DANDADAN YEEEAAAAH!!

I'm back! So many changes happened since the new year and I barely had time to work on my dolls but things finally calmed down so I got time for a little project!

I found this Shibajuku doll on a flea market and since I got into DanDaDan recently, I decided to turn her into Momo Ayase. She's such a fun character, I can't wait for season 2!

Before/After and details Below:

I'm happy I was able to reuse the original eyes (i let them dip into alcohol and after a few minutes they were clear as new), it saved me a lot of time. Eyerything else (clothes, hair, accessories) were handmade.

I also made a puppet "psychic hand" (like she has in the anime when she uses her powers) with leftover yarn from previous projects. I played around with photoshop to give a fun colorful result for the pictures.

The most annoying was her hair, I had to go to 3 differents stores to find the right shade of yarn (no cuz maybe I'm a bit colorblind, but are they dark brown, dark red or bordeaux??), fortunately, the advantage of yarn hair is that it's easy to style, and given Momo's original hairstyle... Anyway I think she turned out really cute!

I decided to use my main account for my Art and Customised Dolls content only, so I moved all of the JTTW content (Art, Memes and others related things) on a sideblog, @jttwcorner HERE.

I'll continue to publish JTTW content there in the future, it's just more practical for me this way :)

The Nightmare before after Christmas!

(A bit late in my timing, I admit)

This is Barrel, by the amazing @crystallizedtwilight , I discovered her art a little while ago, and I just love her design for him! Funky little green guy!

He's entirely handmade, from his metal wire skeleton, his body parts sculpted in Fimo clay to his hand-sewed clothes.

He might be my last work before the New Year, so I hope everyone has a nice Holyday, I'll see you all in 2025!

Fish Girl Nightout!

Meet Jem (it's short for Jemmica) (jk i'ts not)

I've been a Lagoona fan ever since the first G1 doll, I am a HUGE fan of fish-people characters. When G3 came, I didn't liked the colours they gave her at all, BUT, it matched the skintone of one of my fish-people OC, lucky me!

Anyway, I wanted her to have some 2000s vibes, and I was kinda unsure what kind of outfit I was going to give her, and I randomly stumbled upon some barbie fashion pack from 2007 and it was just TOO perfect for her, so I resized the clothes and yeah! Fit her perfectly!

Also, I missed her original webbed hands, so I managed to modify hers with some with transparent acrylic, here's a closeup because they're not that visible in the pics:

All other accessories were handmade (excepted for the cd walkman, idk where it's from)

Forgot to add individual pics for the seats, since you couldn't really see the details in the first pictures. I really like how they turned out!

They were heavily inspired by Eero Aarnio's 1963 Ball Seat, which I think is one of the best seat ever designed.

Anyway, always keep plastic cups and flutes, they can make cool seats for dolls later!

Heeeeeere's Nina!

Halloween's here so a vampire doll fitted the theme perfectly!

But instead of a classic victorian vampire, I chose a 60s/70s inspired style, because why not?

I also made her two outfit since she's both a working and party girl. Creatures of the night got a double life after all!

She was originally a Poppy Rowan Rainbow High doll, I removed her original eyes and used resin to make her new ones, added eyelids and eyelashes to really give her *that* 60s vibe, made new voluminous hair, and pointy ears that you can't see because of said hair. And ho yeah, sharp fangs too, since she's... a vampire.

I also made her seats out of a plastic sphere and plastic champagne glasses, and her little phone too.

The pictures didn't turned out as clean as I wanted, but I got nothing but dark weather recently, and the lighting in my home isn't that great, but I still love the poses!

We got a heavy smoker here!

His name is Eddie, he's my latest OC-turned-doll and I love him a lot!

I realised midway through making him that he kinda looked like a fusion between Billy Hargrove and Eddie Munson from Stranger Things (not why I gave him that name tho, Eddie is just my favorite name).

details below:

I modelled his face+painted it, and put it on a Severus snape doll body (that body was way too buff for Snape what the hell), and added monster high hands because the og ones were so VEINY it was really weird looking.

Clothes and accessories were all handmade exepted for the shoes, tattoos on forearms are halloween nails stickers (they make awesome tattoos for doll!).

Polly Pocket customization 2: Electric Boogaloo

And this time, it's Allan!

I decided to torture my eyes once again to turn an (hilariously ugly) polly pocket into the one and only Allan. I thought about making Ken first, but honestly, his first design wasn't that interesting and iconic, and the polly pocket I found had a face sculpt closer to Allan's than Ken's. And I really like that Allan and barbie are matching with their stripes.

Asha & Starboy

Since it’s February and Valentine Day is coming, I give you: The Cutest Couple that Never Was!

I know I said in a previous post that Wish (2023) disappointed me, BUT-

The concept had so much potential; the King and Queen being both evil, Asha having powers from the start and of course, STARBOY! I just love that concept of a playful magical being that could also potentially be a cute love interest to Asha, but they can’t be together because he must go back to the sky at the end or something (literal star-crossed lovers). So since Disney didn’t deliver, I did it myself.

Details below:

I sculpted their faces with Fimo and for the bodies, I used a snapstar doll body for Asha and a cheap modified BJD doll for Starboy (he was too tall, so I had to saw the legs shorter and give him monster high hands), I also slightly modified Asha’s design and dress (I wanted it more flowy), and while I did took inspiration from the concept arts for Starboy, I decided to design my own outfit for him, something that resemble more a shiny jester outfit, given he was supposed to be a joyous character (we were robbed, seriously).

fun fact: those wish balls are actually painted bouncing balls.

Heeeeyyyy! New OC-doll baby! Meet Jud, The Grumpy Goth!

I think it's only appropriate that since the last one was a Summer-vibes doll, this one be a Autumn-vibes doll.

I've actually been postponing him for 3 years; he was sadly waiting on my desk to be finished, until I had enough of his judgy stare and gathered everything I needed to properly finish him, even made him some miniatures accessories and a school desk, wich was a lot of fun to make!

I really feel like 2023 is the year of "Finally finishing projects I started years ago"

(btw, he's got tattoos all over his upper body, but I won't show them yet)

Can you belive he used to be a Jackson Jekyll doll? So: 1. I shrank the head with acetone 2. I heated the head to make the nose pointier 3. I cut the back of the head open, removing that too-much of skin and glued it back together and TAD-AM! Cooler head!

So I made another End of Summer Doll! Meet Barbara! (my oc, no relation to Barbie)

Guys, I'm not gonna lie, I love this one to death!

I was working on her all summer because I actually had to sculpt her head. I had this Clawd Wolf doll around, and I thought the body could work perfectly for her, but the head was too inexpressive for that character, so I put my sculpting diploma to good use and made her a new smiling head with some fimo! I also managed to make the shoes myself this time.

Funnily enough, the hardest part was finding the right shade of blond for her hair.

"What if I made the 1959 Barbie with a 2003 Polly Pocket?" I said,

"I can repaint her whole face, that definitely won't hurt my eyes!" I said.

Yeah, I really like the 1959 (first) barbie doll design, so I decided to have fun by making a tiny doll of it, rerooting her hair was surprisingly easy! I think I'll do more Polly pocket customization in the future...

If I ever find one with hair again!
