Controversially, final shot aside, I actually felt like this arc was the strongest ARC out of this entire season. Mostly I think that's because it's so simple in comparison to the other arcs. Mon's story is done now and so is Bix's so we never have to focus on either of them. They let Luthen and Kleya dominate the first episode so that the final two can focus entirely on Cassian's relationship with the rebellion and the Empire eating its own. I have some nitpicky issues with some of the dialogue and some issues with the season overall, but in general I think that this arc actually works quite well and there weren't any storylines that felt exceptionally weak.
It's not super bombastic, but it IS focusing in more on the emotions of it all, on wrapping up the thing that brought everyone to this place and what that means to them. They're all exactly where they need to be and there's one person who connects them all and, in the grand tradition of both Andor and Rogue One, we spend the entire storyline passing information along, passing the baton to the next person and the next to just make sure it gets to the right person in the right place at the right time.
Andor has never been about the big bombastic action sequences, it's about those little individual choices everyone has to make each day that define who you are choosing to be and how that will impact who you become. It's about the ripple effect of those choices, the way they impact not just you but the world around you in ways you might never expect. So having this final arc acknowledge that all of those ripples have led them here, into the story that we know, works really well for me.

Hi :)
Who really makes decision about the state visit? My understanding is that the monarch issues invite on the advice of the government (practically, the uk government wants state visit and the uk monarch just do his/her job).
But then, today PM and the leader of the opposition stated that state visit is a matter for the king??
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14452807/Starmer-says-Trumps-state-visit-invite-matter-King-No10-signals-unprecedented-honour-WONT-withdrawn-Tories-distance-party-MP-calling-axe.html
Could BP manage this whole conversation better? Was there a need for it? It feels like politicians put british royals in the place they should not be (just my feeling, and not about their job-receiving presidents, but feeling about messages that were put out there).
Hello :) We were going to discuss this in the podcast that's coming tomorrow but we ended up talking about something else so we're planning on addressing it next week, provided everything goes as planned. But in short it's outlined very clearly on every official source that the invitation is given by the monarch on advice of the government (which in practice means they tell him what to do and he always says yes but he theoretically could say no). I don't actually think he was trying to say "oh it's not my decision, it was all Charles." Maybe I'm misreading it but Kemi Badenoch - the leader of the Tories/Opposition - was also asked about the opposition to the invite because some in her own party have gone rogue and criticised the decision and her statement was "personal views of individual MPs are not official Conservative Party positions. In practical terms, the state visit is a matter for the King who extended the invitation, and not for MPs." Kemi isn't blaming the King there, she's saying "don't step out of line, this decision is not for you to make" to her own MPs (I don't agree with her by the way but that is what she was doing). I think that's what Keir was trying to get at too. Laura - the interviewer - asked him about opposition from the SNP etc and he started his answer with the bit about the King and then immediately got interrupted by Laura challenging that. He then tried to hurriedly move them on and basically said that the SNP are wrong to criticise. So I think if he hadn't been interrupted he would have said essentially what Kemi did: the invitation is the King's to give officially and so once extended by him it's not up to individual MPs to undermine it or go against the party line. I don't think he was trying to say "well it's not my business, I just did what I'm told" because he knows and Laura knows that's false. I think he just phrased it in a clumsy way.
And my view is why should BP wade into the story when at present the public and political backlash is not actually being aimed at Charles specifically? That comment - said by both Kemi and Keir - hasn't gained massive traction and the few comments I've seen on Charles have been around how he's done well, managing to be one of the few people who got a glowing reaction from both Trump and Zelensky in the same time period. If people start to turn on him or if they're asked for comment they can direct people to the website, but I wouldn't insert myself into an argument no one invited me to!

DCRC Week 8. In week 10.
This is normal at this point, but this time I have an excuse for being late! Vacation! But everybody else is taking naps so like come on now's the perfect time to read Dangerous Disguise by Carl Barks, obviously. Oh wait hold on let me get on Club Pengui.n
First thought I like how they phrased it that the only reason he'd send them on a vacation is if he NEEDED them out of duckburg at the moment. alright donald your bad luck is only going to make things worse here lets get you and the boys out on holiday. Here, go ruin the mediteranian
im so mad i just like. looked down a textbox and thats literally what donald confirms help
Okay there we go I'm in now we can REALLY read this story, which I've heard is generally bonkers but I'm unaware of the extent
Lord the humans are uncanny. by now i've gotten used to some of the basically humans with dog noses but these are just. kinda humans. 50s comic style humans yes but they're sitll humans
i love how the triplets' gut reactions to remembering that spies exist is accusing every single person around them of being a spy. shoutout to that guy with a long beard though he's just here to have a good time
Tumblr media
needed to include the picture actually. he deserves to stand on the shore and gaze wistfully into the ocean
no don't worry guys donald flirting with real human woman is par for the course right now. for context i just came back from gran fiesta tour featuring the three cabs, a ride where like the movie donald goes after real human women
it might be cliche but madame triple x might just slap as a spy name. i thought about a certain friend's certain duck oc for a split second. you know the one
i like how the spy and the counter spy are complimentary colors. donald just sees a man shaking at the thought of a lady and he's like ok. i get it you don't even wanna deal with this right now
Tumblr media
i know this joke has been done to death but the fact they all have the same gun got a good chuckle out of me
Tumblr media
what if i started using this as a reaction image. maybe not because of the me but oo la la and that pose is speaking to me right now
chiliburgeria. chiliburgers probably are a thing but i've never exactly thought about one actively before
Tumblr media
tied with beard guy this is the best background character
THEY JUST KILLED A GUY OKAY we're not even that many pages in and the triplets have already killed a guy that they don't even know--that guy could have been working for the US government and they would have absolutely no idea because you literally cannot tell
donald just got a power rush after killing the guy he's like HELL YEAH . im a REAL SPY NOW no you're not
Tumblr media
this guy's fit slaps. i like to think the nevermind in his declaration speech means that he un-countered at some point. a rogue counterspy that decided to counterspy for a different spy organization.
Tumblr media
donald's fucking luck i'm giggling so much in public i'm so. this comic is great i think i needed a dumb fun read today
IM SO MAD great excuse to save him. labor unions saved donald duck everybody
Tumblr media
the way the stakes are escalating in these old cartoons i just. taking a concept and running with it
IM SO MAD the way donald is like "my bad luck! when are you gonna kick in!" and the universe was just like "lmao time to spend your vacation fighting a bull"
THE VERY SMALL PANEL everyone is utilizing the very small panel but its. the single best part of the comic they're so little. they're so teeny. carl barks knew it. the secret secret service. i'm so. this comic got my grandparent to ask me what i was laughing at so that's a really big compliemnt. im excited to read more of these random little duck stories in the future

((Life for me has pretty much been: Wake up at 8am. Desperately try to get more sleep until 9 (usually I doze off for, like, 2 or 3 minutes at a time and that's it). Get ready for work. Leave between 9:30 and 9:45. Work from 10-1:30-ish (it's supposed to be until 1:15 but I'm never out of there on time). Get home around 1:45. Leave for work part 2 around 2:30. That goes from at least 3-7, usually closer to 7:20 when I finally leave (sometimes stay until 8 or 9). Get home between 7:30 and 7:45. Make a quick dinner, shower, etc. Around 8:30, watch Ba.tt.le.st.ar Gal.act.ica with a couple of friends (if things work out, this couple may eventually be more than just my friends, but we'll see how that goes ^^;) until about 10:30, then chat with them for a bit after that, usually until almost 11. Bedtime routine (wash face, brush teeth, etc etc). Then stare at drafts until midnight when I realize I need to get to bed because I know I'll be up earlier than I need to be. Then the weekends have consisted a lot of babysitting, running errands, and trying to finish unpacking here and there because it's been 4 months and finding time to unpack has been a pain in the ass with everything that's constantly going on. Also, I spent 3 hours on Saturday putting together a kitchen cabinet- thankfully we have extra screwdrivers because the phillip's-head screwdriver they included was such bad quality that it was messed up and unusable less than half an hour in because the metal of it was so soft -_-
ANYWAY- Work both shifts the rest of the week (except Friday, but only because I don't have to do the second shift, still have the first). Saturday we're going out for my dad's birthday (which was actually last week, but we couldn't make things work for going out last weekend like we'd wanted to). Saturday night is also game night, as usual. Then Sunday I *should* have some free time, but I also desperately need to get some cleaning done that's being semi-neglected throughout the week. So what I'm saying is Sundays are chore days.
If things go well, I should, soon, only be working the first shift in another week or two (with the second shift just being Fridays and when absolutely needed)? Right now both my sister and I are stuck doing the second shift every night (and have been since before mid-winter break last month) because the custodial staff is down two people (one girl broke her leg and has been out since October, I think? And the other has been on temporary (paid) probation since early February while they consider whether or not to fire him and go through all the legal jargon of all of that). But they should be coming to a decision about that soon, I would hope, which would mean that if he gets to come back, then we won't be working nights unless someone calls out. And if he doesn't come back, then they should be hiring someone to fill his place so we'll just have to wait until someone snags the job (hopefully, in that case, they'll offer it to my sister first because usually they try to offer it to substitutes and she really wants it, but we'll see). They're also slowly running out of budget for substitutes, so, that's something to consider, too.
ANYWAY- TL;DR: I've basically had no writing time / personal time and that's why I've not been around. Hopefully work stuff will calm down soon because leaving the house around 9:30am and not really getting to be home until usually after 7:30pm (sometimes 8:30pm or 9:30pm) has been exhausting ^^;
I'll try to be around on Sunday (probably focus on Rogue's blog because I've been writing the fic in my head at work most nights so I have a lot of muse for her AND her blog has been sorely neglected for at least a few months now WHICH MAKES ME SO MAD AT MYSELF). If I can even get one or two asks done, then I'll consider that an accomplishment at this point!
I'm so sorry about the long absence. I'm sorry to everyone for neglecting replies. I'm sorry to everyone I was writing with and haven't had the time / social and physical energy / emotional capacity to reach back out to in a while. That's on me. I dropped the ball on that. I've never been good at ooc communication anyway, tbh. I was really hoping things would be a little bit calmer after I moved, but instead they went in exactly the opposite direction and haven't really slowed down any since November. In fact, they've just gotten more hectic over the last few months ^^;
I adore you all so much and I really do hope that I can get back to writing soon. I've been missing it (and all of you) terribly.
Take care and I'll try to be around soon <3))

Oooooh, that'd be so fun! But also, this little scene popped up in my head as soon as I read, "Jazz as Oracle":
Just as Tim was about to leave the Cave after delivering the latest samples from a Rogue attack, the Bat computer's screen lit up with a picture of Oracle on it.
She... Looked so much like Jazz it hurt. Well. A very, very overworked and underpaid Jazz. Which, was exactly what one Barbara Gordon WAS. To be honest, most superheroes were. At least in this life he got a great paycheck and an actual future to go with all the shitty trauma. Hurray for trust fund babies, I guess. Even when dropping out of highschool, you can get an amazing job.
"..im?! TIM!?!"
..Ah. He spaced out while staring at her. Awkward.
"Hey Babs. Sorry about that. What do you need?"
"Are you okay, Tim?? I called you like 10 times..."
"Yeah, just a bit tired. I'm going to sleep for like a week after this case," he jokes. Like they ever had time for that much sleep, but he's incredibly tempted to go on a damn vacation from his day job just to get over himself enough to get work done as efficiently as possible again. These memories were incredibly inconvenient, especially when it involved regaining past powers when one worked on a team of POWERLESS individuals. Yeah... Life hates him.
"Living the dream right there," she jokes right back, but he can tell through her eyes that she's still worried about him. "Anyway, I'm just doing another info drop on the case, and just wanted to check in on you, what with that fight with Scarecrow a week ago... You know you can rely on the girls and I to cover for your patrol or talk to any of us about what happened if you want, right? You aren't alone, Tim. We're here for you if you need us."
Sigh. Of course. Ever since that night and after recovering enough to function, then basically telling them to fuck off in more polite words (and then later in less polite words when they kept bothering him), they've all been hounding him with all of this feel good shit they don't even actually believe in when it comes to him. He was so over it it's not even funny. He couldn't repress his bitter chuckle.
"Are you kidding me? I'm definitely not useful enough to you to ask for that sort of thing. See ya, O. I got shit to do."
And with that, he turned around, marched to his bike, and revved out of the Cave like the hounds of hell were after him. He didn't notice nor care to notice the absolutely stunned face of one Barbara Gordon as she watched him leave.
This... Definitely complicated things. Bruce was going to have a conniption. Dick... Oh, DICK... Barbara was already getting a headache over the wailing he'll no doubt be doing once he finds out what Tim thinks of them all. If she could get them all to stay alone in a room with a therapist, she'd literally beg Harley to help them with as much of their issues as possible. But it was like trying to herd CATS with these idiots. Tim especially. He was the wiliest cat of all of them. Sigh. Well there goes her already booked evening. She's so glad her couch is the comfiest cloud to rest on. She's gonna need it after this shit show of a debrief. (But if it could somehow help Tim, then she would consider it worth it.)
Screaming into the night
Danny is reborn as tim.
Tim gets his memories back near the beginning of his robin run when he still has a rocky relationship with Bruce. He’s scared and keeps his mouth shut. This goes on for years never getting the right time to be revealed.
It isn't until the scarecrow uses a new fear gas that it comes up. Tim is hit and has to relive the portal incident. He is screaming with no brakes and does not respond to anyone.
The bat family has idea what he is seeing but they do find out from scarecrows taunting that the gas makes you relive your most painful memories. The entire family is wondering when this happened and when Tim wakes up he is not going to be very forthcoming.
