@alltimelines : have i entered an alternate universe or did you really just crack a smile for me? three hundred & ninety prompts ; always accepting.
" 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭, " vi rolled her eyes as she looked away from viktor, shaking her head as she crossed her arms across her chest. she had been surprised to see him, she had thought she had been able to slip back into the undercity after breaking things off with caitlyn. she spent most of her days fighting and drinking, not wanting to really do much else and she didn't think she could reach out to jinx, not after what happened the last time they say each other. the last person she expected to be standing at her door was silco's boy toy scientist, viktor and she half expected an argument to break out. she didn't think they ever had 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 to say to each other, but yet here they were having a somewhat civil conversation. she put it down to the hangover making her less likely to fight with him. a part of her knew she was still holding a grudge against him because of his association with silco, it didn't matter what good he had done, she couldn't move past the idea that anyone would think that man was something worthy of being around. maybe she was also a little bitter that viktor still had a relationship with jinx when she no longer did. vi felt like she had 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 everything all over again and in so many ways, she felt like it was all her own fault. but despite her own feelings and how much she felt distance between her and jinx, in a way she was extremely grateful that she had someone through all of this. vi just didn't know how she could fit in anymore and she felt like as much as she had pushed the blame on jinx, on silco, she couldn't stop blaming herself, " i'm just . . . glad she's got you. don't tell her i'm here. she's better off without knowing, "

@thchound : follow me and stay close. making demands ; accepting.
𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝, she had never fought like that before and she had never been that scared that things were going to go badly. which it almost did. vi doesn't even want to think about what might have happened if mylo hadn't been able to get vander out before that explosion, which had been so familiar and the moment they had found powder, it had all clicked for her. those stupid crystals that she had stolen from the inventor's apartment. leaving her behind was supposed to keep her safe and out of harms way, but she had just followed after them anyway. vi didn't know what to say, it was all her fault that they had ended up here. she was the reason they had gone on that stupid job in the first place, they were topside because she had been so 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 to prove herself. now she didn't even know if it had been worth it. it had been more trouble than it was worth and they had all nearly died because of it. people were dead and it was because of her. vander had nearly been killed because he had put in a situation where he felt he had to defend her. she had nearly gotten herself, mylo and claggor killed. powder could've been in danger too since she had followed them here.
𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐨? they couldn't go back to the last drop. they couldn't go home and they had nowhere safe to go now. she just had to trust that vander knew what he was doing as he carried powder who had woken up, a little too excited about the fact that her bomb had 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 worked, until she realised just how much danger they were all in. vi couldn't look at any of them, couldn't find any words of comfort for her siblings because she didn't even know what they were going to do now. that was silco? the same silco that she had known was friends with her parents, faint memories making their way to the surface and finding it hard to connect the dots that they were the same man. what had happened to him? why was he so angry at vander? the last time she had seen him was before the day of the ash. she just thought silco had been killed by enforcers too and that was why vander hadn't really spoken about him anymore. but clearly there was a lot more to the 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 than vander had ever let on.
𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, trailing behind them as he instructed claggor on where to go, no one really saying much as they tried to put as much distance between themselves and the old cannery. they were on their way to find ekko first, then she had no idea what happens next. vi kept glancing behind them, expecting to see the monster that deckard had become chasing after them. what had done that? she had never been so scared, the adrenaline from the fight had long worn off and all she could feel was the pain taking over her body. but they had to keep moving, except she really didn't want to anymore. a tear escaping down her cheek, bandaged hand coming up to rub it off her face harshly as she shook her head, " what's the point? where are we going to go? we can't go home, " vi asked, looking up at him as if she's hoping he will have an answer for her that didn't fill her with more dread and fear. except with everything that had happened tonight, she highly doubted that was going to happen, " what are we going to do, vander? "

𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫, left with nothing but her regrets and her anger, fuelled with the want and need to get back to powder. she should never have left her. she let her anger and her grief blind her for a moment. she had just needed a small amount of space. just to breathe for a minute. she never should've left her for that monster. the monster who has been feeding her lies and all his bullshit for years because she hadn't been strong enough. she was supposed to 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 for her and instead got herself locked away in a cell with no hope of getting out. silco was a dead man if she ever got another chance at him. but she had to get powder jinx somewhere safe first, " of course i missed you. you were all i could think about for years, " vi admits softly, light blue eyes searching her face for some hope of recognition. jinx. powder. one and the same. she wasn't giving up on her, not now, not ever. she might now know who she is anymore, silco's voice in her head telling her that she was 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 but vi knew that her sister was still there.
𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐰, not out of mistrust but just wary of the casual way she twirls the gun in her hand. she trusted that she wouldn't shoot her, she wouldn't hurt her. but she also knew caitlyn wasn't far behind her and she didn't know if she would hurt her. no one else needed to get hurt or die. apart from silco. vi wasn't going anywhere, not without her and she was going to keep fighting, for her, like she should've back then. she keeps herself relaxed and neutral, she wasn't here to fight powder, she just wanted her to 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 and hope that she could get through to her sister again. she hadn't told caitlyn the real reasons she wanted out of stillwater, she didn't really care about her investigation and she had just wanted to have this moment right here. blocking caitlyn from her view, hands raised in a surrender, " her name is caitlyn. but she doesn't matter. i used her to get out of stillwater so that i could get back to you, "
𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, one of her hands daring to reach out to the hand with the gun, eyes focused and her body language calm as she stood in front of her, " i'm not with her, powder. i'm just here. i'm here for you. whatever bullshit silco has told you, it's not true, " vi promised, her voice calm and steady as she hoped that she still had that ability to calm her down. it was always something that only she could do, the boys didn't know how to do it, though claggor had been learning. vander had his own way of calming her, but she always knew how to do it best. her hand finally resting over her sisters, slowly lowering the gun in her hand but keeping her eyes on her, " look at me. i'm right here. i'm not going anywhere without you, "

𝐯𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰, whether it be advice or reassurance for what she was feeling for caitlyn. she still wasn't entirely sure. plus she'd rather he hear it from her than powder running her mouth about the piltie she was seeing. it had all been a surprise to her. not only for her to fall in love with a topsider, but she was an enforcer. she could go crazy thinking how it was truly insane with how it all happened. enforcers were the 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 and she had known that majority of her life, but caitlyn had come in and just seemed to flip everything upside down. shaking her head, shoving him playfully as she looked at him, " keep dreamin' old man. not happening any time soon, " powder blue eyes roll as she looks away from him, unsure of how to explain how she was feeling. she was terrible with words, better with her actions, but she needed to talk to someone about this, to try and make sense of how she was feeling. if she couldn't talk to her dad about it, then she would just end up spiralling in her own head.
𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫, her head resting against him as she sighed softly. love was complicated, more than she ever expected, maybe because she had gone and fallen in love with the enemy. except it was sometimes hard to see caitlyn as the enemy, maybe because she saw more than just the enforcer. fuck. it was a complete shitshow. looking up at him as he speaks, trying to take it in and actually hear him because he was the only person she could be 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 with about something like this. a small smile pulls at her lips as he mentions her parents, their love had been the kind that was inspiring. even at the age she had been, it was so obvious that her mum and dad had loved each other with everything they had in them. the kind of love that seemed like the kind for stories and songs. the kind of love that it seemed no one would find, except maybe she had.
𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞, her mum had been scared in the early days of her and dad? it seemed like nothing scared her mum, it was how she wanted to be for the people around her. but if that was how she was going to be, she needed to not run from this and maybe just take that 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 to see if what's happening with her and cait really is the real deal. she sighed softly, leaning her head against his shoulder again, " pretty good pep talk. bet you were dreadin' this conversation, " she's teasing softly, but she was glad she spoke to him. almost like now she had gotten his blessing to do what she wanted, she didn't have to hide anymore and she didn't have to hold back. something he had said was stuck on her mind because as long as she could remember, it had always just been vander. sure, she had seen people get flirty with him in the last drop. but vander in love? that she had never seen. she had heard the 𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, especially after what happened years ago when someone from his past had come crawling out of the dark, intent on destroying their family. pulling away from him to look up at him properly, " you said you'd been in my shoes before. but as far as i can remember, it's always just been you. who were you in love with? "

𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐛𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭? christmas at home with vander, silco and powder was a rather cozy affair that she was very much used to, but a christmas topside with the councilors was something entirely different, even if it was just for a party at the kiramman's home. least she wasn't the only one who looked out of place, every time she caught sight of vander, he looked just as out of place as she did. janna knows where powder has managed to sneak off too with ekko, who she managed to get to bring because silco couldn't say no to her sister ever. oh, silco was going to pay big time for this, she was going to make sure of that. since zaun had gained its independence from piltover, more zaunites were now a part of a larger council that worked with piltover to sustain the peace, silco had been the first and that was how they had ended up at this party. it was all a part of 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 and as much as vi hated this, was planning to give him hell for it, she understood why they were here. at least it was the kiramman's household because that meant one good for her, a chance to see caitlyn again. that was really the only good reason vi ever had to go topside ever.
𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦, her arms folded across her chest as blue eyes search the room to try and spot caitlyn amongst all the fancy dressed people. she spotted jayce with his partner viktor and she was about to move towards him to ask if he had seen caitlyn when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder. a smile lights up vi's face as she sees caitlyn standing beside her, " hey cupcake. was starting to think you weren't gonna show, " teasing tone obvious in her voice as she looks at her, not hiding that she was appreciating just how good she looked. but as she was taking her in, she realised that caitlyn was pointing up above her with a playful smirk on her face. looking up and mouth parts in surprise, oh, she hadn't realised that she had been stood under a bunch of mistletoe hanging above her. a light blush comes on her face as she looks back at caitlyn, feeling a little flustered and she smiles, " would you believe me if i said i didn't realise that was there? @onebigerror ; sevika : pause ; for our muses to pause mid - fight to just stand and stare at each other. uh oh! i've fallen in love with the enemy ; accepting.
𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, she wasn't going to lose this fight and she wasn't going to stop until she had won. breathing hard as she took this moment to catch her breath, ignoring all the aches in her body because it just encouraged her to keep fighting. light blue eyes narrow as she looks at her, shaking her head slightly as she let out a soft laugh of disbelief, " can't believe i used to look up to you when i was a kid, " vi sneered, it was almost like a dream and she couldn't believe that it was actually true. sevika had been probably one of the most badass women she had ever seen in the lanes and she had been someone that vi had 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 to be just like when she was younger. she had been someone that vander had trusted, then she stabbed him in the back, " but look at you now. you're just silco's bitch. does he ask you to jump and you say how high? " teasing her probably wasn't the best option, but vi wanted to see everything she was capable of and she hadn't stolen these gauntlets from piltover's golden boy just to give them back without seeing what they could do, " when i'm done with you - he's next, "

@sparethcsympathy ; vander / 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐘 𝐖𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 ; 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆. 48. ex - wives, six.
𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧, especially since this was supposed to be her chance to prove that she could be the leader that he thought she could be and she could do something just like he had done at their age. what she couldn't have predicted was an explosion that had taken out the apartment that they had been robbing. mylo was blaming powder, but she insisted she had no idea how it had happened and vi was always going to defend her sister. yet she couldn't shake that feeling that if 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 bad had happened to any of them, it would be on her. everyone had gotten out of it with only a few bruises from the fight with deckard and no enforcers had caught them, but this was definitely going to complicate things for vander. in her attempt to prove she could do this, she had just made mistake after mistake and she had dragged her family along into it. but she couldn't shake this 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 of anger. they shouldn't even have to do what they were doing to try and get by, they shouldn't have to go topside to steal and to try to make things better. but fuck, she would keep doing it if she could make things better for powder, " i'm done 'cause all this time, " vi started, shaking her head as she refused to look at him, not wanting to see how mad he probably was at her, " i've been thinkin' that i could do this and i know what you're gonna say . . . but it's just unfair! " looking up at him, running a bandaged hand through pink strands of hair as she let out a frustrated breath, leaning back into her chair as she looked away again. he was mad, she could tell and she knew she was going to be in big trouble for this stunt and the danger she put the family in, " we have to fight and scrape for everything and they have plenty! it wasn't supposed to happen like this, no one got hurt i promise! 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞? that just because one big bad guy was gone that the undercity would just be under control again. it was almost comical. except it wasn't funny when idiots who still thought they ran things could attack a councilor in broad daylight. sevika was really going to have get a tighter grip on things if she thought things could change. as much as she hated silco, at least he had things in order down here. attacking mel medarda was an extremely 𝐛𝐚𝐝 option. not that she cared, she just wanted to act like everything was fine, fight and drink till nothing else mattered. hands move into the pockets of her jacket as she looks her over, trying to make sure she isn't too badly injured, shrugging her shoulders, " after the shit cait's team pulled with the grey, can you blame them? " vi asked, knowing she was also responsible for that and she should've done more to talk caitlyn out of doing that. she should've done a lot of things. but using the grey? well, it was understandable why people would be a little hostile to enforcers down here.
𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬, she was trying to keep a low profile, not to draw any more attention to herself and all she needed was for these assholes to start telling stories about her saving the councilor. hand comes to rub her chin and she shakes her head, " look, maybe just . . . don't come back down here? what could you possibly want down here? from what i know you never came down here before, " did medarda really think she could charm the remaining chembarons? the people who attacked her looked like they belonged to chross, who must be trying to take over things if the rumours about smeech are true. vi looked at one of the guys she knocked out, taking his jacket off and holding it out to her, " so you don't draw even more attention to yourself. i'll take you back to the bridge, that's it, " after how things went down between her and caityln, she had made the decision to avoid topside as much as she possibly could. but if she wouldn't be able forgive herself if she left mel to get back topside on her own and something happened to her, " unless you really wanna stay which i wouldn't recommend, nothin' can be that important, "
foolishly she knew it wasn’t a good idea to come down to zaun with a group of enforcers, especially after the death silco ⸻ enforcers weren’t a welcoming sight to begin with but a councillor ? it was asking for trouble and it seemed like she was getting it. while she hadn’t expected to see vi, it’s a welcomed face in the crowd of those who were surely thinking of wanting to hurt her. she understood the people's distaste for her ⸻ for anyone on the council, how they’d done nothing to help the people of zaun. she’d come down to zaun to meet those remaining of the chembarons, a group of powerful individuals in order to make some sort of peace, specifically seeking out one person she could at least try and form a partnership with. sevika. she wouldn’t burden vi with such a task, it was most likely better to go back topside even if it meant not being able to do what she needed.
❛ i was supposed to see someone but it can wait for another time … i’ll be needing to let people know that enforcers have been killed and make for a better plan next time to come down here. ❜ letting out a little sigh, whatever trembling in her hands seems to stop though the anxiousness does not, saved in just the nick of time. she doesn’t want to imagine where she might be if not for vi. clearing her throat and brushing hands against her dress, she breathes in deeply, trying to calm down. ❛ thank you, if it weren’t for you, i’m sure i would be in a lot of trouble right now. i don’t want to imagine what some would do to a councillor … ❜

@sparethcsympathy ; jinx / 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐘 𝐖𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 ; 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆. 54. radioactive, imagine dragons.
𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, vi imagined this moment, getting back to her sister and she planned to never let her go again. she wasn't ever going to leave her again. she would've done anything to be with powder again, nothing else mattered. she took every hit and punishment, she took 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 because it would all be so worth it to finally get home to her sister. she had to survive, she had to keep fighting because she refused to let anything defeat her whilst she knew powder was still out there. she never meant to leave her, she had just needed a moment to process everything, she had let her emotions control her in a moment and she hated that potentially all these years that powder had believed that she blamed her for everything that happened night. it had never been powder's fault, it was all silco's fault and she was going to get her sister away from that monster.
𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐫, all she could see was her younger sister who had done whatever she had to survive because she hadn't been there to 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 her like she was supposed to. vander had told her to look after powder and she hadn't done that, but she would be here now, she would protect her and look out for her like she always used to. hands grip at her sister's shoulders, blue eyes looking over her face, " i'm here, powder, right here and nothing is going to take me from you again, " she promised, nothing else mattered right now, it was just the two of them and the moment she had seen that blue flare, she had come running. caitlyn would hopefully understand. this was her sister and she was the most important person to vi, she wasn't going to rest until she knew that she was safe, " i feel it in my bones. we're going to be a family again, nothing has changed that, okay? 𝐯𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞, she wasn't really sure she knew what she had been doing since caitlyn broke her out of stillwater, just merely going through the motions of trying to get the broken pieces of her family back together. it had been heartbreak after heartbreak, but amongst all that pain had been glimmers of 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 that things would get better. only for all that hope to disappear again. vander was truly gone. jinx was gone. her entire family was gone and vi had never felt more alone. even the years she had been stuck in stillwater, she had been holding onto the idea of what could be once she got back to her sister. it was probably why she was clinging to caitlyn, the one person she was sure wasn't going anywhere, even if things were a little distant and the 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 had seemed to have disappeared. vi was distracted and she knew it, she was caught up in thoughts and wondering, unable to shake the questions she has about her sister, answers that caitlyn couldn't give her, answers that only one person could and it was probably the last person she thought she'd be asking for help, considering their history of consistently fighting.
𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐤𝐚'𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, she had been trying to talk herself into it and she just moved into the office of zaun's council representative before she could convince herself this was a bad idea. it wasn't all that surprising that sevika probably saw this as an attack, the two of them had always found themselves fighting back and forth constantly. vi didn't even fight back when she pinned her to the wall, powder blue eyes looking up at the older woman as she only struggled a little under her grip. she could 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 back, a part of her wanted to, to prove to herself that she wasn't weak or useless, maybe the pain could be the reminder that she needed. except that wasn't why she was here. she ignored the paranoia of the older woman, clearly working with silco all those years made her take on some his traits. she even ignored the insults thrown her way because she hated how right she was. she hadn't even found the strength to go home, to go back to the undercity even with ekko keep asking her to come. it was almost easier to hide up top with caitlyn and 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞 her pain than face it head on. vi just about manages to tell her why she was here, she needed to know if jinx had been happy, if she actually had a good life even if it had in the care of the monster that ruined her life. it may not be the easiest thing to hear, but it might help ease things even a little.
𝐯𝐢 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥, not taking her eyes of her, keeping her breathing steady as she finally lets go of her. she doesn't move straight away, just leaning against the wall for a moment, resisting the urge to rub her neck from where sevika's grip had been. an eyebrow raised slightly as she watched her drink, not judging because she absolutely had spent her fair share of time drowning her feelings at a bottom of a bottle, " gonna share that or are you just gonna make me watch you drink alone? " vi asked, moving to take a seat like she was told, stretching her legs out in front of her. suddenly feeling a little shy like she hadn't actually thought she would get this far, she didn't even think sevika would actually talk to her about this and yet she hadn't been thrown out of the office. she understood why sevika would see her as a 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫, someone who had turned her back on her home, but it came with too many painful memories. maybe she just needed the peace of knowing jinx had been okay to make it easier to go home.
𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐮𝐛 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞, leaning forward to rest her elbows on her knees as she looked over at her. being councillor wasn't something she had ever expected sevika to agree to, she didn't exactly strike vi as the ' polticial ' type, maybe another way that silco had an effect on her. fuck, she couldn't believe she was about to willingly ask for stories about that man. but she couldn't ignore that he had meant something to jinx . . . and vander. the memory of the letter that they had found in the mines was something she couldn't ignore, even if she tried to, " i just . . . i wasn't there for a lot. i just want to feel close to jinx, " she admits, unable to hid the sadness from her voice as she looks up at her. she couldn't seem to hide the fact of how 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 she felt about talking about her sister. she couldn't really talk to caitlyn about her, there was still so many mixed feelings with that. but sevika really did feel like a safe option, " tell me everything you can. silco may have hated me but . . . it was obvious that he loved her. he was good to her, yes? "
@nghtmarish closed starter sevika & vi
at first sevika thought it was some kind of an ambush when vi burst into her office. she was was just waiting for the day lousy top side turned on her and broke the fragile peace they were trying to create with zaun. for this reason the woman was fast and prepared just as she'd always been. even a desk job wasn't going to stop her from being ready to fight when needed. she was up from her desk and her mechanical arm was already whirring to life, the metal hand clicking into action.
she was on vi in seconds, pinning her to the wall. "did they send you to finish me off?" she growled at the younger woman in a fit of rage. how fitting to send the former zaunite to end her. well they had another thing coming if they thought sevika was going down without a fight. "and you said i was a traitor? well look at you. you're nothing but a toy one of them now. at least i never turned on my people to live a rich pampered life." she might work with them but not for them. no matter how much they tried to give her. the council seat, the office, a place to stay, the illusion of acceptance and being heard. sevika knew it was just an act to keep her where they wanted her.
the words that choked out of her former enemies mouth left her stunned. 'i want to know about jinx. what her life was like when i was gone. was she at least happy all those years?' was this a joke? at first that's what she believe. one look in vi's misty blue gray eyes told her that it wasn't. this was real. 'you're the only one left.' those words struck a nerve not only for vi but for herself. sevika hated those reminders that she was alone. they were all gone silco, jinx, isha. there was no one from her past and it sometimes made her lose sight of what she was even doing anymore. but here was this girl who practically been her shadow growing up looking so broken and wanting answers from her. no matter what transpired in the past, she knew that she had to help her now.
she slammed the cold metal of her hand into the wall just beside vi's head before pulling back altogether. "i never expected this day would come..." she muttered as she walked over to her desk and sat down in her chair. she opened her desk drawer and pulled out a bottle of whiskey, uncapping it and downing some. sevika drank heavily but she usually didn't do it until her work was done for the day. after that she'd trudge back to the ruins of zaun and lose herself in the bottle until she passed out. "sit." she gestured to the seat in front of her. "i'll tell you whatever you want to know."

𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲, especially if she saw someone in trouble or needing help. vi didn't think, she just acted, she jumped into action and would immediately defend someone who couldn't help themselves. it was just in her nature, all that heart had to go somewhere. the protector, just like vander had been for her and her siblings. but she never would have expected to see anyone be bold enough, or possibly 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 enough, to attack a councilor with an enforcer patrol. things had been a little chaotic in the undercity since silco's well deserved death, people were getting bolder, the scramble for power had people acting out in a way that made no sense. knocking down the person who was attacking councilor medarda before knocking them out quickly with a grunt, before looking back over at her as she tries to steady her breathing, adrenaline flooding her system as she looks at her, " you alright? " vi asks, looking around at the mess around them and she frowned a little as she looked at her, " what are you doing down here? never heard you to come to the undercity. probably a bad idea coming down here with a bunch of enforcers, " she points out, it was always rare to hear of an councilor coming to the undercity, but as far as she knew mel had never come down here. a lot of the councilors didn't see anything of worth down here, she can't imagine that had really changed for any of them, " you want me to take you back topside or do you need to get somewhere else? "
@nghtmarish ♡'d for a starter ⸻ for vi !
she wouldn't consider helpless, she could protect herself in most cases but this isn't one of these times, backed into a corner like a scared animal. eyes wide as her back is pressed back against the wall, the sigils on her body faintly glow ( something that she doesn't notice ), breathing picking up rapidly. surely this wouldn't be how she dies, killed because of something she was indirect cause of. eyes flick to the lifeless bodies of the enforcers on the ground, people who tried to save her, getting in the way of the person who wanted her dead. she all but turns her head, eyes closing, prepared for impact when suddenly she hears a groan and a loud thump. hesitantly, eyes open to see what's happened, eyes widening when she sees vi, not expecting to see her of all people. how had she even gotten here ? ❛ how ⸻ ❜ there's a tremble in her hands, heart still beating erratically, trying to still herself but it's hard.
