Apparently, to them, Dumbledore is God and had the power to set young Tom Riddle Jr. (yes, that same Tom we all read about in the HBP) right, but he didn’t.

dumbledore haters are the most annoying and illiterate ppl in the hp fandom. how are you going to demonise the person willing to do anything to prevent genocide and fascism but then go and sympathise with the DEATH EATERS?? yknow, the members of a FASCIST REGIME/CULT??

a lot of you like to purposefully misconstrue his actions into something evil despite his reasonings being CLEARLY explained and justified in the media itself. like idk what to tell you but to reread the books and stop rotting your brains with fanon

Dealing with the “anti JK Rowling/Harry Potter” and “Anti Snape” crowd as a Black Potterhead/Snape fan can be so unnecessarily exhausting at times.

I had an incident on Reddit that really bothered me (I’ll make a post about it later, I need to vent about that), but I’ll just say that people are so hellbent on wanting to call out J. K. Rowling and Harry Potter for being “problematic”, that they are completely unaware how offensive they come off in the process. Yet, every time I try to point this out, it’s always the same attitude of, “No, you’re wrong, Rowling-”. No, I am not referring to J. K. and her transphobia, but rather the concept of “racism”/house-elves in the story that many people seem to have an issue with.

On the topic about Snape. I am a Black Snape fan, and over the years I have dealt with COUNTLESS Snape antis. You already know where I’m getting at if you’ve encountered them too: their usage of comparing Mudblood to the N-word. Every time you try to explain to them how they shouldn’t do that, they NEVER listen. They hate Snape so badly, that they rather not try to understand how insensitive they’re being.

First off, Mudblood and the N-word are in no way comparable. Saying, “Snape practically called Lily the N-word” comes off way worse than saying, “Snape called Lily a Mudblood” and they know that. People will think worse of Snape if the incident of him calling Lily a Mudblood was made to seem as if he was calling Lily a racial slur. They are using the N-word as a gotcha moment and weaponizing it in their arguments. When they do that, they are downgrading the horrible history and intensity of the N-word, trying to make it seem equivalent to a slur from a fantasy series. It’s insensitive, yet they either don’t care or realize how insensitive it is for that matter. The funny thing is, Snape-antis are always the first ones to call somebody else racist. That’s another thing too, the Snape fandom has people from multiple backgrounds, BLACK Snape fans EXIST!

“Snape called Lily a Mudblood, which is equivalent to the N-word” is always their go-to, I stg. Like.Shut.Up. There’s this common pattern (no matter what the topic is) of how Black people and Black issues are ALWAYS used as a comparison to make something seem worse than it is.😵‍💫

(I also would like to get into the topic about how the blood purity ideology in the story is not racism. Racism is a very specific concept, and it’s not the only form of bigotry and prejudice. That’s a post for another time though.)

It’s so frustrating, because why is it always the people who think they’re informed and enlightened end up getting so defensive and dismissive when they get called out?

Do you guys have a Snape moment that’s wrong, and you feel a bit guilty for finding it funny? Mine is “Snape looked coldly at Hermione, then said ‘I see no difference’”. There’s complete chaos amongst the students, but then it ends with the teacher saying the most out of pocket thing. 😭

Yes, it was wrong for Snape to say, but I’m not going to act like it didn’t make me laugh.

Facts about Snape, professor addition

Severus is always exactly 7 minutes late to all staff meetings. Yes, it is on purpose. Yes, every single one of the other Professors have tried to end the annoying habit. Nothing has worked.

Dumbledore has received so many complaints from parents that if he reads "Snape" he automatically sends in the OWL and NEWT test improvements in Potions.

His first year was a rough start, but by Severus's testing averages went from Slughorn's A-E on the lower side average to high E's and O's. The Dreadful fail rate also dropped to two or three students a year.

Severus has asked to be fired no less than 200 times. It hasn't worked.

At potluck events, it's a competition to see who makes the dish that Professor Snape will eat/eat the most of as they get better every year. Professor Sprout is the reigning champion. And Severus will only ever bring napkins from coffee shops.

He has never mixed up any of the Weasley -- even the twins -- ever. It drives Fred and George insane.

He has a coffee pot in the classroom and will fight anyone who tries to take it away from him. Umbrige learned that lesson the hard way.
