it's really annoying how you whine about everyone disliking you; when you do this, i momentarily dislike you

"I don't have people to talk to/hang out with" is a problem for me. I try to work through it on my own, but I've run out of ideas and feel pretty down

I'm told that "whining," or "commiserating," is what people do when they're among friends—it's one of the great uses of "having friends"!

the fact that you dislike me for saying this points to a more fundamental problem:

if I were a likable person, you wouldn't dislike me for "whining"; that you do dislike me for "whining" reveals that I'm not likable ex ante

I'm just trying to figure out why! and what to do about it!

Re: hanging out, could you be more specific about desired vs actual outcome?

Like are you asking a lot of people to hang out and they’re all turning you down? Or is nobody reaching out to you to hang out and you expected that someone would? Or do people find excuses to cut hangouts short on a regular basis and then not try to reschedule and you would expect that they don’t do that? Something else?

all three, but the biggest barrier is the fourth: I can't think of anyone (beyond the people I've already asked) to ask to hang out

I've wracked my brain and come up empty. I think I just suck, but "I suck" is pretty nonspecific—it doesn't give me much direction.
