“Hmmm,” Michael says, and he tosses the end of his joint into the fire. “Jeremy’s like that,” he says, then he sighs irritably, “Sorry. I know I talk about him all the fucking time.”

“No worries, we know you’re in love with him,” Connor says, and Michael groans and drops his head to stare at the slowly darkening sky.  

“Is it that obvious?”

“Full offense, yeah,” Connor says, and Evan laughs abruptly at ‘full offense’.

“By the way, I totally lied. I know I’m not straight. I don’t know if I’m gay, but, clearly I’m not straight,” Michael says. “I just don’t tell people.”

seriously i'm cracking myself up here. i'm gonna be sooo disappointed when i get to the end of this WIP i wrote and the author hasn't finished it. fuck

Every once in awhile, I miss my Dear Evan Hansen hyperfixation and wish I could get back into it. I still have so many unfinished fic ideas and fic requests. I kept them all. If you sent me one, it’s still waiting to be written. But the Steddie hyperfixation has been fierce

“Yah, which is arguably good enough in this situation. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Evan, but people are fucking mean to Connor Murphy.”

“Yeah, you’re one of them,” Evan says. He feels slighted, for some reason. Usually Evan gets annoyed at Jared, but not enough to snap. Now, he feels genuine anger bubbling up at his so-called friend.

Writing a treebros fic where Connor fainting is a regular occurrence and I keep thinking to myself while writing this "ugh everyone is gonna think you're a loser because you aren't going into detail and you probably don't actually faint all the time your brain just tricks you so you have no room to write this" directly after passing out trying to put something on my big shelf above my bed before I had a bedframe (bc I hadn't eaten anything but toast and having my arms up too high too long tends to do that to me) and slamming my head into my wall💀

3. how you feel about your current WIP

The biggest one that applies to all of them is guilty, honestly. I wish I could figure out how to make myself write consistently and finish projects, but I also feel like if I was a Real Writer™ it would just come so naturally that I wouldn't want to do anything else.

4. a story idea you haven’t written yet

So during a time when I was feeling particularly frustrated with my aforementioned Grown-Up Married Family Planning AU, I coped and seethed by cooking up a story that would essentially be the polar opposite of it: an Unplanned (Transmasc) Teenage Pregnancy Resulting in a Road Trip to Obtain a Parental Involvement-Less Abortion with Your Only Friend Who You Are Not Dating and Who Is Not and I Cannot Stress This Enough Not the Person Responsible for Your Unplanned Pregnancy AU.

But that was too long for a doc file, so I called it "If You Walk Away, Walk Away (I Will Follow)" after the U2 song that plays over the abortion montage from The Last American Virgin, a movie I'm certain that Jared Kleinman has seen.

It includes such banger moments as "Jared realizing that Evan thinks he's for real homophobic," "There are multiple beds but they're choosing to get one to save money," "Referencing David Cronenberg's The Fly in response to emotional vulnerability," "I can write Treebros but only under the most hilariously fucked up circumstances I can possibly imagine," "Sobbing in a parking lot over a Big Mac," and "Jared would rather cause a car accident than have Evan find out he still listens to the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Cats."

It is possibly one of the very best, most delightful ideas I have ever come up with--and I have written an outline and absolutely nothing else.
