We are not just living the war that the world knows We live thousands of wars every day:

War with livelihood

A war with queues for bread, water, the oven, and mobile phone charging

A war with the tent that melted from the heat of the sun and was torn apart War with firewood, smoke and toxic gases

A war with memories that shatter us a thousand times a minute War with insects, rodents, flies, mosquitoes and sand

A war with our brokenness caused by those with whom we discovered faces other than the ones we know and love

Many wars cannot be counted or counted.

Today, I am living a war above all of these wars. I was responsible for one family and today I am responsible for 5 families with 23 members, 10 of whom are children.

As for the war with my children, it is a different war. Imagine your brokenness and feeling of helplessness in front of them. They are begging you to help them with education.

Actually I think having kids is too normalized.

I mean like; not only has it become an expectation for people (not just talking about fascists and sexist pigs controlling women's choices) but people are just so... Out of touch with what "having a baby" actually means.

Not just for the immediate future but also long term.

"We'll cross that bridge if it comes to it!" is an alarmingly common response these days when parents are questioned about the future with their child. People seem to be so caught up in just having a child and a pretty nursery that they don't seem to think beyond that point at all.

I know so, so many people who suffered a shitty upbringing because their parents had a child because "its just what couples do." Parents who never planned for unforeseen circumstances. Parents who left crucial developmental stages to other people. Parents who never bothered to learn how to actually raise another human being.
