That one scene from Wilde but 09 SoapGhost… caus it just visually encapsulates their whole dynamic for me. MacTavish in control, oozing confidence - being possessive yet affectionate. With Riley, his loyal right-hand man, sitting on his lap as an equal yet submitting by choice - soaking in the attention. There’s a deep mutual respect and trust there, and everyone can see it.

09 ghost sleeps curled up as tight as possible; knees tucked to his chest, arms wrapped protectively around them, wedged into the corner against the wall. anything he can to try and feel secure

that doesn't change when he finally starts staying after sex with mactavish; even with mactavish there he just can't let himself relax. can’t convince himself that he’s safe

mactavish notices; of course he does, he notices everything about riley

that's why he also notices when it starts to change

months pass and riley stops tucking his arms under his legs, instead just loosely holding them to his chest. then his legs start to relax, slowly spreading out until mactavish can fit his arm between them and his chest for riley to latch onto

it takes years, unwinding muscle by muscle before he finally sleeps splayed out across the bed. he doesn't shove himself into the corner anymore

instead, he trusts mactavish; trusts him to have his back, trusts his bulk to hide him from anyone that would burst through the door

he sleeps better with mactavish's arm slung over his waist, his stomach pressing into his back and legs tangled through his own, than he ever did curled into the corner

Okay sure, you can make an argument for that, but like, isn't destroying Iran's consulate in Syria also a huge escalation? Israel essentially attacked two countries at once and nobody is telling them "wtf what r u doing stop escalating shit!" But the minute Iran launches an attack....

Let me be clear: Iran's regime is legit awful and they don't deserve any support for their many many repressive policies and violations of human rights. Still, I totally get where they're coming from with this. You do not bomb other countries' diplomatic posts and get away with it. Unless you're Israel I guess. Then it's okay 😒

Also, now with all eyes on Iran, people are distracted from what's happening in Gaza which may very well be an intentional side effect on Israel's part. But don't forget: PEOPLE ARE STILL BEING KILLED AND STARVED IN THE GAZA STRIP.

Never forget that this would not be happening had Biden reined in Israel in October '23 instead of giving them a blank check to attack anyone they please. At the very least there should have been consequences for Israel bombing an embassy.

Instead Biden promised iron clad support for Israel. We're now facing the possibility of a huge regional war that will devastate the lives of tens of millions of civilians in West Asia

I’m not familiar with this particular AU, only read one fic (“Fed by His God” by @azilver ) about it and wanted to draw a scene or two. Basically John is a mob boss and a selkie (seal shapeshifter) while Simon’s a wendigo (cannibalistic monster).

For John’s design I got help from the author, and for Simon’s design I went with the First Nation description, which is essentially an emaciated corpse with sharp teeth.

(Also the pose I chose for Simon is him leaning against the unseen balcony railing, that’s why he seems extra short.)
