing him like this. these small, tender moments reserved only for the two of you in private, away from the curious eyes of onlookers in public.
on the days where both of you are lucky enough to not have to pull yourself out of bed early for the sake of attending a lecture or getting work done, you get to revel in the warmth provided by each other’s sleeping bodies. if you wake before changbin, you’re greeted with a view of his broad shoulders, his skin dotted with small imperfections and the bumps of his individual vertebrae visible. small, soft snores can be heard escaping his parted lips. if changbin wakes before you do… he never does.
sometimes you’re able to spend the whole entire day together without having to tend to other duties. these days usually entail slow, lazy starts to the day followed by changbin dragging you to the gym to watch him do lat pulldowns and cable rows followed by a shared shower where you help massage shampoo into his scalp. or, it could involve the two of you screaming at the tv as you battle over the top spot in mario kart 8 - changbin mains bowser, of course, whereas you opt to play as king boo. it takes almost all of your strength to avoid whipping your remote at the wall when he absolutely clobbers you during grumble volcano.
“don’t be upset y/n,” he coos without fail, “i’ll make it up to you later tonight!”
and he always does.
in public, he’s brooding, mysterious, sexy. it’s rare to see him without a cocky smirk painted across his face, his puffed lips quirked upwards as if to say ‘i’m better than you’ to anyone who crosses his path. and it’s true, he is.
he’s also the type to get jealous very easily.
case in point:
it’s friday night, and the two of you are perusing the city streets looking for some fun. earlier in the day, jisung had informed you that a small group of friends was planning on paying a visit to a well loved bar to get sloshed later that night. with nothing better to do, you and changbin accepted the invitation.
at first it was fun, with everyone reconnecting and catching eachother up on the current drama in their lives. but after an hour or two the vibe changed and the atmosphere became almost… cliquey. everyone had chosen their respective person or group for the night, choosing to only converse within their little bubble and never straying from it. this resulted in you and changbin fleeing the scene, opting to enjoy yourselves elsewhere where you can get lost in the music and each other… and alcohol.
soon after you’re at the front of a line for some club you’ve never been to with changbin’s arm wrapped around your waist as the bouncer checks your i.d. you’re let in with a nonchalant wave of a hand, and changbin follows shortly after.
once inside you make your way up the stairs to where the crowd is, choosing to forgo coat check and instead tossing your jackets on top of a pile that has formed on one of the few tables lining the walls near the entrance. then, you make a beeline to the bar where you order yourself a vodka cran and changbin a heineken.
with alcohol in hand you shove your way to the middle of the dance floor, getting lost in the club music while bumping and grinding on your boyfriend who’s posted up behind you. you’re not sure how much time you spend on the dancefloor with warm cheeks and limbs that have gone fuzzy, but it feels as if time itself has come to a momentary halt, allowing you to enjoy yourself in this moment while the world continues on outside without you.
so, when changbin taps your shoulder and motions to the bar to wordlessly say ‘i’m going to get more drinks’ you only nod and continue to dance on your own while you wait for his return.
this decision proves to be fatal however, for only moments after changbin’s departure you feel a clammy hand wrap around your bicep. you whip around only to find yourself face to face with some random man wearing a nike tracksuit ogling at you like you’re the last piece of his favourite candy at the candy store. gross.
“sorry, are you trying to get past me?”
“nah i’m trying to get with you, ma,” he practically yells into your ear in order to be heard over the music.
“oh! no thanks, my boyfriend’s at the bar getting drinks,” you say and attempt to shuffle away, an action that proves to be harder than you thought due to the mass of people surrounding you.
much to your dismay, the man persists, “boyfriend? why’d he leave you here all alone?”
“... to get us drinks.”
“well, if i was your man i’d never leave you alone, princess.”
princess? gross. only changbin gets to call you that… when he’s fucking you.
“is everything okay, y/n?” you feel an arm nudge yours and turn around to see changbin, your knight in shining armour, who’s come to save you from this god awkward conversation. in each hold he hands a drink, one for you and one for himself, and you fear what he may do with them in the next few moments.
“yea, all good, this guy was just being… weird,”
the skepticism that was previously evident on changbin’s face quickly morphs into annoyance (and jealousy at the prospect of someone other than himself making moves on you). without speaking he shoves the recently acquired drinks into your hands - making you scramble to stop yourself from dropping them and creating a sticky, syrupy mess all over the dance floor - before moving to size up the ‘bro’ that was just hitting on you with his chest puffed and chin held high.
not wanting to get into any sort of trouble tonight, you practically throw yourself in front of the freight train that is your boyfriend.
“no! it’s fine, changbin, let’s just forget him and have a good time, ‘kay?” you attempt to reason with him to no avail. all changbin does is shift his gaze between you and the guy who was making moves on you several times before wordlessly grasping your arm and pulling you towards the exit; you’re forced to abandon the dripping drinks in your hands on the edge of the bar (not before you manage to spill about half of one all over your lower arm).
soon you’re out of the crowded space, and are making your way towards the exit of the building and the city streets that are surely still teeming with nightlife.
“bin-”
“we’re going home,” he asserts, “i don’t want anyone talking to you like that.”
all you can do is allow yourself to be dragged behind your boyfriend like a ragdoll, his grip on your wrist so tight your fingertips start to lose their sensation. you know that any words of dissatisfaction you voice will be falling on deaf ears, so you opt to keep quiet and let changbin take the lead.
the bite of the cold night air of the winter jolts you awake once you step outside. a dull ring settles in your ears as the loud club music dissipates and changbin drags you further and further away from the establishment, almost dislocating your shoulder when he suddenly yanks you down a small, secluded alleyway.
“bin i’m fine, really,” you attest, your eyes never leaving the troubled face of your boyfriend, who pulls a pack of marlboros and a lighter out of his pocket. you watch as he places a cigarette between his lips before lighting it, using his hand to shelter the flame from the wind. in that moment you become envious of a measly little cigarette, for you so desperately wish that it was you and your mouth that changbin was putting his lips on and inhaling deeply, sucking you in like you’re his lifeline.
a haze of smoke soon surrounds you as changbin takes several drags from his dart, his eyes dark and refusing to meet yours. the scent burns your nostrils and you have to fight back the urge to cough; smoking only appeals to you when you’re drunk, and the alcohol you consumed earlier in the night has mostly exited your system.
with a sigh that manifests in a grey cloud changbin tosses his half-smoked cigarette to the ground, squashing the spark with the heel of his boot before catching your eye. his leather jacket rustles as he raises his hands to cup your face, the pads of his thumbs caressing your cheeks.
“you’re mine, and nobody else’s,” his gaze is so piercing it feels as if he’s going to burn a hole through you, “right?”
you nod enthusiastically, head bobbing up and down as you whisper a quiet ‘right’ through squished cheeks and puckered lips - lips that are then being pressed against your boyfriends.
changbin tastes like the nicotine he just inhaled and smells like the cologne he saturated himself with earlier this evening, and you find yourself getting drunk all over again on something other than alcohol this time - him.
with your back pressed up against a brick wall you allow yourself to get lost in the feeling of your lover’s mouth on yours, enraptured by the way changbin moves his lips in tandem with your own. the warmth radiating from the palms of his hands that have yet to leave your face makes your cheeks flush, and you tangle your fingers in the wavy strands of his hair that he’s choosing to let grow out, much to your delight.
the skin of your cheek stings when it’s exposed to the cold as changbin retracts his hand from your face, the tips of his fingers tracing the skin of your neck and sternum before reaching the waistband of your bottoms. his curious hand only hovers there for a moment before slipping underneath, not allowing a mere piece of fabric to be an obstacle in the way of your pleasure. a feeble moan escapes you when changbin gropes your cunt over your panties, the fabric already sticky and wet with your arousal.
“here, bin?” you question while scanning your surroundings, making sure there isn't anyone spying on the two of you being exhibitionists, “are you sure this is a good idea?’
“the best one i’ve ever had,” as he speaks his lips graze your neck, his breath hot and heavy before he starts to nip and suck at the supple skin; your pulse skyrockets and you clamp your thighs shut, ultimately trapping changbin’s hand in between them.
he manages to pry your legs apart just enough in order to move his hand, sliding your panties to the side and running two deft fingers through the folds of your dripping, needy pussy. it’s funny in the sense that changbin’s actions are so simple yet they already have you whining in pleasure, head rolling forward as you hide yourself in the crook of his neck.
“shhh baby, try to keep it down,” he coos, yet continues on nonetheless - easy for him to say, he’s not the one taking your fingers in an alleyway where a bunch of drunk people are parading by only metres away.
changbin continues to play with your cunt nonchalantly, much to your chagrin. every now and then he lets the tip of his middle finger dip into your dripping hole, causing you to go weak in the knees as the calloused heel of his palm kisses and bumps your aching clit.
“binnie,” you heave out rather embarrassingly, “i need it.”
“my girl needs my fingers in her pretty pussy, huh?” he teases, you nod pathetically with glassy eyes.
and at long last changbin finally relents and slips his middle and ring fingers fully inside of you, your cunt immediately clenching around his digits. the way he drags his fingers in and out of you so slowly before fucking them back into you feels so euphoric that you can’t help the goofy, drunken smile that makes its way onto your face as you drool onto the shoulder of his leather jacket.
with his broad shoulders shielding you from the outside world, changbin begins to curl and scissor his fingers inside of your warm, wet walls, making you moan and plead against his neck.
“god binnie you’re so good, feels so fucking good,” you cry through cracked lips while blinking away the eyeliner that stings your shiny, tearfilled eyes.
changbin then uses his thumb to massage your clit while his fingers continue to reach deep inside of you, making your lower abdomen twist and churn and your heart go thump thump thump from behind your chest. your fingers only tighten their grip on changbin’s jacket as you subtly rock your hips against his hand in an attempt to bring your orgasm on sooner.
you find yourself tuning out the sounds of traffic and people and nightlife to instead hone in on the beating of changbin’s heart that you can hear beating in his chest, your moans that only continue to increase in pitch, the rustle of bin’s jacket as he fingers you.
“so close honey, can you cum for me?” changbin groans into your ear in response to your pussy clenching around his fingers, a telltale sign that you’re on the brink of finishing all over his hand. at this point your back is aching from being pressed against brick for so long and you have a headache from how intensely you’ve been furrowing your brows, but the fire you feel in your aching pelvis makes it all worth it.
it only takes changbin several more thrusts before you’re creaming all over his fingers, whining his name is a nasally, needy tone as you all but collapse against his built frame as your orgasm explodes inside of you like fireworks. after a few moments you begin to come down, immediately noticing how dry your open mouth is and how sore your fingers are from gripping changbin’s jacket with everything you got.
when you pull away from changbin to stand up straight, a string of spit from your mouth to his jacket follows you - you wipe it away and pray he didn’t notice. it takes you a second to fully regain your balance and when you do, changbin finally lets go of your hips only to move his soiled fingers to his mouth where he sucks them clean of your essence. then he places his mouth on yours, allowing you to taste yourself on his tongue before he swallows you down his throat.
words needn’t be exchanged for you to know what comes next, you simply follow changbins lead as he drags you all the way home and makes a mess of you on the sheets of his bed.

My Unity blab😘😘😘 (Jesus fuck do I have opinions)
Unity was good. I feel like the delivery was ok, maybe not an album that you would wait 2 and 1/2 years for but can you blame the man, he had shit going on.
The pacing was excellent, the songs flowed together well and it told a cohesive story. However, I’ve never been a good fan of artist releasing the heavy hitters of the album before it’s official release. In my opinion Why Not???didn’t have to be a single. I understand it was supposed to be his Eurovision song so releasing it close to the anniversary of Europapa was special. But if your album opens up with a song everyone’s already heard before then it just kinda falls flat. Especially after such a crushing album like Friesland.
I also think Luchtballon should have gone first or be left as a single. Just to make the flow between the two albums better. Like a cut off point between talking about his personal life to the corruption of the music industry and how we need unite to fix it. I understand what he was going for, making it a Eurovision sandwich. But having the first two songs of the album being already released made the intro a tad boring.
The features were probably some of my favorites. 1, Discozwemmen, and We’ll Meet Again made me tear up and instantly became some of my favorite in his discography. Literally perfect, only problem is that they could have been longer just so I had more to listen to.
But then United By Music… I’ve seen a lot of people calling it tasteless and rude. I can understand that. I think that bringing up the most recent election in the US and the genocide in Ukraine are some pretty big sore spots for people. And making a song where you openly make jokes about it could hurt people. But also comedy is the best medicine. Fear is power. Take way the fear of these people and they have no power. Yeah I’ve watch the movie IT, I’m pretty cool I guess.
I think that they also brought up some issues with in their own community. Tommy saying “I’m not a good singer that’s the reason why I rap, I’m not a good rapper that’s the reason why I sing” “I know that I’m white but I wish that I was black” brings up some issues that I’ve seen in the European hip hop/edm community where a lot of culture is stolen from people of color. That’s one of the reasons I’ve never been a big fan of Tommy. But he’s clearly making fun of himself and other people who do that stuff as well. Joost did a similar thing with the line “I like to keep it straight but I also like it gay.” Which could be alluding to the stage gay personas a lot of people put on, himself included. Where he’ll kiss and grind on guys on stage but doesn’t consider himself part of the LGBTQ+ community. I think that it’s good that he realizes these flaws about himself and is willing to put words to it. Not only calling out the hypocrisy’s in the EBU but also with in himself and his community. I think that these are real issues, and they should be fixed, but the first step of fixing a problem is realizing it’s there and putting a name to it.
Another thing that I picked up in the album, is a possible falling out with SkiAggu. I haven’t heard too much about it, but the flow from Friesenjung to Kusnt und Musik to Filthy dog seems like an interesting line up. He blew up on Friesenjung, talked about how he wasn’t SkiAggu with glasses on Kunst und Musik, and then talked about getting into a fight with a German guy on filthy dog. I could be reading into it too much, but if that did happen, then that progression was super cool. Props to him if so.
I think the over all story he was trying to convey is his issue with the party/rave/internet culture. And he’s right it’s fallen off over the years. People used to be so much more caring in converts and raves, and now everyone seems so isolated. I also love bringing back the OG 90s sound he’s been using since Friesland. I hope he sticks to it. Even though this album might have its flaws I can only imagine what his music would sound like in the future if he continues with the 90s/2000s nostalgia vibe.
In conclusion, solid album. Did a good job. Last man standing made me ugly cry. 👍👍👍👍
Also all of the beats went to fucking hard. Tantu put his whole pussy in it and I’ve never been so proud of my little girlfriend.

Since you've covered a pretty big bit of the manga so far, can I ask what are your opinions on it? Deeper than just the quick reactions you've shared with us so far.
What are your opinions about the manga's characters? Its pacing? The mystery element? The magic system? What areas do you think it succeeds, and what areas do you think could be better?
I understand if you're reversing judgment until you finish, but you've also read quite a bit of the story so far. Idk, I'm just curious!
Especially seeing as you're a writer yourself, so I imagine you have a different perspective on how the story functions as, well, a story!
Tumblr media
Oh, hmmm... that's an interesting question.
As of right now I'm on chapter 35-36 so I'm about a third through the story. The first major arc (find dragon, yoink falin out of its body, etc) has kinda happened, and we're hitting some larger world arcs.
As you mentioned, I DO want to withold judgement but for now... But I will say what I think thus far, with full awareness that my mind might be changed later depending on circumstances.
Comment 1: The manga is finished! Actually, just knowing that makes me feel like it's a more cohesive storyline.
Maybe I'm boring, but I'm not a huge fan of neverending storylines in general. Naruto, Bleach, etc. They have their place in the forever-young-monster-of-the-week genre, and I know why so many manga just keep... on... publishing....... but I feel like there's a lot of merit to being able to just wrap up a story and say 'there, that's how it ends'.
Comment 2: Laios is very well developed, even at this point of the story. Senshi remains a mystery. Marcille... speedran her arc?
I think this is the closest thing I have to a criticism. While I think Laios' character is well-paced in its revelations throughout the series (the slow ramp-up from 'oh this guy is weird' to 'oh, this guy is a freak club card carrying member' to 'oh, this guy is the freak club president' was great!) Marcille is.... a little more of a mystery to me.
Now, perhaps my memory is bad. But I did find her turnaround at the end of the Red Dragon arc a bit... out of the blue?
Don't get me wrong. I think it's entirely believable. But I wish there had been more hints - or rather, more visible progress of her studies of ancient magic. I know it's been mentioned, and there WAS that chapter of her and Falin during their school years... but watching episode 2 of the show on netflix when she goes 'I feel useless, my magic doesn't help anyone :(' and then reading the manga and seeing her straight up go from 0 to 100 as she decides "we're gonna rearrange falin's bones and then I'mma raise her using this ancient technique I've been studying all along that I didn't tell you about because it was sus" is... a little bit of a turn?
Maybe it's on purpose! Maybe, when I read further about her personal journey, the pieces will fall into place more neatly. But compared to the rest of the characters, which seem relatively steady in their reveals (Laios, Chillchuck, Senshi) Marcille took a bit of a turn.
Which, again, isn't bad! It just seems contrasted to the rest of the team.
Comment 3: The magic system is more like a magic ecology.
Actually, in the beginning, I found the magic system Marcille used very vague. It was just a 'do what needs to be done' type of power with very few apparent limits or power balances aside from 'sometimes you run out of mana'. But I think at this point, I'm beginning to assume that the details of the magic are closer to the functions of an ecosystem or an organism, and therefore WHAT the magic does is kind of moot point. Marcille is just a little bacteria inside of the great intestine labyrinth of the dungeon, and she is using its energy to survive, like a sort of microfauna.
Comment 4: Man, the worldbuilding is cool. It's so cool.
I don't think I've seen another story that goes so deeply into dungeon ecosystems before this one. Not only are the people who live there fleshed out in terms of individual cultures and traditions and norms, there are also monsters that serve as a natural fauna that inhabits the halls of what OUGHT to be a mindless 'turn left and fall into a trap' setting!
There's sticking monsters into your world, and then there's 'digging out a trench 1 meter deep, pre-soaking the soil, inserting monster's roots lovingly into the spot, and then covering it with fertilizer and spritzing the leaves'. I don't doubt that there ARE other works that go into this level of detail, but the dedication and the ideas Kui-san has for this very much makes the dungeon a living part of this entire tale. :)
I'll probably have more to say later but for now.. that's about it!

3.263 Welcome mat
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Desi's story, I let her get back to online life and called Alessia. I needed to keep the momentum going and let everyone know before I lost my nerve again. All I told Less was that I needed her to come over, but she was super suspicious. True, she's always suspicious of everything, but she hammered me with so many questions in an extra skeptical tone. Thinking about it, I'd never invited her over before. She always just showed up. To be honest, I'd never asked anyone for anything before, and that wasn't good. Could it be the Watcher allowed this to happen for the sole purpose of making me see my need for community? The punishment didn't fit the crime in my view, but it was certainly effective.
Unlike everyone else, Alessia knew exactly what had happened to me immediately. I guess her paranoia was finally good for something.
"They got you," she shouted. "Oh Watcher! They got you!!"
She paced all over the porch, freaking out as expected. Honestly, it was a relief not having to explain myself again, especially since I still got emotional talking about it.
"Are you okay?" she asked, after calming down.
Tumblr media
"I'm honestly not sure. I still can't believe it's real. It's a boy, by the way."
"Awww! Well, that's nice, right?"
"It is. I've been thinking about what it would be like to have a son ever since I met your boys. Can you tell the kids for me? I can't handle a bunch of questions right now."
"Of course. I can do that. Actually, I'll do you one better! We're going to have a baby shower!"
"What?? No! No one else knows besides you and Dub. I need time to tell the others!"
Tumblr media
"No, you don't! We don't know what you have in there! We need to be nice to it in case it's from a hostile race!"
"What in the world are you talking about, Less?"
"Look at you! You're dressed like a smuggler! Do you want them to think you're hiding, or you're ashamed? A baby shower will make him feel welcome. And if he feels welcome, his people will leave us alone!"
"They're not people, Less."
"Call your friends and get them over here! And tell them to bring a gift!"
"Wh-now? It's 10:30 in the morning!"
"They're adults, Luca. They've been awake for hours by now." She dashed into the house. "Sophiaaa, we have work to do!"
I sat there and sighed, knowing there was no way I could get out of it. I called Dub first, but it went to voicemail.
"Hey, Dub. I know you were just here, and you're dealing with a lot, but if you happen to have some extra energy and strength today, I could use it. My sister is throwing me a baby shower. I really don't feel like celebrating, but she thinks I need to. Anyway, if you're able to come, I'd appreciate it. At the very least, we can help each other dodge Chi Chi, heh. But if you can't make it, I'll totally understand. I know I'm asking for a lot. You don't need to call me back. Just come or not. Okay, bye."
One down, two more to go. I needed a minute before I called Justin and the ladies. I already didn't keep up with them as much as I should anyway, but now I had this huge bomb to drop on them. They could wait a few more minutes. While I sat there, girding the courage to make the next phone call, Less came out to check on me and my progress. It's actually kinda nice to have one person be excited about this. She beckoned for me to stand, put her hands on me, bent over, and cooed over our new family member.
"Hey, little guy! I'm your aunt! When you're able to talk, I'm gonna have lots of questions for you!"

𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧
Parings → Vampire! Tom Holland x Reader
Warnings → blood
Summary → Tom's stubborn but you know how to make him to do stuff.
Tumblr media
You sighed, pacing back and forth in your flat as your phone lay on the coffee table. Five missed calls. Seven texts. Not a single reply.
Tom had a bet going on with Harrison, to see who's gonna last longer without any blood. Tom didn't want you near him while the bet was going on because he didn't want any distraction. Yeah, you're kinda his blood bag. The first three days of Tom’s ridiculous bet with Harrison had gone smoothly enough. He had been his usual playful, teasing self—face timing you late at night, sending you flirty texts, and keeping you updated on his progress. You had told him from the start not to participate, warning him that it was reckless, but Tom was stubborn. He loved competition and hated losing, especially to Harrison.
Now, it had been two whole days without a single word from him. You were worried. Something didn’t feel right, and you weren’t the type to sit around and wait. Grabbing the spare key to his flat, you decided it was time to take matters into your own hands.
---
As you pushed open the door to Tom’s flat, you were immediately hit with darkness. Even though it was broad daylight outside, Tom had somehow managed to make it night inside. Curtains were drawn tight, blocking any hint of sunlight.
"Tom?" You called out, your voice echoing through the unusually quiet space.
A low grunt came from the living room. You followed the sound, finding Tom sprawled out on the couch, his face buried in a pillow. His hair was a mess, and the normally vibrant energy he radiated was replaced with something…off.
"Babe, get up," you said, standing over him with your hands on your hips.
Tom’s muffled voice whined from the pillow. "Nooo…"
You rolled your eyes. "Come on, Tommy. Get up."
"No," he groaned again, this time flipping over to face you, though he squinted as if the faint light from the hallway was too much for him. "I'm too weak... I'm going to die..."
You raised an eyebrow. "Really? You’re dying? What is this, a dramatic one-man show?"
Tom let out another exaggerated groan, draping an arm over his forehead. "I'm serious! I'm burning up. I’m going to turn into ash. I can feel it. My body is crumbling."
"Stop being a drama queen," you said with a chuckle. Walking over to the nearest window, you yanked the curtains open.
Tom instantly threw the pillow over his face, shrieking. "Oh my god, close it, close it please! I’m melting! My skin! I’m gonna—"
"Tom," you cut him off, striding back over to the couch and sitting beside him. "It’s just sunlight. You have your daylight ring, you’re not dying."
He peeked out from under the pillow, giving you an exaggerated pout. "Feels like I am…"
You shook your head, but as your hand brushed his, you stopped. His skin was ice cold. Even for a vampire, Tom usually kept some warmth from his human side, but now he was paler than you’d ever seen him. His face had lost its usual mischievous glow, and his eyes were dull, lacking their usual spark.
"Tom," you said, more softly this time. "Have you really been like this for the past few days?"
He nodded slowly, his face still half-covered by the pillow. "I thought I could handle it. I thought I could win the bet, but I haven't had a drop of blood since this stupid challenge started, and…" He sighed heavily. "I didn’t think it would get this bad."
You placed a hand on his cheek, feeling the chill beneath your fingertips. "You should’ve called me, Tommy. I was worried when I didn’t hear from you."
He closed his eyes, leaning into your touch. "I didn’t want you to see me like this. I thought I could tough it out."
Your heart softened, and you couldn’t help but smile at how stubborn he was, even now. "You and your need to win," you teased. "It’s not worth making yourself sick over, babe. You have to let this bet go."
Tom’s eyes opened, and he looked at you with a hint of desperation. "But Haz… he’ll never let me live it down if I back out now. I can't lose to him. Not again."
You sighed, shaking your head. "Who cares about Haz? You’re not doing yourself any favors by starving. Look at you—you're practically living in a refrigerator." You pressed a hand against his cold chest to emphasize your point. "And besides, he wouldn’t want you like this."
Tom groaned softly but stayed silent. It was clear the stubborn part of him didn’t want to admit defeat, but his body was betraying him.
"Tommy," you said gently, "you need to drink. You’re not going to make it another day like this."
He closed his eyes, his expression conflicted. "I don’t want to hurt you," he murmured. "I’ve been craving your blood this whole time, and if I—" He paused, swallowing hard, as if just the thought made him weak.
You smiled softly. "You’re not going to hurt me. You never have."
Tom’s hand reached out to yours, his thumb brushing over your wrist where your pulse beat steadily. He licked his lips, hesitating. "I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop if I start."
"You will," you assured him, leaning closer until your lips were brushing his ear. "I trust you."
Tom took a shuddering breath, his resolve weakening. His fingers tightened around your wrist, bringing it closer to his mouth. You watched as his eyes darkened, the veins beneath them becoming more pronounced as the hunger inside him took over.
He pressed his lips against your skin, his cool breath sending a shiver up your spine. "Are you sure?" He asked, his voice low and strained.
"Yes," you whispered.
And with that, his fangs slid into your skin. The familiar sharp sting was brief, and soon replaced by the warm, almost comforting sensation of Tom feeding. His grip on your wrist tightened, but not painfully, and you could feel the tension in his body easing as he drank. His pale complexion began to regain some of its usual warmth, the deep hunger fading from his eyes.
You began to feel lightheaded after a moment, and you gently placed your free hand on his shoulder. "Tom…"
He pulled back immediately, his eyes wide with concern. "Shit, sorry," he muttered, licking the last drop of blood from his lips. "I didn’t mean to take that much."
"It’s okay," you said softly, leaning back against the couch and taking a few deep breaths to steady yourself. "I’m fine. Just a bit dizzy."
Tom moved quickly, pulling you into his arms. "You shouldn’t have let me do that," he said, though his voice was softer now, less frantic.
"You needed it," you replied, resting your head against his chest. His skin was warm again, and the familiar comfort of his embrace made you relax. "Besides, I told you—I trust you."
Tom’s arms tightened around you, and he pressed a kiss to your forehead. "You’re too good to me," he murmured, his voice filled with guilt.
"I know," you teased, smiling up at him.
He chuckled softly, the sound vibrating through his chest. "Thank you," he said, his voice sincere. "For coming here. For…saving me from myself."
"Someone had to," you replied, poking him playfully in the side. "You’re hopeless."
Tom grinned, his eyes lighting up with amusement. "Hopelessly in love with you."
You rolled your eyes, though you couldn’t stop the smile that tugged at your lips. "Alright, drama queen. Let’s just cuddle and take it easy, okay?"
Tom didn’t need any more convincing. He pulled you closer, wrapping you in his arms as you both settled into the couch. With his warmth surrounding you and the faint sound of his steady breathing, you felt yourself begin to drift off, the exhaustion catching up with you.
Tom kissed the top of your head one last time, whispering, "I love you."
"I love you too, Tommy," you mumbled, snuggling deeper into his embrace as sleep finally overtook you.

Heyyyy do you have any headcanons for what avalance did during the six weeks between 7x12 and 7x13? :D
heyy thanks for the ask!! sorry it's taken so long to get to, and sorry if it may end up being a bit on the shorter side. it's been surprisingly hard to come up with ideas for this, which is kind of unfortunate cause i do love the idea lol. but anyway, hope you still enjoy!
-so, i imagine for the first few nights at least they probably stay with sara's dad, because like. they don't have a house or jobs or anything really. they don't even really have any like. legal documents or anything so. they gotta kinda find their footing a bit with all of that. but quentin really doesn't mind at all, and he assures them they can stay as long as they need to (which they're incredibly grateful for but they do try to get everything squared away as soon as they can, with a lot of help from quentin and team arrow, probably. especially felicity)
-once they do get everything squared away and find their own place, they try to get all of that stuff taken care of- furniture and everything, things like that. and finally once That's all taken care of, they get to enjoy it all
-it's a bit of a rough adjustment. they're excited to start this next chapter, this next adventure together but. it's hard to adjust to regular life when you've been living on a timeship with your closest friends (who are really family to you) for Years so it's. a work in progress. sara especially isn't used to the slowness of it all, and on more than one occasion finds herself out and about vigilante-ing, because she has a bit of an excess of restless energy that just won't go away. sometimes ava joins her, either for the purpose of letting out some of her own restlessness, or for the purpose of making sure sara's alright, and other times she doesn't and instead just lets sara do her thing, trusting that everything will be fine and sara is, of course, going to still come home to her
-they spend a lot of time with quentin still, even once they've got their own place, because sara didn't really get to see her dad as often as she might've liked with everything going on on the waverider all the time, and she missed him a lot. it's nice for the three of them to spend time together. sara's happy to be around her dad And ava, and ava's just really happy to see sara happy, and quentin is Ecstatic to spend time with his baby girl, as well as his now-daughter-in-law, and he just loves getting to witness how much they love each other and how happy they are together
-as much as sara (and ava, though to a slightly lesser extent) does get restless sometimes, they do really enjoy the slower, more domestic change of pace. even the most boring, mundane tasks. they're still boring, and there are some that neither of them particularly Enjoy but it's more fun that they get to do them together
-they especially love all of the lazy mornings they get to spend together, where they don't particularly have anywhere to be, so they get to wake up late and take their time, spend an extra while snuggling together under the sheets and not worrying about any potential timeline emergencies to drag them away
-sara makes sure they have a porch when they find their own place, so a lot of nights and mornings are spent together on it, drinking coffee or bourbon, watching the sunrise or the sunset together. maybe they have a porch swing, too, and they curl up together and enjoy the softness of those moments
-they of course also have the weekly family dinners with the legends in john's pocket dimension, and it's a highlight of the week every time because they do miss not seeing their team, their friends and Family, every single day like they did on the waverider, so. it's nice to be able to still see them and catch up on each other's lives
-also, inspired by that one deleted scene, they banter and bicker playfully a lot, because sara keeps insisting that they live on a farm and ava is like "babe no. our house is not a farm. we do not live on a farm. we have a yard." but sara is Very persistent, and frankly adorable about the whole thing, so ava always just finds herself laughing and shaking her head
-oh, kind of piggybacking off of the whole Yard thing, i think they would make time for a good amount of sparring sessions with each other, out in the yard, with the open space and the fresh air. it's good exercise and it keeps their skills sharp, and plus, well. it's just Fun. they enjoy it a lot. they also like to throw in the whole "do you want to take a break?" "i could use some water" thing here and there during the sparring sessions. they do other forms of exercise together too, like going on runs or hikes, things like that. they find a gym that they like and go to that sometimes as well
-also. y'know. i feel like i should mention. sex. they have a Lot of sex. just about everywhere in their house lmao
-just generally they enjoy all the different things together. the softness and the domesticity of it, the change of pace. it's nice, it feels good and of course they just. more than anything, they just love that they're doing it together
okay so actually not as short as i originally thought it might be lmao !! hope you enjoyed!

OMGGGG I’m actually in love w sahvi and dorian, I cannot stop thinking about asking them for self defense tips bc I need help defending myself from possible creeps :(
omg.....I can just imagine Dorian and Sahvi both spotting you at the gym while they're working out. Sahvi uses the public gym instead of the university's because she doesn't like changing or showering in front of her peers, so it gives her the chance to notice you as a newcomer while she's on the treadmill. Dorian's on the other side of the center mats at the weights, doing bench presses and kinda zoning out when he catches a glimpse of you fumbling with the equipment out of the corner of his eye. It's obvious you have no clue what you're doing. You're just gonna end up hurting yourself. You need help.
They both just kinda appear on either side of you when you're not paying attention, the two of them sharing a brief look before Sahvi flashes you a grin and Dorian looks down at you emotionlessly.
"Hey! You're new, huh? Need help?" She asks sweetly and with sincerity, and before long you're shyly babbling on about how you're just here to learn some self-defense...but you don't really know where to start. Dorian wants to get you on some light exercises to build muscle first, whereas Sahvi insists on letting you try stuff out for yourself so you can see what feels right. They never seem to agree but there doesn't appear to be any conflict between them--Dorian spots you while Sahvi lets you have at the equipment with some instruction, and Sahvi cheers you on when Dorian runs you through rigorous exercises and puts you through your paces. They both clearly know what they're doing, and somehow they can navigate each other's personalities seamlessly when there's someone between them who needs their attention.
Eventually, when you're watching Sahvi demonstrate some punches on the sandbag with Dorian, he asks why you want to learn self-defense. Maybe there's a brief pause, a wonder whether you should tell these two strangers your stories or not. But maybe you tell them about the times you were struck by people you trusted, or when you've been assaulted, or harassed, followed home, touched inappropriately, or threatened for simply telling someone 'no'. Maybe they're stories you've heard so many times from other people and they've scared you to the point of feeling like you need to protect yourself preventatively. By the time you finish explaining, Sahvi's thrown her fist into the punching bag so hard the chain snaps and it goes flying off the stand it hung on to tumble across the floor. Her knuckles are noticeably bruised but she turns to you with a smile and promises that it's fine! She breaks those bags all the time, clenching her teeth as she tries to keep her emotions in check.
You don't get to leave the gym that day without their phone numbers, for one, and without being safely walked to your car, the station, or home for two. They have more they can teach you and you don't have to pay them back--you're a beginner, so it's no hassle to train you in their free time. Besides, when you're at the gym, Sahvi will have a sparring partner and Dorian will get to try his new training techniques for clients on you. They'll get to focus on someone who truly needs their help...and they can keep an eye on you to make sure nobody fucks with such a kind and gentle-hearted person, unless they want to know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of some unwanted, painful attention. Besides, if you really insist on treating them after awhile...well, neither of them would say no to examining how well you've progressed, and checking out the results of all those pushups in a motel room down the road <3

The newest bendy bites be absolutely peak I’m all the more for it (I would love to rant forever about this but sadly sleep is needed for a brain to function so this will do)
First of - first Aid
The transition between food in the cycle and how it works for healing… (besides Henry… is not like this for some reason, he literally just has a passive constant healing effect in Batim it’s never acknowledged nor questioned even then Dark revival speaificly set up, idk if it will be the same in The Cage, admittedly kinda doubt it but it would be just an extra layer of fucked if Joey designed Henry to heal form his injuries at a rapid enough pace where he can get hurt, heal back up, and get hurt again without “dying”) gigantic rant aside. It’s unclear if the Ink demon can even get hurt physically enough for the sake of needing food to survive - or simply based of the fact he’s a gigantic ink monster that’s also a living breathing being that gets hungry and needs to eat a lot just to keep himself vigilant and perhaps not as “mindless” (cus like… he can’t starve to death, surely and sadly the Keepers would have found that out quickly) like say Batim pre “evolving”
It’s sadly not a topic that’s explored even then getting consumed is perma death in the cycle by itself (Inky, the widow king, Shipohoy Wilson & Steve respectively I belive to be the only ones we know can achieve this in DR)
My gibberish aside- Inky & Bendy would know that getting hurt in the cycle you’d need like a nice snack of a whole meal just to recover. Audery having fallen and scrapped up her knee on her way home from work and bleeding isn’t gonna magically fix itself in the real world. And that may very well take a good few attempts to really stick, yet even the cartoon logic and probably flexibility of Audrey’s body that few take advantage of will probably cause her to get less hurt but like… Shipohoy still snapped her legs at the top femur - bones are infact still in there. So Audrey would either have to teach him how wounds work, maybe some anatomy and what is really bad for a body to actually break or damaged and what is truely severe and what needs prioritizing (like how to hurt people who hurt his sister and make it hurt truely last)
Still, it could be something he’d mock her for probably in being clumsy and getting hurt, but I can also see him being worried about her for it. Not knowing what to do and feeling frustrated or helpless at food nor working anymore, so having to think and do other methods to ensure that she is safe and out of harms way. Could progress into learning more of the inner workings of animals to or simply Audery also returning the favors figuring out how to help Bendy in either of his form if he ever gets messed up. Just stuff like that
Thank you!!! I love rants but I'm glad you've chosen to prioritize sleep, haha. Also, these are good good thoughts, thank you for sharing 🥰
There would certainly be a tall learning curve for Bendy regarding injuries in the real world.
I imagine the Keepers would have done everything possible to kill Bendy and obviously it just doesn't work, including starvation. He doesn't need to eat, but he enjoys it a lot. It's his first and favorite hobby lol
He can get injured/stabbed/crushed but he heals really, really quickly. Like Henry, he would have a passive healing factor but much higher/faster. He doesn't have a lot of experience getting injured except for the Keepers.
I'm thinking he'll either have the same healing factor as in the ink world or it will be somewhat slowed. Leaning toward the latter because the idea of Audrey having to teach him first aid is cute. Imagine he trips and scrapes his knee and freaks out that he's still bleeding even tho it's been more than 2 seconds. He thinks he's dying and Audrey has to explain that injuries don't get magically healed here. She bandages his booboo and gives it a lil' kiss. Then, the next day it's her turn to be baffled because the injury is completely gone and she has to revise her statement about magical healing.
Imagine he actually believes her kiss healed him and she's just like, actually, I may have been wrong about you not being able to heal here, oops
Audrey is definitely more resilient than the average person but not invincible, like you said. She might able to bend her finger back pretty far but she still has bones that can break.
If Audrey ever got hurt he would totally do the thing where your sibling falls and your first reaction is to laugh your head off until you realize they're still on the ground and the worry hits. Then he would try to fix it by bringing her a snack. Audrey has to explain multiple times that injuries take time to heal in the outside world and he is very mad about it. Eventually, he would get used to it but secretly starts keeping a list of reasons the ink world is superior to the real world. He never shares it because it's a much shorter list than he expected.
Quick tangent, I don't think he's so naive that he wouldn't know what death is, but I do think he might forget how it works. Imagine he kills something, a bird or a deer and Audrey finds its half-eaten remains. She would scold him for being wasteful and he'd be like, If I eat all of it then it won't come back. Audrey has to remind him several times that death is permanent here and that deer isn't coming back no matter what.
Queue anxiety about Audrey permadying and she also has to remind him that the cycle is wayyyy more dangerous and that her chances of dying there (and possibly getting consumed) are way higher than in the real world.
Fun thoughts, thank you for the ask 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍

I know a lot of people feel in their early days, Jimin was kinda heavy-handed with his attention on Jungkook, but I think Jimin acted that way primarily for Jungkook's benefit. I mean it's clear Jimin has cared for Jungkook deeply since debut but I feel the way he displayed it, so loudly and sometimes almost obnoxiously, acted as a key stabilizing and assuring force for JK in an environment that could've easily overwhelmed him.
This is a fresh take on the whole dynamic. I’ve never thought of it from this perspective or never seen anyone else point it out. Is it a popular thought? I felt that Jimin was only playing the extremely manly flirty character that he was asked to play and it’s the popular theory too. Tho’ it wasn’t sitting well because this is the same guy who gave JHope his fan letters and questioned stereotypes and was ok with wearing a pink dress in AHL etc etc.
***
Yeah… I’m not sure I can call it a theory, not to talk of if it's popular. It’s just how I saw them at the time, and it still feels consistent with how I’ve seen their interactions and relationship progress.
Jimin had his role to play in the group just as they all did. That’s true. But I also think, with what we know of Jungkook’s personality and their environment, their relationship could be easily explained, considering.
I mean, let’s think about it. The idol industry is incredibly fast-paced, hectic beyond what anyone can imagine, Jungkook was still in school when they debuted and had to juggle their activities with his classes. We know that when Jimin was still in school, he’d wake up at 6:30 AM and then after school, practice till around 2:30 AM before going to bed. We know from jikook’s words that Jungkook was often with him for some of this time, sometimes even sleeping with him in the practice room. So, JK was putting in work too, perhaps not to the same levels Jimin did, but Jungkook was also younger than him. All the guys had big responsibilities already, and it’s clear from footage in their early days that all of them were all just trying to stay afloat mentally, physically, and otherwise.
In that sort of environment, at that period of Jungkook’s development, with his age and what I suspect to be possible neurodivergent traits, it would’ve been very easy for him to get swept away, in a sense. To become overwhelmed and 'detach', develop unhealthy coping habits and such. Jungkook is someone who by his own admission, needs a lot of love. All the members made sure to keep an eye on him, but Jimin seemed to take it upon himself to love Jungkook, loudly. To shower him with attention as though to remind him, "I see you", "I'm watching you", "I'm in your corner always and I'm here for you".
Jimin obviously loved and cared for Jungkook back then, and it was mutual, but the way he went about showing it was one of the biggest indications of his emotional intelligence, to me. He was mocked for how he appeared to be all over Jungkook, the members too would make fun of him, but I don't think he was stupidly, blindly 'in love'. At least not quite at that point. I think he showed remarkable awareness of his own emotions, Jungkook's needs, and the environment they were in. And Jimin used all of that to his advantage and to Jungkook's benefit because it served the purpose of emotionally assuring JK, while improving JK's profile within the group (people look more desirable when it seems other people desire them), further building his confidence.
It's remarkable to me that before they debuted when Jungkook got overwhelmed and said he wanted to quit BTS to become a company dancer, the person he went to with that worry was Jimin. Jimin who was the last trainee to join their agency - so, a relatively recent addition to the group. That, to me, shows one way their bond was already quite deep, even back then, a connection that I think Jimin was intentional on developing with Jungkook. When they had their infamous rainy day fight, when all the other members sort of tossed their hands in the air after letting loose on JK, it sticks out to me that the breaking point for Jungkook was Jimin telling him, "You know what, do whatever you like. I won't care for you anymore."
Jimin's presence in Jungkook's life can't be overstated. I think over time, as Jungkook grew up and matured, he recognized how integral Jimin was to him, began to better acknowledge Jimin's needs as well and their relationship became deeper, more reciprocal and balanced. And that's how we ended up with GCF in Tokyo, as an example. I also feel this 'dance' of recognizing each other's needs and loving each other in-line with their personal boundaries, is an ongoing process for them.
