talked with jack last night, and it’s like… it’s a shame volo turned out the way he did. he really could have become something profound and remarkable, with the skill he held and ambition like his. i think cynthia reflects his potential best of all, really, of who and what he could have become if things were different. because he could have become a great archeologist, an anthropologist, he had the strength to possibly become a champion of sorts, had anything like a league ever transpired… 

but as the fates would have it, he was doomed from the very beginning. born into obsession, too curious, and full of too much want and willpower for anything else, too fixated on how the world is wrong and needs to be remade. and he’ll never stop chasing his dream, carrying that want and his will to his dying day. 

as cogita says, it’s just another tale of one’s passion burning too bright and consuming its bearer.

okay! i very genuinely want to get things rolling tomorrow and i'm going to stick to my word this time and really be here: i've not written volo in a hot minute, so i'd love to dust off the rust!

here's a short starter call? i'll keep things light and easy as i re-figure out my footing :>

like all of the celestica before him, volo does not have a surname. it was their belief that a name should die with its owner, and instead, they were given demonymics named after stars in the sky, and patronymics that carry the name of the first person in the bloodline blessed with a gift from arceus. 

to quote jess, the structure works like so: “i think it would be like [first name] [og person's name or their genitive form] [star/constellation name + -is/-os/-ous], but the name itself means "first name, child of og person, of <insert star>"”

volo’s patronymic is lenci, which means the one who shines brightly, and his demonymic is named after the northern star upon the horizon.

but to you and him, he’s simply just volo, your favorite merchant.
