Prince Charming vs Prince Sincere
Just like Evan Rachel Wood said "Kristoff is a prince sincere, not a prince charming" and it's obvious that Frozen destroyed the prince charming trope to introduce us the prince sincere trope

Trimberly Princess/Tiger Curse AU
Headcanons below
- Kimberly is a princess. Her parents are searching to find her a suitable husband so she can take over the kingdom after them.
- Kimberly grows lonely over the years, not really able to connect to any of her possible suitors or just to most people in general. Her closest friends are Billy, Jason and Zack who she grew up with since all their parents are employed in the palace as ambassadors. They’re also three of her trained personal guards. She’s even decided to take them on as advisors in the future from all they’ve learned over the years with her on politics.
- Because of the fact that she has to focus on her duties and lessons now that she’s older, she doesn’t have time to see the boys as much which is why she starts feeling more lonely so her parents decide to get her an animal companion for company.
- Because of her frustration with all her new duties that her parents have given her as well as the endless suitors that they keep throwing her way, she stubbornly insists that she’ll only agree if they get her a tiger, thinking they won’t actually get her a tiger.
- It turns out they find a woman in a town nearby who has a “very special” tiger for sale. The Harts invite the woman to the palace to show them the tiger and although nothing seems different about it when the woman first walks into the throne room, as soon as she gets close to them they see the tiger’s bright mesmerizing yellow eyes.
- Kimberly walks into the room moments later to see her parents talking to the strange woman in the green cloak. They three of them are discussing the payment when Kimberly sees the tiger and its bright yellow eyes and she becomes intrigued.
- The tiger is unusually calm and very tame that Kimberly doesn’t have to train it. When Kimberly takes off its metal collar and chain which the woman, Rita, had put on it and sees the scars on on its chaffed neck. Rita was obviously not the best care-taker. She even called the tiger “Yellow” because of its eyes which is not original or creative at all but its what she (the tiger) responds to unfortunately. She’ll think of a new name eventually.
- After a few weeks, Kimberly and her tiger have bonded and Kimberly takes her everywhere with her. People seem more afraid of her now because of how her tiger will snap at anyone that disrespects her. And Kimberly loves every second of it. Even if her tiger can’t understand her, Kimberly still talks to her and tells her about what’s bothering her each day. It’s her way of venting and it becomes comforting whenever the tiger places her head in Kimberly’s lap so the girl can scratch her head between the ears.
- Then one night as Kimberly gets ready to go to sleep, she gets comfortable in her bed with her tiger asleep next to her and pets its head before kissing it and settling into bed. Then in the dark she starts seeing glowing yellow lights flowing around over the bed next to her and she lights one of the lamps on the table next to her bed to see what’s happening.
- When she looks at the spot where Yellow just was, she no longer sees a tiger, but a naked girl comfortably asleep. She screams as she jumps out of bed which wakes the girl up. The girl looks around in confusion before she notices that she’s naked and her face turns red so she pulls the sheets up to cover her body.
- Kimberly asks her who she is and is ready to call for help but the girl pleads for her to let her explain so Kimberly does.
- The girl explains that her name is Trini and that she was cursed by Rita who turned her into a tiger. Apparently she hasn’t been in her human form for a year so she asks Kimberly what she did to trigger this.
- Kimberly blushes and tells her that she kissed her on the head. Now both their faces turn red.
- Trini explains that Rita never said how the curse could be broken but it looks like Kimberly kissing her could be connected.
- Kimberly asks Trini to tell her about herself and Trini explains how her family had been traveling for years before they settled in a town nearby. They were at a low point with their finances so Trini got a job at a young age at a market to her her parents. Rita was a customer there one day and she offered to help Trini with her family’s issues if she’d agreed to meet her that night. Trini hadn’t told Rita anything about her family’s financial struggles so she was surprised the older woman knew so she agreed to meet her.
- She meets Rita in the forrest that night near a lake and she’s grabbed from behind by a tall man in gold-covered clothing. Rita walks out and tells Trini that she can choose to work for her for a few years for Rita to save her family. Trini knows something is wrong so she disagrees at first but Rita starts threatening her about her brothers and her parents so Trini agrees.
- What she didn’t expect was for Rita to turn her into a tiger and keep her around for protection and occasionally sell her for high prices before eventually killing the new owners to get her back and see her off again.
- So now Rita has sold her to the Hart family for a very high price. Kimberly fears that Rita will come after her and her parents next but Trini promises to help her stay safe and defeat Rita if Kimberly promises to help her stay human. After a few hours of talking, Trini turns back into a tiger. Now when she looks up at Kimberly, Kimberly can see the humanity in her eyes. All this time Trini’s understood every word Kimberly’s said to her and was unable to reply.
- After that night, Kimberly kisses Trini on the head every night to turn her human and they spend as many hours as they can talking. First, on ways to defeat Rita, then about themselves. They become close friends quickly and Kimberly becomes excited when she retires to her bedroom each night, knowing that she’ll get to see Trini again.
- Kimberly eventually tells the boys about Trini and even shows them in order to convince them. She gets defensive as soon as Trini turns back into her naked self and covers up the other girl before the boys can even get a chance to look. They’d respect her too much not too but Kimberly has this underlying urge to protect the shorter girl. So the boys decide to help the girls with their Rita problem.
- But for now, Kimberly continues her lessons and avoids her suitors even more now, with Trini always at her side, even if she’s a tiger during the day.
- Kimberly starts realizing that she has feelings for the other girl and she talks to Jason about it since he’s who she’d vent to before Trini. Jason tells her to make a move but she insists that she should focus on other things and that Trini probably wants to focus on Rita right now. She also doesn’t know if the other girl feels the same.
- One day she decides to skip her lessons to go out into town for the day. She turns Trini human that day and they go out into town together. They end their day on the roof of one of the taller buildings in town, watching the sun go down. They almost have their first kiss. Kimberly tells Trini how she hasn’t felt this close to anyone before and Trini says she feels the same way. They both get silent as they look into each other’s eyes and lean in, only for Trini to pull back at the last moment saying that they should get back soon because she feels her transformation coming up soon. She doesn’t tell Kimberly that she really wanted to kiss her but is afraid of both their feelings getting hurt because she’s convinced this won’t end well for them since they’re from such different worlds and since Trini’s cursed.
- Things are quiet for a few weeks before things start going downhill. Rita shows up one night in Kimberly’s room when both girls are asleep. She sees Trini in her human form and gets angry so she takes her out to the balcony by the neck. She realizes Trini has figured out one of the loopholes to the spell and fears that the girl might find a way to get revenge. She she tells Trini that she has to be the one to kill Kimberly and her parents so Rita can resell her to someone else. Trini refuses obviously but Rita threatens to hurt her family again and gives her five days to do it.
- As soon as Rita is gone, Trini wakes up Kimberly and tells her everything. Kimberly tells her parents about everything the next day but Rita must’ve put them under some kind of spell because they don’t believe her. They tell the boys and decide to find Rita that night and finally end it.
- They find Rita at the spot where she first cursed Trini in the forrest. Trini’s in her tiger form so she lunges at Rita first. Rita was expecting them and her and her gold-clothed henchman fight back.
- The boys defeat the henchman and Kimberly and Trini are able to outnumber Rita. The boys join in and Rita lunges one more time to blast Trini before Billy hits her with his staff in the head which knocks her to the ground before Jason restrains.
- Trini turns back to human as soon as she’s injured, the wound on her chest looking more severe than Kimberly thought. The boys restrain Rita so Kimberly runs over to Trini and places her head in her lap, stroking her hair to comfort her.
- She’s crying and overcome with emotion at the fear of losing Trini so she impulsively leans down and kisses her on the lips. The yellow lights and spark that Kimberly sees every time Trini transforms are back but Trini doesn’t transform. Instead, she stays human and her wound starts to heal.
- Rita was linked to the curse so because it was broken before her deal with Trini ended, she loses her power and disintegrates.
- The spell on Kimberly’s parents is also lifted and Kimberly tells them everything including her decision to be with Trini. Trini doesn’t expect her to say that so she’s shocked at first but she smiles with a blush because she’s a soft baby.
- Trini now has the ability to shift into a tiger at will but rarely does it.
- Trini and Kimberly are that power couple ruling the kingdom like the queens they are.
Anw this got very long but shoutout to @reduxrose and @bihoodnerd for the concept here right after the Aladdin trailer dropped lol

How about head cannons for a Supportive Trini's parents IE who do you think takes Trini's coming out better. Does she get kicked out doe they change there ways? Does she get to still see her brothers?
Headcanon for Trini having supportive parents…
I think this could totally happen. It’s common fanon that they’re not supportive, usually due to religion, but we never see Trini’s family as super religious. And, yes, Trini’s mom is a bit out there and overbearing, but we didn’t see evidence that she wouldn’t still support her daughter.
So what could that look like? Well, Trini’s mom has this need to always know what’s going on with Trini. Who Trini’s hanging out with, what she’s doing in her spare time, and if she’s on drugs. Possibly she’s lost someone to drugs so she’s overly cautious of Trini. Whatever her reason for being the way she is, she’s there, in Trini’s face and business at all times. Trini doesn’t do well with people forcing things out of her or making her open up. And this is something her friends learn and adapt to. Her mom? Not so much. So why on earth would Trini want to tell her parents she’s not entirely straight? She isn’t sure what label she belongs to, but she knows she’s not straight.
And this eats at her for a long time. Possibly years. And deep down she does love her parents, even her mother, but she doesn’t know how to be honest with them. Maybe she did with her dad at a young age, before the boys were born, but that was a lifetime ago. Now, he mostly keeps quiet while his wife interrogates. Sometimes he breaks in and tries to get her to ease up, but he too wants to know what’s going on with his daughter. He’s not an absent father, just a more reserved one. Maybe it’s because of that that he knows Trini could have something/some things bothering her that she isn’t sharing with them.
And see, he remembers his daughter as a rough and tumble little girl. Afraid of nothing. Always inquiring about everything. Some days he’d take her out somewhere and she wouldn’t stop talking, because she was so excited to have his time. He remembers that little girl and sees now his teenage daughter who doesn’t talk, who glares at her dinner plate, and he wonders what changed. He wonders if they did something wrong. He wonders if he let his wife go off one too many times. But he knows his wife cares, and worries, and that this is her only way of showing it. They’ve had endless talks about how she needs to calm down more, but that usually ends in her yelling at him.
Trini’s mom may have a slight anger problem.
She knows it. She isn’t proud of it. But her daughter has a way of really setting her off and making her feel like she doesn’t know anything. And she needs to know. Everything. This is her child. Her eldest child. And she knows Trini is unhappy. She knows the moves have been hard on her. But she can’t find it in herself to have an open, earnest conversation with Trini. It’s hard for her. So she finds herself yelling instead. She wishes she could handle it better.
But Trini wants to tell them. She wants them to know that about her. They’re her parents! She loves them. She has been dying for their attention and love since the day her brothers were born. Since the day she was born! And she talked about it with Kim, and Kim supports her. Kim always supports her. Kim told her that it could end badly, but not to focus on that. To instead focus on the possibility that they take it well, and that it starts to mend things between them all. And Trini talked to Zack, and Zack told her to do it. To give them a chance to step up and be her parents. So she decides she’s going to tell them.
Trini waits until her brothers have gone to bed, and she goes downstairs and finds her parents in the kitchen, and she sits them down, and goes through the painful process of opening up to them. Of telling them part of the reason of why she’s been so upset in recent years. That she feels different, and that she feels that she won’t be accepted, and that she wishes she could put a label on it because that’s what you’re supposed to do. She tells them all of it, and she sit with a pounding heart as they digest it. It’s her father, for once, that speaks first. He tells her that she’s ridiculous to think they’d love her any less just because of that. He tells her that it’s okay to not know what she is, as long as she’s figuring out who she is. He takes her hand and he squeezes it, and she almost cries. But her mother hasn’t said anything yet, and that’s what she’s dreaded the most.
June looks up at Trini and shakes her head slowly. Trini feels everything starting to crash in and grips her father’s hand harder, then her mom speaks. “I wish you had told us. Your father is right, Trini, we won’t love you any less because of this. I just wish you could tell me things more often. I wish you-” And her husband cuts her off and shakes his head.
And Trini…Trini is soaring. She can’t believe what she heard. She was preparing herself for the worst, but it actually went okay. There were no hugs and kisses, but they came through for her.
In the following months and years, Trini’s dad tries harder to spend time with her. Even if they don’t talk. Sometimes they do. He was the first one she told that she was dating Kimberly, and he was the first one she told when she wanted to propose. He was there for her as she got older, and she felt like she had her father back. She didn’t care that they didn’t have deep conversations, or that he was a little awkward when she brought Kimberly over for dinner the first time. He was trying, and that was everything to her. And the day he walked her down the aisle, where she would wait for her bride, he had the biggest grin on his face. He kissed her cheek and said “I love you, Trini” and she couldn’t have been any happier in her life. He was there to help her and Kimberly fix up their first house, he helped them find their second, and he was the proudest grandpa in the world.
Trini’s mom had meant what she said, but it took her a little more time to get used to it all. She was uptight when Kim came over for the first time, and when the girls went to Trini’s room she yelled about the door staying open. But she saw, before anyone possibly, how her daughter felt about Kim. She knew her child, even if she didn’t know her. She knew Trini was in love. And it was hard for her, because she had expectations of how their lives would all go, and letting hatred or homophobia into their lives, hurting her daughter in any way, wasn’t what she had envisioned. Who would want their child to be hurt in that way? But as the years went by, she loosened up. She realized it was more about her expectations and assumptions than any issue with Trini being gay or being in a relationship with another girl. Because really? June liked Kim. A lot. Kim was outspoken and loud, and it almost reminded her of herself. Before the children. She silently prayed that if they ever had kids, Kim would learn to talk to them like she never quite had. Trini’s mom found friends who also had children who were gay, and they helped her ease up about it all. By the time the girls were graduating college, June had a pride flag on the back of her car. When they got married, June sat in the front row weeping with joy. She had never seen her little girl happier, and seeing that kind of smile on Trini’s lips healed everything in her heart. And then, when they adopted a beautiful baby boy, and when she held him for the first time, she knew that he was going to have the greatest life with wonderful mothers.
Trini knew she had a 50/50 shot when she told her parents that night, but she never imagined just how beautiful her life would be with them standing behind her and supporting who she was.

trini / number twenty ?
What-ifs/Alternate Timelines
there’s a universe where the team is built with the green ranger, and it’s the yellow coin that sits with the villain.  here’s the team: they’re still all at the mine, they still flee in billy’s minivan.  they’re still hit by the train, they still bond with their coins.  here’s trini: miles away, she wakes in a cold sweat in the dead of night.  her heart is pounding.  the universe demands balance.
after whatever yellow ranger villain is defeated and half of angel grove is destroyed, trini’s mother’s company gets the bid to help rebuild it, causing them to relocate again, for trini to switch schools again, for her to be the weird girl again.  she hates it, and she hates that group of kids that keeps just…….hovering in her periphery.  they all feel drawn to this tiny, angry girl who refuses to make eye contact with anyone, whose locker has already been defaced at least twice, and no one can quite name it.  kim - well.  kim thinks she’s in love, but that might just be her.
trini’s at the quarry one day, because she figured out it’s abandoned and usually quiet enough in the early morning for her to just take a deep breath, feel the weight of her own lungs for a moment.  it’s late enough and she sees those weird kids from school again, and really - she’s bored.  can anyone blame her for following them?
that’s sort of how she accidentally finds out that those weirdos from school are also those superheroes from the news
it does not go over very well
“WHAT THE FUCK”
*assorted screaming*
somehow that’s not even when things get really weird
the yellow coin follows her.  it appears on her nightstand that morning, after trini ran home and faked sick to stay home from school, processing what the fuck she’d just seen.  it looks like those weird stone things that those other kids always have on them, that they’re always so squirrely about, so trini tosses it.
it appears in her backpack an hour later.  then her jeans pocket.  then the fridge.  anywhere and everywhere she might be - it’s there.
then comes the accident.  it makes the news; trini’s walking home from school one day when a car comes barreling around the blind corner that leads to her neighborhood and mows her down and and and - she should be dead.  she should have died.  instead she’s taken to the hospital, miraculously only bruised, and the yellow coin pulses in her pocket.
when she gets home the next night, with her mother wrapping a rosary around her and kissing her forehead and thanking jesus for sparing her little girl, there are five people waiting in her bedroom
“what the SHIT”
kim: “so.  we may have gotten off on the wrong foot.”
this is all to say: trini is a reluctant superhero at first, finds herself lacking in the ways of moral clarity, finds it difficult to balance saving the world in her spare time with calculus II.  the others are handling it better and it makes sense, because they’ve had far more time and practice to yield better results, but it still sucks.  it’s still isolating and trini’s used to isolation, but she’s not used to the pull she feels towards these other kids, not used to the inherent ease she feels when being near them, not used to the way she almost looks forward to zack’s tackle-hugs or to jason’s slightly overbearing team-dad thing or to the way billy structures his arguments on why exactly dc is better than marvel or to the way tommi is always sort of right there when trini starts to have dark thoughts or to kim - just kim in general really.
she’s not used to people really caring about her when they don’t have to, and it is so painfully evident that kim cares.  they all do, trini realizes slowly, over time; kim just does it a little louder.
she starts driving trini places, because trini doesn’t have a license, let alone a car.  she makes it a point to go out of her way to pick up donuts in the mornings, because she notices that trini never eats breakfast.  she keeps an extra jacket in her locker because trini gets cold easily.
it’s wild and discomfiting and trini doesn’t know what to do with the warmth that blooms in her chest
good thing she doesn’t really need to know - kim can feel it too
the universe in which trini is not an original member of the rangers is one in which she’s a little more wary, a little more gun shy at the thought of being anyone’s hero.  it’s one where she has to learn and she has to learn fast what it means to care and be cared for.  it’s one in which falling in love is a little less of a firework and more of a gentle easing into warm waters, your body and mind acclimating slowly, slowly.  it’s one where everything works out, in the end
