I don't quite consider over 30 members to be a small server (I assume we're talking about the same one?) but maybe that's just the anxiety talking, heh.

So I was considering rogue for Echo, but none of the subclasses quite fit them — I'm having this be Echo with no flower or stolen voice or anything like that. Soulknife would give too much a loophole to his curse, Mastermind would be a hard feat since they can't really talk much, Arcane Trickster I've already kind of crossed off the list with a few other characters so I wanted to do something different, Echo doesn't have their ghost anons here so not Phantom, Swashbuckler, again, meant more for Faces, I don't see Echo as a face, and a lot of other rogues are either more situationally useful, or don't fit them story-wise. Now, my plan is:

two levels in rogue (because hide, disengage, and dash as bonus actions are very nice, and I still think rogue fits them in a lot of regards)

multiclass to ranger, with plans to go into the gloomstalker conclave (we'll see if I change my mind about this once I'm at the level for conclave, but for the moment this is the plan)

maybe wizardry later if I'm feeling it. The idea of this little guy having spells is fun to me, but more just so he can make swirls with his hands and go wooshywooshywoosh.

god maybe he is a bard.

(note: mod has played like, six bards, and loves them all, but is always hesitant to make more lmao)

In case you're wondering, the race I'm using for Echo is Nychterid, since I wanted to give them their wings and audio-themed abilities. Only thing I think I'm changing is Echo is five feet (short king!!) but would probably still be considered small among other Nychterids — since Echo is based on bumblebee bats and have you SEEN flying foxes. Bats vary in size a lot and I think a race based on them should reflect that.

The DM is a friend of mine and has been a mix of chill and hyped about this. I showed him some highlights from this blog. He liked them being called a twink and the utter offense they took to the Great Goth Debate of 2023.

I'm not really one for bigger servers, which is part of why I didn't really feel quite involved when that all went down — I had already stuck myself in the background. But hey, when it comes to smaller groups or one on one stuff, I'm absolutely still down. I've loved writing for this, and some of the memes <3

(hmm, I am honestly wondering in terms of redesign things how much I want to change. like, the ampersand symbol does still represent echo pretty well, outside of epprbcu things.
