I still don’t get what’s wrong with eating monsters! I’D eat them if they were pretty much animals but weirder!

Yes! It's definitely a very clear metaphor for "exotic"/"gross"/"weird" foods that people tend to reject when they come from other cultures, so I'm enjoying it a lot. (Of course, there's also the difference between politely declining something that intimidates you VS calling it gross.) I feel like I don't see that metaphor often, now that I think about it. I'm gonna have to read more lol
