Fun fact: Smokescreen actually gets featured in the tf rid 2015 comics. He doesn't actually come into the story, tho which is severally disappointing. I would've loved to see him interact with Sideswipe. But alas. It will never be.

Starscream used to be super self conscious about the spark-flowers growing on his frame, as it is a dead giveaway of his condition. Most of his discomfort was caused by the cruel comments of his "colleagues", tho. Luckily, a yellow angry bot came to his rescue one day. Bee cannot suffer mech being mean towards other bots, especially bots with an handicap/condition. @goopylizardthingy

Fast forward, Windblade has lured Starscream and Bee into the Caminoan tradition of sharing their spark-flowers with loved ones. Braiding elaborate crowns of self-grown spark-flowers onto their partners' frame is one of the most direct way a Caminoan shows their affection and belonging to one another. At this point Starscream is no longer self conscious and will participate in this "frivolous" act, to show his affection towards his sparkmates. (Old Cybertron society frowned against this practice, because of the generalised hate towards Botanicas (aka spark-eaters). It was common in the society of Camino because it was mainly composed of Botanicas.) @quailrocks
