Questions that should be asked:
- “How do you say this in italian?” / “Is this an italian proverb?” / “What do you say when...?”  I’ll gladly help with any linguistic question.
- “What do you usually do when - a very specific thing/holiday/event- happen?
- “Is it true that in Italy/ that Italians ... ?” I won’t get offended: I’m here to separate myth from reality (just try not to be too clichè).
- Any question about food. Really. Even if I may not know about it, I will do my best to answer. (example: Have you ever eaten this?/ Is this a real italian food or? Can you make this dish? ...)
- Any specific question about daily routine. Especially about everyday life in Rome.
- “What do Italians think of this thing/ this country/ this famous person?”
Questions that you shouldn’t ask ME:
-”I’m planning on visiting Italy but I can only stay for a couple of days, what places should I absolutely see?” --> and similar.
One: My response would not be completely neutral, on the contrary, it would be very biased (I’d obviously say Rome in any case and for many reasons).
Two: There are so many things to see in Italy that even I can’t tell you what to do. Plan your visit while thinking about your interests. A couple of days are not enough even for Rome. Let alone the entire Italy...
Three: You can find the answer to this kind of questions all over the Internet, if you get a little bit more original or specific I might be able to give you some hints though.
-“I’ve heard about this shopping mall/ fashion event/... in Milan/Venice/etc ...”
This blog is a very general blog, I don’t mind answering a few history/culture related question, but remember that I am not a tourist agency...
And remeber: ALL THE ANSWER MAY BE REALLY SUBJECTIVE, I DO NOT REPRESENT THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, NOR ITS POPULATION (just a small part of it... maybe.)
