WHO'S READY TO JOIN THE VEGAN MOONCAKE REVOLUTION?!
Who says you need eggs and lard to make mooncakes? My vegan version creates the most tender, flaky pastry that even my non-vegan friends can't tell the difference.
The lotus seed paste filling is silky smooth and perfectly sweet, and that golden exterior? Chef's kiss
I'm already planning my next batch with red bean and maybe even a chocolate twist because why not shake things up a bit!
If you're curious about making your own (trust me, it's easier than you think!), I've got the full step-by-step recipe on my website here! https://mooncake.beehiiv.com/p/vegan-mooncake

Ok I don’t mean to be dramatic, but the first bite of my homemade chocolate snow skin mooncake might’ve opened a portal to another dessert dimension.
If you’ve never had snow skin mooncakes before, think mochi meets mooncake—chewy, soft, a little bit magical.
And then I went ahead and stuffed them with rich, velvety chocolate ganache because… why not?
Making these is weirdly fun. You don’t even have to bake them (yes, really!). It’s just mix, knead, roll, fill, mold, done. Plus, they look super fancy with their frosty outer layer and stamp design—but they’re secretly so easy.
If you’re feeling adventurous, sweet-toothed, or just want an excuse to play with food, come check out the full recipe on my site. I’ve got everything you need to get started! https://mooncake.beehiiv.com/p/chocolate-snow-skin-mooncake
Catch you in the land of chewy, chocolatey joy!

I Made Vegan Mooncakes—and Honestly You Should Too!
It started when I was scrolling through recipes before Mid-Autumn Festival and realized... all the mooncakes I grew up seeing were loaded with eggs and lard.
Not exactly vegan-friendly.
But I still wanted that nostalgic bite: soft crust, sweet filling, a little fancy stamp on top.
So I got to work.
After a few trial runs (and a mild kitchen meltdown), I finally cracked the code. The crust is soft and golden, the filling options are endless, and best of all—no animals involved.
You don’t need a bakery setup or special skills—just a little patience, a love of sweets, and maybe a podcast to keep you company while the dough rests.
If you’re curious (or just hungry), I put the full recipe and step-by-step pics on my site.
Come check it out here! https://mooncake.beehiiv.com/p/vegan-mooncake

My First Try at Cantonese Mooncakes!
I’ll be honest—I used to think Cantonese mooncakes were something you buy, not make.
You know, those shiny little pastries in pretty boxes at the Asian market?
Yeah, those.
But this year, I decided to try making them myself. Just for fun. Just to see. And… wow.
They’re rich, slightly sweet, and filled with things that make your taste buds do a happy dance, all wrapped in this tender golden crust that’s just chef’s kiss.
Making them felt like a mix of baking and crafting. There’s a mold you press the mooncakes into to get that beautiful design on top—it’s weirdly satisfying.
And while it looks fancy, the process is actually pretty chill once you get the hang of it.
I even found it kind of meditative (once I stopped panicking about the dough cracking).
If you’ve never tried baking Cantonese mooncakes at home, I really hope you give it a shot.
I’ve got the full recipe, all my tips, and plenty of step-by-step pics up on my website to walk you through it. https://mooncake.beehiiv.com/p/cantonese-mooncake
