⚠️ Mutual Aid Critically Needed! For the Victims of the Wheeling WV Flash Floods

Hey everybody, I’m going to make a more formal and detailed post about it later, but the city one of my good friends lives in was devastated by a flash flood yesterday resulting in numerous fatalities and several missing persons.

Numerous people my friend personally knows have been deeply affected by this tragedy. There’s a mutual aid group in the area soliciting monetary donations, as well as supplies (cleaning supplies, protective equipment for flood cleanup/safety, shelf stable human & pet foods) et cetera.

They’re also looking for volunteers— if you or someone you know is in the area and able to pitch in (or if if anyone else can help send funds or other resources their way), it would be extremely appreciated.

Please spread the word if you can, I’ve attached the mutual aid group’s linktree and their instagram below for more information and places where you can donate.

20 difficult questions for your DnD character (or other ttrpg character) (for when you already have the basics worked out) (theres a lot of gender questions, I'm sorry)

1 What are their nightmares like? Or their dreams in general? Do they dream

2 Typical order when at a tavern or similar establishment?

3 Any notable vocal quirks? Specific words they use too often? Words they don't know but most people do for whatever reason? A tendency to talk around some subjects rather that directly state something? What do they do when uncomfortable? Change the subject? Go quiet and hope nobody notices their silence?

4 Favorite food overall? If they could eat anything instantly what would it be

5 Dream pet? Like completely nonsensical, not practical to own, dream pet?

6 Like 1 weird habit that they think is normal, like for example cutting their nails with scissors instead of nail clippers or eating pasta with their hands. Something odd that nobody told them was abnormal yet.

7 If they had to pick, what animal would be their fursona. Would they happily answer this question or would they think being asked is cringe?

8 Do they have any funky gender shit going on? Are they trans? Are they chill with their body as is? Or are their feelings more complex?

9 Are there any situations where they do something gender wise that may surprise people? (Like the time my bearded man character was like, "Y'all know, I have worn dresses in the past, right?" And everyone went. "Huh? Oh, right, you mentioned something like that. ") Like if you're a Cis woman, do you ever jokingly call yourself a man? Cis, dude? Do you ever call yourself a queen in the positive? Trans? Accidently refer to yourself the way others did before you were out out of habit? Dress differently than usual sometimes?

10 Presumably, you know how your character will dress, but why do they dress like that? Is it comfortable for them? Do they think it looks cool? What would they wear when lazing around? Or at a fancy party? Or mid adventure? Is the answer to all those things the same? Why?

11 If they had acess to the modern internet, what kinda music would be in their playlists? Why? What do they do when listening to music? In the background or do they give it full attention at all times? (This is double fun to think about as a group because they you say shit like "My character likes to listen to X genre but they listen to a little of y genre because another PC is trying to get them into it)

12 How do they wear their hair? How do they like style it? Is it dyed? Did they always do their hair like this? Or is this a recent development? Do they style it differently if they are going somewhere fancy? Or do they let it down at home?

13 Theoretically Pokémon team? Or at least whats their favorite Pokémon? Would they even be into Pokémon? If you asked this would it take 20 minutes for them to answer or would they said "Uhhh Pikachu??"

14 What do they have to be threatened with before they abandon their values? Their life? Their loved ones life? Are their steadfast in their beliefs to a fault? Do they even have any morals they hold dear? How much of this would they admit willingly? Do they believe themselves to be steadfast in their values but actually aren't?

15 Everyone lies to themselves a little bit. What is your character lying to themselves about?

16 What did they look like 10 years ago?

17 Whats their bedside manner like? (How good of a job would they do if they had to take care of someone who was sick or hurt?)

18 Be honest. Are they neurotypical? Or mentally ill? Or both? Did you accidentally write a character who is obviously one or both of these things? It's better to figure it out now before the party figures it out for you

19 How would a younger version of your character feel, seeing themselves now?

20 What stupid hill will they die on? Will they die on the idea that Poptarts are ravioli? Or is that water is or isn't wet? Imo, it's a funny thing to have figured out beforehand so you can bring it up during downtime and force everyone to bond by arguing about it.

PSA to Naturalized Citizens in the US

Some time ago I went to request a new ss card on the social security website and it said I wasn't a citizen despite being naturalized over 15 years ago as a kid. Then found out my parents and siblings have the same problem.

If you're a naturalized citizen of the US check on the Social Security website

You're unfortunately going to have to make an account if you don't have one and confirm your identity.

When you're done request a new card (even if you already have yours) and it'll tell you what the status is

There's an issue where some people were never told they had to change that status with SS after naturalization and that it doesn't automatically change

I'm of the belief that no one should be illegal and fuck ICE all the way, but this is a way to make sure that my fellow immigrants, documented or not, are safe

Okay I JUST realized I never posted these on here—- BUT BASICALLY, about a year and a half ago I started doing these experimental black hairstyle posts that were threads long on Twitter, to give artists a source of inspo for their black ocs whose hair they wanted to try something new with! There’s more to black hair than just the selected styles portrayed in media, and I thought it would be fun to show people how much texture, shape, fades, length, and style can be combined when drawing black hair—-cause it’s a kind of manipulation our hair can do irl!
