BIRD IN A SUPERMARKET!!!
Virginia Rail (Rallus limicola), family Rallidae, order Gruiformes, found across much of North and Central America
This image of a rail in a supermarket went viral a few years ago. I do not know where this happened. Virginia Rails are usually found in marshes, and do not normally feed on dark chocolate.

The people on iNaturalist ided the lighter ones as grackles, too, but lets see if i can learn something about birds
So these photos were taken in northern utah, all at once—there were a few non-grackles and non-cowbirds there, a few house sparrows and a robin, and the rest were great tailed grackles, save those few brown babies
Brown-headed cowbirds tend to show up in utah during summer, which it is. Almost officially summer, and utah.gov says there ARE nonsummer cowbirds, but they’re in the southern parts of the state
Cowbirds DO look a lot like the female grackles

Theres a few of them with similar face markings, but theyre stronger on the grackles. Heres some close ups of the brown bird photos

Those face markings are pretty strong, but im more convinced by the beaks and tails?
Cowbirds have those thicker, shorter beaks and i think their tails match the grackle lengths a bit better
Theyre a little scronched up but. Probably not cowbirds, i think theyre just some feathery grackle ladies
