the way that louis sings "THESE voices, THESE choices" first and then he sings "THOSE voices, THOSE choices" is so personal to me????? since "these" is used to refer to objects closer to you and "those" to objects further away. it symbolizes they (voices and choices) are moving further away from him during the song and he grows more confident and comfortable. IM SO

little freak gives me goosebumps every time i listen to it. the way the refrain talks about having let go of someone and having come to terms with it, just reflecting and remembering the memories. and then later on "jumped in feet first, then i landed too hard" shows so LOUDLY how they fell so hard for someone that they subconsciously didn't leave an option that was comfortable for the other person and how they regret doing that because they know they went too far and that kind of self awareness is just wow

in matilda "doing it all on your own" and "doing it all alone" sounds so similar, idk if he did that on purpose - but it's like the 2 points of view when you don't get the support you should get, you might feel like you achieved something for/by YOURSELF or you might feel like you have been completely alone. the song hurts sm

"nothing about the way that you were treated ever seemed especially alarming till now" because people that hurt you in a way that is not obvious abuse to them will not recognize that they did something until you have a strong change in behavior though they might not even admit they did you wrong at all
