tell me why it never clicked to me to search up the meaning of the name Keith 🧍🏻‍♀️

(i love google) It's a Scottish surname (also first name) that originates from the Gaelic word ceiteach // ceit which means “woodland” or “forest” and how fitting is that for him?? like the moment they go to Olkarion and he's looking at the outdoors, he says, "I like it out here. It's quiet" (s2e4). I feel like there are more instances of him expressing/showing his love for the outdoors, but I can't seem to remember any ahaha.

Keith living in the desert shack in isolation after Shiro went missing on the Kerberos mission is kinda tricky, but I gotta remind myself that canonly speaking, VLD Keith is an independent guy with a big heart (he does so much sacrificing for team Voltron, and he's constantly doing stuff for the greater good). I don't think he inherently likes being alone -- the poor guy has abandonment issues, and he's so lonely my heart breaks for him -- but I definitely think he appreciates nature. He has a hard time accepting and trusting people because of how he grew up, but he's never been let down by the outdoors. I think he finds a lot of solace in it, and I love how fitting this love is with his name :)

ITMF for fics where Wei Wuxian is a bit (or a lot) more angry at the cultivation world. At their bigotry and cruelty, corruption and ignorance to the suffering of innocents. Where he really reacts to everything that happened to him and his, admits to himself how hurt he really was and still is, how he does not deserve it. Speaks or screams about it cleanly, exposes their flaws with words and actions.

Maybe he says "go to hell" and leaves to live heal on a faraway island with lemurs and bunnies, leaving the cultivation world to rip itself apart with political conflicts or just rot like a swamp.

Maybe he takes revenge, either with calm head or in saint anger-induced agression, though i would prefer him as still the Wei Ying we know and love (like, more bitter, and on the same level of violence as the MDZS itself is, but no sudden OOC with him becoming a tyrant, or commiting genocide just for it's sake, etc.)

I don't mind there being or not being any good people among the sects, but if he gets someone nice and kind to snuggle at the end or stand by his side, it would be awesome.

Can also be an ending where Wei Ying remains bitter, angry and depressed and does not let these feelings go, though please mention that there is an open/unhappy ending. Thank you!! ✨️🥰 @shellennium

9. Hey! So I've come to realize that I have quite the masochistic streak when it comes to reading WangXian, so the angst is chef's kiss these days.

This goes for the ITMF fics, so I re-read "Honesty is the Best Policy (Except if You're an Asshole)" by piecrust, and oh, the burn was so good!!! I mean, I did want to bang Lan Wangji's head on a wall a couple dozen times throughout the fic, but I liked it. No, I loved it rather.

So please do me the biggest favour and give me fic recs where Lan Wangji is a complete asshole to Wei Wuxian but also like he has to realize that he's being really really mean for no damn reason and over-compensate because please let the man grovel. I liked how piecrust portrayed the characters, so yeah. I don't mind if it is Canon or AU, I just need some fics to relinquish the sudden thirst for these types of fics.

For context, the premise is based on a manga/anime/BL drama called Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! where the main character wakes up on his 30th birthday with the power to hear the thoughts of anyone he touches, which leads to him finding out the super cool guy at work is a dweeb and is also in love with him. It's adorable and hilarious and I highly recommend it!

✏️"what are your current WIPs about?"

I...have a truly terrifying number of WIPs. So I'll stick to the ones that are either particularly interesting or that I intend to eventually post.

fool me twice — A Tim-centric fic where some of Bruce's more recent physical abuse leaks into the 90s where Tim was initially Robin. It starts small and slowly gets worse and worse. Tim keeps trying to draw lines, but he shifts them back every time Bruce crosses them. About 1/3rd to 2/5ths of this fic is written, and I go back to reread it sometimes, but I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. It's kind of a spiritual precursor to fool me thrice, to the point where I cannibalized the name, but it's a distinct story.

Reverse Robins Damian Discussion — Set in my Reverse Robins AU. When Jason realizes that Tim was worried about him being around Bruce and Damian, he's afraid that he's in danger. Tim is like, "oh, Damian grew up, and Bruce hated Damian specifically, so you're fine". Jason asks questions and Tim theorizes on why exactly Bruce and Damian's relationship was so awful and why it's better now. This story serves as a bridge between Damian's time as Robin and the present day.

Two Truths and a Lie — Inspired by Batman and Catwoman debating the circumstances of their meeting. Jason has a conversation with Talia, but he can't remember which version of canon is true. It's very uncomfortable. I probably won't finish this one.

Robin Hood — In a universe where Jason didn't die, Tim ends up in foster care after his parents' kidnapping goes south. Unfortunately, Tim doesn't quite have the computer skills that Batman and Oracle taught him, but he's still no slouch. Between trying to pass his classes, deal with his neglectful and ever-so-slightly abusive foster parents, and prevent himself from being lost in Gotham's corrupt foster care system, Tim has his hands full. Still, he finds himself drawn to Gothem's vigilantes. So when Batman goes missing (due to Bane) and substitute Batman attacks a Robin who has nowhere to go, Tim tries to help.

Hallucinatory Cellmate — Jason ends up trapped in some sort of magic stasis zone, an infinite expanse of white. He's just starting to go crazy when Tim shows up, equally trapped. Over the next few weeks, Jason gets to know Tim. But when he escapes, it turns out Tim was just a hallucination, and Tim isn't nearly as pathetic and forgiving as how Jason hallucinated him, and Jason has to reconcile his imaginary version of Tim with the real one.

Better Than Batman — Near the end of Post-Crisis, Jason Todd is captured in all his unhinged glory. One by one, his family talk to him and try to convince him to stop killing. Whether they're successful or not, I have yet to decide, but this is my attempt to explore exactly what unconventional arguments the Bats might make that actually have the potential to convince Jason.

Calling All the Monsters — A murderous comedy. Damian's attack on Red Robin is more successful than he expected. After Damian cuts his line, an injured Tim manages to escape into an assassin-infested Gotham. Damian decides that he has passed the point of no return and needs to kill Tim, even though he feels guilty for what he did. He teams up with various shady figures, including Red Hood and Prudence Wood, thinking they're all helping him kill Tim. Meanwhile, they all think they're helping Damian save Tim. Tim thinks everyone is trying to kill him.

Burden — Dick leaves Wayne Manor after Bruce fired him. If he is no longer Batman's partner, he knows has no place in Bruce's home. But when the heat is broken in his cheap apartment, Dick is forced to swallow his pride and return home.

it beckons me to stay — An exploration of Tim and Damian's brotherhood set 5-10 years in the future. In the intervening years, the rest of the family has died. They are both extremely traumatized.

Pawn to D3 — Reverse Robins Titans Tower AU (but not set in my main RR universe). Tim breaks into Titans Tower to kill Jason. It's not personal, but he needs to provoke Bruce, and killing a vigilante is better than killing a random civilian. If Batman needs a villain, Tim will give him one. (Eventually he snaps out of it and realizes that treating a teenager as a pawn in a war is Bad, even if he’s also treating himself like a chess piece.)

Tim Befriends the Gremlin — Described here!

Flood Sequel — Literally a sequel for Flood lol. Reverse Robins. Jason befriends Dick. Tim mentors them both. When Tim finally confronts Bruce, it goes…differently than expected, thanks to his little brothers’ interference.

Be My Robin Fic — This one is almost done! A Tim joins Jason during Battle for the Cowl AU. In a universe where Batman was just a bit worse and just a bit more out of control, the idea of having to work with a cruel, murderous Batman doesn't seem so unusual to Tim. Plus, Tim knows that Damian has to be Robin to get him to stay. So, Tim gets a new Batman.

Tornado — Five times Reverse Robins!Damian was uprooted + one time he found home. Features Damian navigating his fraught relationships with Bruce, Duke Thomas, Tim Drake, and Jonathan Kent as he grows up.

Haunted House — Jason steals Batman's tires two years earlier than in canon, and the effects cascade from there. Bruce doesn't make Jason Robin, but he does adopt him. Meanwhile, Dick is still in Wayne Manor, but he and Bruce are on the outs. Jason overhears some extremely out-of-context conversations, sees that Dick has bruises (from being Robin) and freaks the heck out. This one is almost finished, but I've since found a very similar work, so I'm trying to figure out what I can do to make this fic unique.

I can talk about it, but the possibility of me actually writing this is very low because it would be very long and I don't have the attention span necessary for this haha

Anyway, it'd be a magic AU in which, at around the 5th year, Sirius starts acting weird. He loses time, forgets things, has blanks, etc.

That happens while him and Remus are first getting together, figuring themselves out, and it is a problem for the relationship because sometimes he will turn into "someone else" and start treating Remus badly

Eventually Sirius gets called out home bc his parents got word that Regulus (who had been missing) is dead. It'd be an universe where Regulus is older than Sirius.

So eventually they put the facts together and find out that Sirius is being haunted/possessed by the spirit of Regulus, who has unfinished business he has to resolve in order to move on.

Hi! This might be both vague and overly specific all at once, but I'm looking for fics that have characterizations similar to A Dangerous Game. I've been having a hard time finding fics that have that sort of care put into how tom and harry are written, with realistic motivations, actions and great dialogue that fit the characters. Honestly I do not care about the word length, the type of AU or anything like that—I'll try anything! (love your blog btw:)

1) What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

This is a good question😭 I think of Eloise as separate from the girl I played in the game, AND separate from the MC in general bc I completely changed ancient magic & the whole storyline to something more interesting to me. As I was playing the game, though, I was SO INTENSELY CURIOUS about what their backstory could be - why were they starting 5th year? Were they a squib? What about their family?

I honestly LOVE that the game is so open-ended about this, because it allowed me to find a way to place Eloise in with canon lore (her mom is actually mentioned by Sirius in the books🤭) AND (this hasn’t been revealed yet) give a conceivable reason as to why the Babbits are not in the Sacred 28 when the list is created.

I’m also FASCINATED by thinking of pureblood society & the Black family in general (Sirius/Bellatrix are my favorite characters & BOTH heavily influence how I think of Eloise) & I have so much fun MAKING ALL OF THIS UP !!!!!!!!!! I LOVE thinking of different traditions/ways that old pagan traditions can be corrupted by the purebloods trying to hold onto their legacy…how the purebloods navigate society and the world in VERY subtle interactions etc etc ETC !!!!! I could literally make a whole post on all of these headcanons I’ve made up about the universe my fic takes place in😆😆😆

Honestly NO😭 I think of her voice as very sweet but honestly it just kind of sounds like mine since I go into her mind so much as I write🤔 if anyone has any voice claims or ideas LMK !!!!

16) Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?

ELOISE HATES WEARING PANTS AND SHE HATES QUIDDITCH😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤 she HATE WATCHES every single quidditch match just to make sure Sebastian doesn’t get hurt…BUT she drags Ominis with her and tells him to let her know if anything happens bc she can’t bear to watch🤔 Sebastian is always getting himself hurt on purpose in Crossed Wands & even quidditch in the hopes that Eloise will come over🤭 bc she always insists on the muggle way…(everyone thinks they’re weird)

Another thing that I think is HILARIOUS is that as a design choice I just gave her a braid bc a) I think it’s cute & b) it’s a way to tame her crazy crazy crazy hair & c) so I don’t have to draw her hair down. BUT every time we talk about mc interactions everyone wants Eloise to show them how to braid their hair…SHE has to demonstrate though bc there is no way anyone that isn’t her could tame her own hair😫

For the 4th and 5th day fic, I turned to my pile of wips for inspiration. It was a Greatest Showman AU that has been sitting in my drafts for at least a couple of years. I figured I’d dig it up. Then, it diverged from that plot until we're left with vague notions of it. It gained a different world, and morphed into some kinda canon divergence after I inserted the Day 5 Magic and Ice prompts too. Obviously I failed the Day 4 hell challenge spectacularly because 100 words for this fic? Who was I kidding?

This? This is just horny with too much plot. And them eventually talking a bit. You know I’m a sucker for that. And happy endings. I will die without those.

Someone on reddit asked so i got the chance to gush :3

I'd be lying if i said i wasn't happy you asked! I'm really centering on hedonistic levels of fun with this project, which ive been tentatively referring to as the Melody Girls, so many things are subject to change. From left to right the current WIP names are Timeless Melody, Moonlit Melody, Passionate Melody, and Lemonade Melody. The last one i like the least cause what kind of melody is a lemonade one?? they each have one theme from the game, also from left to right, Sweet, Fresh, Sexy and Elegant. i want to make a 5th member for Cool but trying to make the dress work on a undeniably cool character is proving hard with my current wardrobe in game. Their color will probably be purple :3

Now for my ramblings on the rough characters

TIMELESS - very typical pink leader affair. at the start shes quite alone because she has a hard time fitting into any one box, so she spends a lot of her time wondering around looking for events that'll create, you guessed it, Timeless Memories (I'm very good at writing) shes my purification ability and im thinking of giving her the ability to manifest her imagination in the form of clouds to do stuff (sort of like the Topaz form of Mahoutsukai Precure or like the weird fluff from Precure A La Mode), becasue of one of the latest 4 stars banner :3 shes learning how to do lots of stuff with the encouragement of her team but is definitely the weakest link. She is the only one with strong purification powers though (like the unique ability of the timeless melody outfit) so she still has a reason to be on the team untill she comes into her own

MOONLIT- Born into an aristocratic family, a very prestigious one at that. She grew up dealing with a lot of abuse due to being autistic. Now as a young adult shes learned how to mask to her parents satisfaction. She hoped this would allow her to be happy in the end but instead she feels like shes suffocating. The only thing that keeps her going is her secret pastime of sneaking out in the middle of the night when the moon is high to spend time with her favorite thing in the world BUGS (shes my bug catching ability in game) She meets Timeless when Timeless stumbles upon her one night and eventually gains her powers. shes super smart and intelligent, but not to invested with the going ons of others her powers give her the ability to understand bugs in many ways and be understood by them as well. due to her incredible mind shes an absolute powerhouse on the team when it comes to magic

PASSIONATE - Parents are entertainers who own their own restaurant with a glamorous stage. Shes very confident and self assured, a total social butterfly and unstoppable passionate about many things, but mainly fashion (Shes my groomer ability. the one with the scissors from 1.4 i believe) AND subsequently her favorite magic technique, the quick change! She was very excited to be a magical girl, because a transformation sequence in the pinnacle of quick changes. I think shed have the unique skill of illusions and is also the teams strategist

LEMONADE - in many ways shes a foil to Timeless. Most notably where Timeless struggles to fit in, Lemonade is WAY to good at it. Her family owns a large farm where their extended family lives out in the country. Her favorite spot on the farm being their Orchard with their one of a kind Lemon trees, which sadly due to an unknown reason are producing less and less fruit. ANYWAYS, Lemonade is also PEAK elegance, she spends a lot of her free time obsessing over the idea of elegance and practicing everything she can, only problem is the environment shes grown up sees elegance as a tool for the aristocracy to control and abuse them country folk, so Lemonade sadly also became an expert at feeling a lot of internalized shame. The only thing that she refuses to stop doing is the bow in her hair, which she started doing as a child. shes the 4th one to join quite a while after the other three are working as a team and i imagine she sees the three around town acting in ways that she believes to be utterly embarrassing, which is hilarious, because shes probably the biggest Melody Girls fan around. due to shenanigans she never sees them mess up and even the awkward Timeless only ever looks cool af when she sees her. i enjoy thinking of ways she gets annoyed by her lovable group of dorks when she finally joins :D She enlists the help of Moonlit to assist her family's orchard in their crisis as the result of the character growth of Moonlit (Learning to pick up on others). She is the first one to make a break thru in the orchard's issue by theorizing that its not an issue with the tree, but with the pollinators. the rare lemon has a rare butterfly to pollinate its flowers

Sweet Melody - i haven't mentioned her yet but shes the evil villain. A girl who is probably manipulated into having her wish to be a magical girl granted via dark means. i say manipulated because i kinda want a redemption arc, but during her like 3 season evil reign she does a lot that of evil thats all her. She uses girls wishes to create disasters the Melody Girls have to resolve. typical magical girl show affair for now. If i keep a lot of Nikki lore i think itd be fun if she was the one whos wish killed the wishing one, or she kills the silver gail and takes its power for her own. :3

Other things to note:

Since often magical girl teams have a sort of uniform, like, despite the colors the main body is the same (think Smile or happiness charge Precure or even sailor moon) and thats the idea i have going on here. i love that cage dress so much. XD that being said i do have the idea of powering them up eventually to have new dresses that are unique to themselves. i have the red and green dresses but nothing yet for the other two.

The eurekas everyone has in their civilian form are their transformation items!

Timeless would be Episode 1 of course, Moonlit would be around 10 i think and Passionate around 20-25. Lemonade would probably be a big plot focus of the first half of season 2 and the yet to be made 5th member would sort of be like Sailor Uranus introduced long before they actually become an official member
