A piece I did earlier this year. I drew Charlie somewhat interacting with their younger self. Charlie here is depicted to be 17-18 years old and glaring at his yonger self, who’s depicted to be about 9-10 years old at most.

The reason Charlie would glare at their younger self with hate is because he’s probably blame his younger self for being too weak to speak up about anything, allowing themself to be somewhat of a pushover.

it's important to me and I try my best to remember. Here's My Backstory: when I was 15 or 16 years old in Armstrong high school before I was moved to the next school by going to copper high school (my mom hated Armstrong high school, so she wanted me to go copper high school where my mom used to go there.) while I used to live in Minnesota in the year of 2007 (before I become "Kristy avson" in years later), I am a friends with a teacher named Kristy Costello (where I got that nickname from), she was one of Special Education Paraprofessional in Robbinsdale Area Schools (in Minnesota) on Sep 2005 – Jun 2007, she didn't die, she just moves somewhere else. she's was my best friend and she likes to do yoga and maybe a little bit of tai chi, for some reason, understanding that I don't like watching the news on TV, it gives a bad timber (but I was younger back there). she and I where amazing duo though, we kinda did have modern tea time, not a girly tea time kinda way and we get into some fun and learning about life. even Kristy was amazed at my cartooning. in one or two years short, she moved away to a new city or something. I missed my best friend. we had two fans, one for a blues fan for my self, she gets a purple/indigo fan. after she moved to a new city, I get to go to Armstrong to copper I've been looking for her for a long time and I did, I did found her, it's been years when I've last seen her left the school. At the time that Kristy was a Psychotherapist, I didn't know. she worded it... differently. so after I found her, it's best that I would not tell everyone where she's lives now and ended up draw an anime version in 2007 version, hopefully, that she noted this, seeing that how amazing the person that I would become and she'll find me or something. it would be great to be my BFF again. so, that's my story. Who do you think Clavis's favorite brother is?

Hello Anon, you'll have to forgive me for taking a few days to get back to you on this. You see, it is a question I never considered before, and now that I've toiled ruminated over it for far too many hours I believe it does not have a clear answer.

I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall some promotional materials for the game's release that were set up as interviews with the princes, and one of the questions that was asked was "Who is your favorite brother?" Obviously, I can't recall what Clavis said because I don't know if it even existed (if one of you peoples reading this has any idea of what I'm talking about, do let me know!!)

BUT you specifically asked who I think his favorite brother is, so I take that as permission to go free reign with some more superfluous soul searching. So zip up your jackets, friends!

While I do believe Clavis loves each of the princes (love may be a strong word, but this game gives us plenty of interpretations) I think he is closest to his older brothers. At the very least, we're told he interacts with them the most (before the events of the game and during) and it is with them he reveals his truest self/intentions... to a degree.

I'll go more into my lots for each below the cut because we'll have to dive into some pretty spoilery territory for Jin, Chevalier, Clavis, and Luke's routes. But if you want the tldr: My mind says Jin, but my heart says Chevalier.

Jin

Clavis seems to hang out with Jin by choice the most outside of work. They hit up the town as drinking buddies and... discuss their preferred topics freely. They share a penchant for doting on their yonger brothers. Clavis also admits early on in Jin's route that he's his "partner in crime" and that's pretty telling coming from the palace prankster. Clavis is never usually one to hold back on sharing his opinion, but when Jin is in the room they get to back each other up (or start a heated debate, it depends on the tides).

Looking further into Jin's route, Clavis not-so-subtly hints at Jin's association with Obsidian and his knowledge of it, claiming that makes them both not to be trusted. But even if he brands themselves as villains, he still makes a point to get involved with Jin's activities and (once again) back him up when he needs it. Jin has a tendency to be self sacrificing because he knows his value as the first prince and believes he cannot right the sins of his and his father's pasts otherwise, but Clavis is usually around to help steer his head back when he goes too far. Another example of this is in Luke's route for a similar reasoning.

At the end of Jin's romantic route, Belle deduces the reason Clavis interfered was because he was afraid of losing Jin, and even though Clavis denies it, we know what's up. (I haven't played the dramatic end, but considering Clavis was basically the crossroad at Chapter 20, I'm betting he's pretty important there, too).

So Clavis enjoys Jin's company and would rather it not end, right? Sounds like a favorite brother to me! Unfortunately, Jin ends up playing a very minimal role in Clavis's route (I was really surprised about this) which brings us to candidate number two...

Chevalier

"But Scorchie, you're all about textual evidence, and Clavis says multiple times that he hates Chevalier AND wants to kill him!"

You're not wrong, imaginary voice in my head, but I think it's safe to say that these princes aren't very good at being honest with themselves. And Clavis tells A LOT of lies, so in lieu of dissecting each and every time Clavis mentions Chevalier (which I would be more than happy to do, mind you it's getting close to dinnertime) let's start with his POV stories.

Clavis says before he met Chevalier he heard of the amazing feats he accomplished at a young age, so he was very excited to have such a brother. But, as we know Chevalier wasn't as... keen on returning his affection. But Clavis never gave up trying to get Chevalier to befriend him, because let's be honest who wouldn't want to be noticed by the genius born once every thousand years? Clavis's goal was to be a prince worthy enough to stand beside him. However, after their mothers' passings, Clavis felt he failed as a son and as a brother, so he shifted the blame onto the one person he felt deserved to be grieving as much as he. Thus, his hatred toward Chevalier was truly solidifed.

And you know the rest of the story, so I won't bother you with recounting it. Although, I will mention Chevalier's take on this. He mentions in Clavis's dramatic end that no matter what happens, no matter who comes and goes, that he will be there to catch his mistakes and rectify them. And we know Clavis knows this too, because he sent Cyran to deliver Belle to the border knowing Chevalier would be there waiting, and the encouragement Clavis displayed once Chevalier and Belle confronted Gilbert was just what he needed to get back on top.

And let's not forget Clavis's sideline cheerleader act through pretty much all of Chevalier's route. He says it was for his amusement to see Chevalier's happiness get ripped away, but we know what's up.

There is a ton more nuance going on deeper here, and I don't think Clavis would ever admit to anyone or himself that he likes Chevalier (he can't stand being in the same room as him sometimes), but at the very least I believe he would be very lost if Chevalier were to disappear. Can't get more ironic than that.

It's an important moment in you guy's relationship and they don't want to mess it up

But they all managed to succed in the end, in their own different ways.

We first have the "Great with kids group", so if you have any brothers or sisters or even yonger cousins they are perfect with them. The group's formed by Dream, who the kids quickly take a liking to because of his personality and they probably recognized him from yt; Badboyhalo, who easily attracts the kids with his kind nature; and FoolishGamers who is somehow naturally good with kids, maybe because he can act like one.

Then we have group two, "Dad's favourite", which is pretty self explanatory. And its formed by Sapnap who somehow sprung a pretty good conversation with your dad; Quackity that managed to make your dad laugh with one of his jokes and quickly became his favourite; C!Technoblade who was quickly identified by your dad as a "pretty mature person", therefore he took liking to him; and Punz who doesn't even know why he was liked so much by your dad but didn't question it.

And the last group we have "Mom's favourite" or "The pretty ones that quickly caught mom's attention". So of course: Georgenotfound cause pretty privilege; Karl Jacobs who was acting so shy that your mom wanted to actually adopt him; Wilbur Soot who was "too attractive to be dating my child" /j; Nihachu who's an angel so of course she was quickly loved; and Eret who, by your mother's words, "is a very interesting person"

I saw in one of your posts that apparently you think the time loop theory is wrong and I wanted to ask, what else do you think happened there? I'm gonna be honest I stopped interacting with the LN fandom that much, so I could have missed everyone having a revelation or something. Either way I stopped at the idea of mono being stuck in a time loop of becoming the thin man over n over so I'd gladly know what you think happened if not that(/gen)

This has been in the askbox for some time already (sorry for that!!) but even if the answer is not needed anymore I'll answer anyway

The fact that Mono is in the time loop is actually canon as stated in the game, no question for my boy Mono

However, it doesn't mean that the whole LN world is in the loop also.

Using the opportunity, I want to write about the whole LN timeline.

TLDR: The time in LN2 looks like a loop. A loop, a circle, with no particular start and end of the line, but still a single circle, only one. Not a spiral.

We, as outside wievers, look at that and the events begin to blur between each other, so I understand why it may be confusing. The Thin Man sends Mono away, Mono finds Six, Six betrays him, Mono becomes the Thing Man, Thin Man sends Mono away, Mono finds Six... How many times did it happen? That's the point. It didn't happen multiple times, it happened once. We just keep coming back to the event, because it's a circle, it's a loop.

The story is told. No matter what you change in it, Six will always lead Mono to his downfall. Maybe because it's predetermined, maybe because it's just who the Mono is, or maybe it's the influence of the Tower so that it could live. No matter, it's an event that happened.

So the story does not repeats itself like a mistake that you keep doing, never learning. It repeats itself in a way tread one's own footsteps.

Mono's story is tragic, but that doesn't mean everyone is suffering the same fate.

The Maw is not in the loop. The Nest is not in the loop. I believe, the loop thing works only on the territory under the Tower's influence, because it's a powerful deity, but not as powerful to take control over the whole world (yet).

So, the timeline looks like that:

Six goes about her day and doesn't come back to the Pale City in some vague way so the loop can start again, once again - the story just happened and remained that way. It's the Thin Man alone, who suffers his brilliant idea to create a loop, so the Tower can imprison him forever and ever in his own unending misery😄

The conclusion that the whole Little Nightmares world is in the loop too is the most logical and simple at first, yet if you think about it for more than a few seconds you understand that it makes absolutely no sense. How would the Maw function in the loop? Six is the Lady? If she is, how did she send her yonger self in the wilderness?

At some point people used this "theory" not because mechanics of time loops were too hard to understand, but because people wanted the story of Mono & Six to continue. But not in like... any creative way of AUs... No... They completely erased the Lady as a character🤡 Powerful witch of the seas, that eats infants and thinks of none other than her beauty... Now is just emotionally immature girl with no lore (I'm still bitter about that, you can see). But it's whole different story and I don't want to spread hate because I Literally Don't Care. It still works for some stories, but it's less "Six is the Lady" and more "Six becomes the new Lady of the Maw" and that does not require the time loop.

Thank you so much for answering! I may have cried when I read "me wanting to die was actually just me wanting to change" because it resonated with me a lot. I'm just tired of making myself feel miserable about myself and making myself feel so unlovable. Your words are so soothing and just so reassuring, thank you.

This might sound weird but when I think of getting better, I always get this question "What mistake is too big to be forgiven for?" And my mind on its own wanders to darker places. Such as wondering if people who're in prison or people who've committed bad crimes and now regret it, do they deserve forgiveness too? I find myself wondering how those people feel. Things like that and then unintentionally, I start comparing myself with that. Like that incident with my yonger sister I mentioned in the previous ask, my mind tries to convince me that it was something comparable to a crime which thinking rationally, it wasn't.

The weird thing is when I remember a bad memory, at first it looks like a silly mistake in my mind but the more I think about it and ruminate, the more it starts looking worse and worse of a mistake. So thinking too much just brings in more miserable thoughts that leads to more negative thoughts about myself. It's a weird loop of self deprecation.

But you helped me a lot with it. The words you wrote at the end are exactly what I was worrying about so it just struck a chord honestly and I couldn't be more grateful 💗

I am so happy to hear that what I said was useful and has helped you. That really warms my heart 🥰 I felt exactly those ways too when I began my journey and they were things that made me want to get the help that I needed, so I'm glad they could resonate with you as well!

Honestly though, ALL mistakes deserve to be forgiven for, even murder. I know that's so hard for people to fathom, but there are families of people who have been murdered that have forgiven their family member's murderer and it's truly amazing. Forgiveness is one the greatest acts of love that anyone can do and give. Self-forgiveness too is especially critical for recovery—it's an act of self-love.

Please don't waste your time trying to make mountains out of molehills for previous mistakes. You will have to learn to continue to forgive yourself for those things you've done in the past and try not to let yourself make it worse, especially since it's already been done. I know it's an addictive feedback loop to get into when you start thinking about negative things in the past, but be mindful of it happening and tell yourself to stop, or remind yourself that what's done has been done and thankfully it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Comparing yourself to others as well is a recipe for disaster and discouragement. This was another huge feat of mine that I had to overcome (and still struggle with daily, especially because I just started my own business too lol). Everyone moves at a different pace and there are things that you learned before others that they wish they knew right now, just like you haven't learned some things that other people have learned already and you're comparing yourself to. Be okay with your journey and how unique it is to the people around you. You will come to learn the lessons you need to learn in due time. Don't get discouraged by your pace.
