Okay, I recently was drawing a fanart with evil guys from Ninjago, Nexo Knights and Monkie kid (or better say, heroes who were turned into bad guys)

And when it was done I looked at them and thought: Badass family 😎

And then I remembered the anime "Spy x Family" that I also watched recently (and now waiting for season 2 UwU👌)

It messes with me how King is so wide-eyed here, his eyes so FULL of sparkles and hope because he’s likely in utter awe of his dad here. Like some dream come true, the perfect father appearing for a kid who never had one; Like Luz hoping she was ostracized because she was a chosen one, I bet King is going to think his dad left him because he’s actually some super-cool hero who was doing it to protect him! King is going to think he’s a chosen one too like Luz; Not someone who already DID the cool things as he believed before, but is destined to! This is how King copes and adapts by still believing there’s something special about him…!

And when he realizes the truth, Luz will be there for him again, as someone who’s been there, as always…

King’s like a kid meeting Santa, shy but also thrilled. He looks like he’s tentatively asking his dad to play catch with him, to make up for lost time!
