I agree with your take. I also feel like people are missing how much pride she takes in it. The line “I’m a real tough kid, I can handle my shit” matters a lot to understanding Taylor the entertainer

She definitely does not want to be pitied or babied, and yeah! There is a lot of pride in still being THE BEST at what you do despite having a broken heart. We should focus on that more !!!
