Since watching the Minecraft Movie and revisiting Minecraft in general, ive learn a few things. and i just have to share this with everyone because its insane and i need people to know about this rabbit hole.

spoilers for the movie if anyone cares lmao

In the Movie, a very predominant item is the Orb of Dominance. Now me being absolutely insane about the franchise immediately knew it was a reference to Minecraft Dungeons. TLDP, The Orb is used by the main villain, The Arch-Illager (or Archie if you're also in the trenches like i am), and is shattered for the DLCs and later destroyed completely.

SO. you might think, this connection is just a reference or a call back, yeah?

WELL.

me and a lot of others noticed how the Movie also basically borrows the main concept of Minecraft Legends (TLDP the Piglins invade the Overworld and guided by three deities we save the day yippee) and converts it into live action.

Originally, i thought this was a weird thing to do. Why use an object from Dungeons in a story taken from Legends? Well (I hope this is surprising to other people) the two games are connected???????

Apparently theres a prequel story for Dungeons and in the story it literally says its the same Orb; The Seer (a character from Legends who had the Orb and looks A LOT like Malgosha (villain of the Movie)) had the orb before it was found by Archie in the mountains.

This is so weird to me, mainly because why is this thing so important to Minecraft lore???

It originates from Dungeons, was reused in Legends breifly, and is a main part of the movie. And it's not like its just the two.

The opening of Legends DIRECTLY links to the Main Universe of Minecraft (dont even get me started on how theres a multiverse) and the Movie is clearly supposed to be Minecraft and not the world of Legends. AND THEN the Orb is originally from the End??? since it's true form (this thing has a true form omfg) is the Heart of Ender. its literally an Enderman with a bunch of arms.

What does all of this mean? i dunno lmao. BUT if the next spinoff Minecraft thing has the Orb im gonna scream.

last minute edit: they didn't destroy the orb in the movie, meaning theres a chance for it to be plot relevant in the sequel, and/or for the end connection to come back. also they didn't address how it got from the Overworld to the Real World, so thats something they could do too,,,,
