Fever! Now that he got a closer look on her … Of course! She said it. Umpf. The small serious side he had wanted to smack himself over the head. And it seemed to be a rather bad one. Not that he knew that much about fevers and sickness, heck he just got released, he had only the standard knowlegde, but he could see that it was bad! He wasn’t that oblivious.

Utteting a small ‘sorry…’ because he realized how stupid this question must have sounded to her, he looked at the girl. “I-I’ll help you up and get you inside!” The blonde said, pointing at the entrance of the apartment complex. “Y-You need medicine, right? But first we have to get you out of the snow!” So much he knew.

When you where sick, you needed medicine.

And you should stay in bed, or at least inside.

Oliver now had an more … serious expression on his face, wich even surprised James a bit. “I’ll help you get inside again.” he said with a nod of his head, as he tried to help her to get up. Well, she was a bit taller than him, but he would manage. “Okay?”

If she didn’t wanted his help, fine. That wouldn’t stop him from at least getting her inside. Or at least, trying to help her.

Something about the guy seemed awfully familiar, it was making her head hurt more. She kept thinking about it, and trying to figure out where she knew him. She was dying to ask, but she couldn't find the right words to say. She couldn't really even say them, the world was a blur, and she was tired. She just wanted to sleep in a nice warm bed with some hot tea.

“I-I’ll help you up and get you inside! Y-You need medicine, right? But first we have to get you out of the snow!”

Gumi smiled a bit, she was happy this stranger(?) wanted to help her. Her head nodded slightly. She did want to go inside, she really desperately wanted to. Medicine sounded splendid as well. Everything sounded nice as long as she was inside sleeping. Gumi felt the boy trying to help her up, and she gladly co-operated. She was so thankful, but she couldn't say anything, she just gripped onto the boy.

… How did he always manage to get to the places with the biggest crowds? Not that he had something against people, but it made him curious how he always got there. Looking around while James sat on his shoulder cleaning his feathers, the blonde noticed a girl leaning on a wall. Normaly it wouldn’t have caught his attention so fast, because if she wanted to stand there, she could, but … this girl did not look so well. And even if he was a little oblivious, Oliver wasn’t stupid.

Tilting his head, he looked at her for a bit. What could be wrong with her? And … She looked a bit familiar. Short, green hair … What was the name again? His thinking was interrupted, however, when his bird suddenly started to poke his cheek like maniac. “What? I was trying to think!” the boy said with a small pout, before the animal pointed into the direction of the female. Turning, Oliver saw that she was lying on the ground. Oh. OH. Not good. Not good! He wanted to help her, but how? He didn’t even knew what was with her! Maybe … Maybe he should check on her? Y-Yeah, that sounded good!

Altough a bit hestitant, since Oliver had no idea what to do (he didn’t know anything about such situations really), he walked up to the girl, a worried expression on his -and James’- face. He kneeled beside her, and carefully started to poke her arm.

“Uh- A-Are you alright?”

Honestly, he had no idea what was going on.

Gumi's head was pounding. It felt as if her brain were expanding in her head, and her skull couldn't hold it in. She brought her shaky hands up to her head, she felt the head of her skin burn her cold fingers. This was by far the worst cold she had. Gumi sniffled, and a small groan came from the back of her throat. The fever kept getting worse. If only she could get to the pharmacy quicker..

She managed to prop herself into a sitting position, her legs propped up in front of her. Gumi hugged her knees tightly, trying to warm herself. The melted snow had chilled her already cold legs. Gumi searched around, looking for someone who actually saw or, or gave a shit. She saw a relatively familiar face, a boyish one. She couldn't quite put a name to it, though. For her thoughts weren't clear due to her weak body.

She noticed he had noticed her, and a wave of relief washed over her. As he walked closer and closer, she was trying to muster the strength to ask him for help, and tell him what was wrong.

“Uh- A-Are you alright?”

She sighed to herself, what a stupid question. Of course she was all right, a girl hunched over in sickness is absolutely alright, yeah! Of course! She felt the hopelessness come back, he was obviously a stupid one. But, she needed help so she replied meekly

"O-Of course noooot. I... fever... It hurts.."

Good job Laurencin, good job. How is anyone going to want to be friends with someone like him? He’s completely hopeless without someone approaching him first, and even then it’s likely that he’ll scream and scare them away. A failure once and a failure again, maybe he isn’t meant for anything other than killing after all. Then why was he reborn here anyway. It’s impossible for him, in the past, in the present, in the future, it’s just impossible for Laurencin. The girl must be ridiculing him right now, and for good reasons. He’s just a fool and—

Wait. Did she just agree? With a wry smile on her face that could mean nothing but trouble later on maybe, but she agreed nonetheless! He’s done it. Laurencin actually made a friend! He isn’t too sure what’s supposed to happen next, but he doesn’t really care at the moment. He has a friend in this world, and that’s enough for his agenda for the day. Wait no actually.

Exactly what is he supposed to do now? Come to think of it, they’re friends(???) yet complete strangers since they don’t know each other at all! Laurencin may be hopeless when it comes to this, but even he knows something’s not right. So what is he supposed to do right now? Act like a friend of course! Ok, what do friends do again… Borrowing strength and will from his happier memories again, he offers her a hand.

“Thank you, for being my friend I mean. Um,…I’m Laurencin.”

Doing his best to put a smile on his face, he waits for her answer. This is good, right? Two people who have just become…friends…introducing themselves to each other. He doesn’t know exactly how this works, but at least this feels right to him.

Gumi felt a little bad for being so hard on him, he meant well. But, when a weak being approached her, she couldn't help but be a bitchy smart-ass. Of course, he was still slightly annoying, since he was so persistent-- but it was just that, that drew Gumi to him. Usually people gave up on her when she acted this way, but he continued trying to befriend her. She chuckled to herself, no one really asked to be her friend before, Gumi couldn't help but be a bit.. touched. Yet, of course she didn't let that part show or he'd think she was a softy, which of course-- she wasn't. (Most of the time)

Gumi noticed a slight tinge of surprise color his face. Her coy smile broadened, she found it amusing how he thought this was some sort of miracle or something along the lines of that. Gumi crossed her arms, and let her body fall into lazy posture. She was hoping he would say something first, since she wasn't much for making a first move-- in any situation. Once again, she noticed Laurencin fall into a deep thought or something-- because it looked like he was trying to figure out what to say.  She chuckled as he held out his hand. 

“Thank you, for being my friend I mean. Um,…I’m Laurencin.”

She took his hand and shook it, it was the polite thing to do. (Even though she resented getting physical) And replied solemnly 

"I'm Gumi. It's no problem but--"

She decided to make something clear to him

"I did say we could be friends, but it doesn't mean that we're friends yet. Becoming someones friend takes time, but I'm sure you know that, right? I'll tell you when we're friends, but that will only happen once we get to know each-other enough, alright?"

He watched as the Gumi retained all that he’d been saying previously. Sora could tell by her reaction that she was finding the story to be exciting, and beautiful. He wondered how the story looked in most peoples eyes. The hardship follow Sora throughout his life, but the story, if it were to be told to him by someone else, would sound almost impossible amazing to anyone who was listening.   Smiling to himself, he felt sort of proud to have accomplished so much in his life. Fighting off a dark force that threatens to over take all worlds, saving people from this force, and even restoring the broken worlds as well. All these things were something anyone could feel proud of. It’s not everyday you get to experience such tales, and amazing feats. And, Gumi had even realized it, so much that she spoke out of pure excitment. “That’s so cool!”   The brunet was almost blushing out of embarrassment at this point. He found himself feeling kind of funny, telling her all these tales, and watching her reaction to each part of the story. It seemed like it interested her because of the lack of it in her own world. What world could she have come from. One that’s not directly connected to the link of accessible roads? Or maybe one that’s completely out of reach by the denizens of light and darkness. If so, then she’d never have to worry about losing her heart to the darkness, one would hope. “Thanks. I’m glad to have had the privilege to even do most of these outrageous feats. If I were anyone else, I would found it impossible.”  

Gumi caught herself daydreaming. She was a warrior fighting off the darkness in her world! She giggled to herself at the thought of being a somebody, a hero, being brave. Swords clashing, magic dancing, and the darkness is slain! It was hard to fight off the overwhelming urge to stand on a rock and yell "I'm queen of the world~!" of course, she had better judgement and didn't do such a ridiculous thing, but still. She envied Sora for having such an amazing life. It was much more fun than hers. He accomplished things, the most she had done is learn to hate people and sing. Sure, singing was a talent but she wasn't sure what people would do if they heard her sing, she never had a concert or anything-- which gave her the idea that her voice wasn't pleasing to the ear.

  Gumi noticed the pink rush to his cheeks and she smirked. He definitely took pride in his doings and whatnot. She felt slightly happy that he felt happy, which was out of character, but what could she do-- neh? 

“Thanks. I’m glad to have had the privilege to even do most of these outrageous feats. If I were anyone else, I would found it impossible.”

She thought about what he said, and he had a point. Most people would kill to do this, but they would never dream of it being doable. Gumi shrugged her shoulders in reply, not really sure what to say-- she spoke anyway

"Yeah, it's totally cool you've gotten to do this stuff, Sora. I guess you're right, others would find it impossible-- but you're you now! So there's no need to worry about that, right?"

Gumi recently hadn't felt too well, for the past week and a half she had stayed in her stuffy apartment, trying to get her energy back-- A cold and a cough hadn't been treating her well, and she had no medication in her apartment. The cold progressively got worse and worse, today it had gotten so bad that she decided to go out and get medicine with the small amount of money she had. The sickly being crawled out of her warm bed, and clawed at her closet, searching for her coat. Before she left, she rubbed the goop out of her eyes, and opened the door. The cold rush of air wasn't inviting to Gumi's already chilled body.

She sniffled and stepped out. Gumi was feeling faint so she used the walls around her to guide her-- she continued walking aimlessly until she realized she had no idea where the pharmacy was. She sighed a phlegm-y sigh and fell against the wall, she felt herself heat up. Gumi figured that she was getting a fever due to the cold air. She slumped to the ground and couldn't get back up. She hoped this influx of people around her could help her out.
