Ok so ik things are kinda abt idol ayuu rn. But question abt mer siblings, does Mayu still have the ability to sic Floyd on her enemies or is he less interested in helping her.

😭 NOOO I promise I still have more mermayu stuff to drop (including a few asks in the drafts), I just get too easily distracted with new ideas and end up doing those first while they possess me 😭😭 but both idol mayu and mermayu are very much still things I plan to work on further!

Anyways, funnily enough I think Floyd's less inclined to care in the mermayu AU since they 1. both grew up in the "every man for themselves" sea so they're both used it 2. it's funnier to pretend he doesn't know her at school and see how she fares, and Floyd canonically treats his brother & childhood friend Azul differently (no nicknames, doesn't really care about squeezing) so it'd make sense he just leaves Mayu to her own devices 🤔 (more reason for Jamil to assume she has nothing to do with them too..)

Anyways– I woke up this morning with a random thought. Which is:

If Jamil finds a bug in the house (and that's assuming he hasn't somehow made the house bugproof) would he attempt to set it on fire or something to get rid of it himself OR, and here's my thought, would he get Rami to remove it for him

I mean he could probably also just ask Mayu if he doesn't go the flaming beetle route but still 🤔

There is truly no such thing as a bugproof house because in my experience no matter how hard you try to prevent their entry, they still always somehow manage to materialize in the house 💀

If we reference the Halloween event then there is a non-zero chance that Jamil does or nearly does set the place on fire just to destroy the Buge 😭 Jamil please restrain yourself the property damage is not worth it- Mayu'd be more than happy to be the bug-killer in the relationship, but if she's not around and he's going to use Rami to get rid of it... I'm picturing him doing that thing where like a human holds up their cat against a bug on the wall to make the cat deal with it, but replace it with a baby LMAO (Rami whacks it with a tiny hand as Jamil sighs in relief only to turn and see Mayu standing there like 🧍‍♀️)

Hii!! First ask ever, I'm more of a lurker but I just wanted to say I love Rami! He's so cute and funny and he unironically reminds me of my irl bestie so I love him even more

I also have an oc who's supposed to be like a student who goes though the same thing as the player but like 25 years later so I've been imagining a lot of scenarios between the two of them like :

after seeing your fankid, rami (i love him sm), a question popped into my mind: since he's so fascinated with bugs, etc., did he ever bring home random bugs as a kid that he'd find while playing? like i can imagine him coming home with a beetle or something and being like "mom, dad! look what i found! 🤩" and then jamil faints from shock-

Oh for sure, if like Jamil took him outside and took his eyes off of him for a few seconds, there's a high chance Rami comes back excitedly with a new friend in hand (worm on stick anyone) and asks Jamil to "say hi" to mr buggy #1023 💀 meanwhile Jamil has to use all of his self-control to not overtly freak out/pass out while every muscle in his body is tensing up because he does NOT want to see that

RAMI IS SO CUTE!!!! I'm so invested already. It's so cute how he both competes and looks up to his dad (even though he'd never admit it..... Something that sounds familiar.... Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.....), what is his relationship with Mayu like??? And if not scarabia, was there any other dorms that he was leaning towards or was it anything besides his dad's dorm? And UNCLE KALIM!!!??? AUNTIE NAJMA?????

The tsundere genes are too strong, he is never admitting that 😔 (even though it's literally so obvious to everyone else) And YEAH uncle Kalim and auntie Najma would so be the type to spoil the kid, Najma's totally squeezing his cheeks and calling him cute and complimenting him for being so unlike his dad who is NOT cute at all (Jamil: no comment) while Kalim brings wayyyy too many gifts that Jamil has to constantly turn down like 75% of 😭

ANYWAYS to answer your questions:

I still need to think about it in more detail, but I'd say given how much Jamil Nags™, Mayu by contrast is the parent that's more chill so Rami runs off to complain to her about how mean Jamil is 😭 they're close but she's also not lenient enough that she lets him do just anything, e.g. she supports his interests but if he ever goes too far and actively bothers Jamil with his collection he'd get a firm reminder it's not okay to make fun of people's phobias (He and Jamil probably have an uneasy truce where he's allowed to have his collection but it MUST be stored out of Jamil's sight 💀). She's kind of both a mediator and also the parent who's normally super chill but also far scarier if she is mad about something because it's so rare 😭 also the amount of times she'll see the two fighting and think to herself wow they're so alike and not be able to say that because she knows both would deny it is like, too many

I don't see him preferring any dorm in particular (would be insanely funny if it was Octavinelle), all he had in mind was to not be in the same dorm as his dad because that'd be too cringe (bro tries so hard to act like he's different and yet he has the same preference for braids and eye makeup, it's like the harder he tries to act different the more obvious it is that he isn't)

Speaking of dorms, I have a feeling that even if he was offered the dorm leader position he'd decline it just because he "doesn't feel like" having that much responsibility, he wants more free time to do his own thing and explore nature (and find more crazy local species). Which Jamil might just die a little inside hearing about 💀

Oh boy good question, I don’t have many ideas yet since I just focused on designing Rami himself first then was going to figure out the rest later (oops), but in addition to the above screenshots that I associate with babamil (“baba” is dad in Arabic so I had to):

Definitely overprepared and stressed way way too hard over everything about being a dad at first, read every single book under the sun with relevant information and took extensive notes, and you bet he's planning everything. Nutrition? He's making sure all meals are perfectly balanced. Safety? He's child-proofing everything way ahead of you. Education? He's already got a whole list of books to read to the kid divided by age ranges. He had to be reminded many times to take it easy, because nothing ever goes as planned when it comes to this stuff 😭

For this reason he probably thought just having 1 kid is stressing him out so much it's giving him gray hairs and he doesn't want to do this again, so Rami doesn't get any siblings (absolutely not because I don't have ideas for another one)

On that note, with canon Jamil I have a feeling he'd be very reluctant to have a family of his own because of his circumstances + the Viper name is a heavy burden to bear, I think he wouldn't want to subject another generation to what he went through. Rami kind of exists in a non-canon timeline to me, but if Jamil were to have his own kids it'd be later on, probably after he's freed of servitude and has had time for himself to travel, figure himself out, etc.

He's the "no-fun" type well into fatherhood, you know that one meme that's "we have food at home?" That's him 100%. Takeout is so unhealthy, and what, are you dissatisfied with his cooking? Unbelievable... (Rami thinks he nags so so much, it's so annoying 🙄) But he really does try to do a good job at disciplining his kid properly I'd say, Rami will come to appreciate it eventually (hopefully)

Appearance-wise I don't have a concrete design in mind yet, but I like the idea of him wearing his hair in more half-up styles than fully tied in a ponytail, just for some extra variation. Dude's turning heads when he goes to parent-teacher conferences 😭

Probably judgmental of how other parents raise their kids once he's been in that position 💀 What do you mean you let your kid have a phone at 8? Do you not know how bad that is for their development, etc. etc.

The one thing he's generous about is that he supports his kid exploring their interests fully, because he wasn't allowed that freedom when he was a kid. If they want to sign up for extracurriculars, he's letting them pick anything they want, even better if they want to shine in competitions.

With Rami in particular, he grumbles about how in the Sevens is this kid so difficult (they clash because they are literally so similar), where did he learn these things from, while Mayu quietly thinks well he literally just takes after you...

On at least one occasion he probably answered the door while holding the baby and looking exhausted and uh. Was mistaken as the mom 💀

Came to me at work today but, for your Idol Mayu AU (MAU?) I imagined a member of Mayu's idol group is Nadjma/Jamil's sister whose been keeping her relationship with Jamil quiet to avoid being compared for him or accusations of him helping her get the job and just...her watching Jamil and Mayu spend all this time training together and just hearing Mayu say she had to send him voice recordings at midnight or something and thinking to herself "which could mean nothing 👀"

I had like, no idea who'd be in Mayu's group and originally thought Najma could be a fan of the group later who gets very 🤨 at Jamil later owning merch because she recognizes it, but Najma being in the same group is a really good idea too... I also really like your idea of her keeping her relationship with him a secret so she can focus on her own career, although they share some really obvious similarities (the iconic Viper rbf lmao) I wonder who has already figured it out 😭

She knows aaall the insider tea regarding the arrangement but can't tell anyone, so she resorts to confronting her brother over text about what the hell is he doing to her poor group member + pretending she knows nothing about this guy that Mayu's telling the group about, oh the double life you have to pull off Najma-chan...
