Pierre Jeanneret is not a poet of pen. He is that of structure. (His name is hard you know, you can just call him ‘Pear’.) He has written his loveliest poetry for dear Chandigarh – and the most-loveliest for its university campus — the Gandhi Bhawan in different marble, the Museum of Fine Arts in dear red stone, the Student Centre & Admin in bare concrete, the hostels in geometric humble brick & plaster. For Chandigarh, he wrote, “Bear in mind that as long as I live, I shall be on your side.” And near his end, his wish was to be immersed in ashes with the Sukhna. Come, see him at House # 57, Sector Adieu mon Ami. (अलविदा मेरे दोस्त।) —— - The camera-shy Raman aka  , the upkeeper there, also gifted me these kinnows 🍊 from Pierre’s garden 🌼 Thanks mate! —— - [I don’t know if it was granted or not – presumably not.]
