Some pictures from a small Malifaux tournament I played in today. Wound up being lazy and only playing Ramos, but the strategies/schemes were in my favour... Sadly the cards were not and went 1-1-1 after three games and finishing 4:th tied with 3:rd until 2:nd tiebreaker. :) All in all fun. Looking forward to the Swedish Malifaux Nationals in October.

Finally finished the Arcane Emissary for my Arcanist crew(s). Cool model, but a bit wierd  with the rough texture on the arms. All in all, turned out OK. If I had to paint it again I would’ve gone for a less blue tint on the skin.

Next up is to paint the Troubleshooter:s crew box (Ironsides).

Apparently the newish Emissaries for Malifaux are good/broken. So why shouldn't I try the Arcanist one. Been playing it with Mei Feng a few times and it is quite decent for the 10 soulstone cost. Just some more highlights and finishing touches left to go.

Pictures from a Malifaux tournament I played in this thursday. Ended up undefeated after 4 rounds and winning the tournament. Was a day well spent. Thanks to all my opponents and the tournament organiser.

Finally based the Troubleshooters box (the Ironsides Crew Box), as well as the Arcane Emissary. Now I just have to base and paint them. I feel my hobby backlog in Malifaux is waaay to long so it is time to try and get more up to date. :)

Played a game of Malifaux today. 50 Soulstones, Gaining Grounds 2017. We played Interference. I played a Mei Feng crew vs a Hamelin rat engine crew. I won 10-2 after five turns. It went much better than anticipated, partially because he drew the black joker during his first turb when he was about to start summoning rats, which set his plans back one turn, and Mei Feng and the Firestarter made short work of Nix and Killjoy, but it couldve swung the other way just as easily. Good game.

Trigger Happy III Game 4. Guard the Stash. Kaeris vs Misaki. Won 8-6.

Game 3: Squatter's Right. Kaeris vs Reva. Draw, 0-0 (slow play so we only managed two turns...)

Trigger Happy III Game 5. Collect the Bounty. Mei Feng vs Lady Justice. Win 5-0.

Trigger Happy III Game 2: Interference. Kaeris vs Leveticus. Loss 8-3. Still hate the red joker mechanic.

Trigger Happy III, Game 1: Kaeris vs Perdita. Lost 6-8. Good game, but Perdita is due for a nerf no doubt.

I’ve really been at a hobby low recently. Haven’t played many if any games and spent even less time painting and modelling. However the last few weeks I have been spent some time trying to base the models from my Deathwatch Overkill box. Aiming for that industrial look, and so far I feel it looks decent. Wasn’t that difficult either. Might try to include some piping and cabling as well on the base, we’ll see.

I felt that with the MK3 Legion of Everblight and Cryx factions being... sub-par (especially Cryx), and not really interesting, it was time for something completely different. Who knows, maybe I’ll even like 40k 8th ed, when and if it is released.

2016 was a bad year for me as far as painting and gaming went. Sure I painted some and played some, but the time nor the interest were really there. Which is also a reason to why this post came almost two weeks into 2017.

I hope 2017 is going to be alot better, but we’ll see.
