the whole "ao3 and tumblr are our parents thing" is especially great considering the "you've already left kudos here." we are the petulant children who want more than one cookie and ao3 is saying no.

Here's a doodle inspired by chapter 4 of This Fate Was Mine To Choose by the amazing @lusia98 (or the fic where Cass and Rapunel have an actual conversation and thus avoid the whole S3 mess)

Tangled the series the show that you are
Compelling characters, including ones original to the series not shown in the original movie. Characters I would dare say have fandoms almost bigger then the actual Disney Princess who was meant to be the main character
Those same compelling characters' arcs either being relentlessly cruel (Varian) or poorly done (Cass)
Being a cartoon where you can tell corporate mandated lessons but somehow the guy who did the most damage faced no consequences except a memory wipe
Interesting lore that they did almost nothing with
Interesting characters they did almost nothing with
I almost want to say that's what makes it so fun to create fan content for though?
The other thing I write the most for, the Hatchetfield triology, I'm just smashing together my dollies basically. I don't have complaints with the series, I just have theories and ships and fun ideas.
For TTS, though, I feel like the overwhelming vibe of fanfics, especially about Cass, Varian, the Brotherhood, etc is 'then I'll do it myself'
They gave us building blocks and fumbled their tower so hard but the things inside were so endearing we can't just leave it be.

The scene in the Demanitus Maze was also completely butchered. They had the perfect opportunity to show a real conversation between Cap and Cass about her childhood, her feeling like no matter what she does her dad refuses to have her on the Guards, and what pushed her to take the moonstone in the first place. At this point Cassandra believes her choice is justified, and instead of trusting his daughter and trying to listen to her for once, the Captain just draws his sword on her like he already believes she's evil and a danger to Corona.
These two were desperately in need of a serious discussion, but it got denied by the show because how else could they make Cass into a villain and erase her rightfull grievances against Rapunzel to remplace it with "You stole my mother", right?
What did the Captain told Cassandra her whole life about her adoption and biological parents?
I mean, she knows she is adopted, but has she ever asked any of those questioks to her dad? It's very likely that yes — but what did he answered? What did he say, what was the fic he created so that she wouldn't ask about Gothel and start a hard conversation? She talks a little about this in the episode "Cassandra VS Eugene" and that's the episode where we learn this tiny bit about her backstory. She just says "I don't remember my real parents so I have nothing to compare him with" and gets upset/stops the conversation after noticing she's oversharing with Eugene.
I want to know what the captain told her. He seems like he would run from these tough conversations (my theory of the reason why) and because he didn't wanted to upset Cassandra letting her know she was abandoned, even though she should have known that. She deserved to know. That's pretty much all we know about this subject:
youtube
I want lore. And discussions, and fics, and assumptions. Also I made this post some time ago and decided to add it here cuz it has everything to do with it. Btw it's deleted now.

Zhan Tiri is such an interesting character concept and she had a lot of potential in season 2 but I feel like end of season 3 did her dirty both in personality and design. I especially hated the Yzma s3 look at the end, so here's a redesign !
These couple of frames took me wayyyy too long to do, so please ignore the tree branches which can't stay put for the life of them

I know the Island episodes aren’t the most popular but I love them for little moments like this. I love how Cass was snapped out of her anger by realising that she’s hurting Pascal. It really proves how compassionate she is and how much she cares about animals.
And then she holds him gently in her hands and lets him sit on her shoulder for the rest of the scene 🥺🥺
This scene says so much without saying anything and I love it
#omg I never noticed that !!!#Cass loves animals🥺#now I want to rewatch this episode#tts cassandra#tangled the series#reblog

Tangled: the Series Comics
Here's a link to my Drive with all the comics on it, in order by publication in the comic book format*.
Some notes:
The stories vary in length: two pages, four pages, eight pages, and twenty pages. The first story, an abridged version of Tangled: Before Ever After, is 24 pages. Splash pages are each numbered with the two pages they occupy.
The comics were originally split into five series: "Adventure is Calling," "Let Down Your Hair," "Hair Raising Adventures," "Hair and Now," and the final issue, "Hair It Is." I've color-coded the folders so you know where each series starts and ends.
The covers are in their own folder, labeled as S(series #)I(issue #) - cover. Some issues had more than one cover. I've got them all. It includes all the inside pages that aren't comics (like table of contents).
"Under the Big Top" is the only story that canonically takes place during season two. The rest take place during season one (or in Rapunzel and Pascal's past as children).
Enjoy!
*Four comics -- "Occupation Princess," "Eager to Help," "Baking Instinct," and "Princess Cassandra" -- were originally published in the short-lived "Tangled: the Series Magazine" before the comic book series began to be published. There are no comics that were in the magazine that did not eventually make it into the comic books.
