Development:
For the presentation I was going to use my concept book and pass trough page by page, but then I thought 13 minutes weren't enough with the promotional video included, so my idea was to prepare a presentation with key concepts and just small text, were I could just develop my major project just by talking and telling the story behind, also because I wanted to include points of my planning folder in the presentation, to check if I had make it what I was planning to do or not, so my Idea was to create a simple and straight forward presentation , and when the professors see my concept book, relate with my explanations were.
here are the contents of my presentation, I also wanted to give a visual that was similar to the book in this presentation, and also I wanted to use some colours that were my first ideas for the concept book, with the details in the corners, but I thought would be too cliché, that's why I used the presentation to be more simple and straight froward.

The promotional video I knew it from the beginning would be a challenge for me, I've never ever done anything like editing or doing a video animated, so I was really struggling of how to do.
I don't know how to use after effects or how to animate something, my boyfriend in the other hand knows, I was hopping to get some help but he had to work a lot this pasts months so I was trying to figure it out how to do a promotional video.
first I did a script of what I was going to say, after I saw some examples of past years project, I needed to first tell my name and the projects name, second tell the story of the project, and third tell how the project would work.
so divided my video like this, my problem was how to create the video, and them Canva again released a update of a video maker, and this was a salvation to be honest, it was very intuitive as I thought would be, but at the same time it was difficult so I had to learn a little more.
Canva do the video editing look like you are doing a power point, that was helpful for me but there was a problem, Canva did not have how to put sound in the video, so I was stuck in this part, after my video was done I passed the video to DaVince Resolve program.
this program was what I used to put sound in my video, I recorded myself in my phone, saved the audios and tried to combine with the video and it worked.
For the music in the video, I wanted something eerie but with a tragic sound, and I was looking for some free sounds and nothing was good to match the video, so I've found this site:
This site I could find the song that I wanted and music fitted perfect with what I was looking for, the music was made by:

For the concept book planning, at first I've had done a sketch, but after a talk with Neil I thought it was too confusing and when I was planning I would be confused of how to create the final piece, here is the first sketch of the concept book:
after that I went to do my panning on the website Canva, that I am used to use already, and where I do most of my presentations, and it was good to plan there because is a website of design, and it is useful because has all the guidelines and I could have a better vision of how would be.

What I enjoy about Canva is that is very intuitive and the program did not change much after they released, and also there is posts of other designers that you can see the elements that they used and how they used, so it was nice to use Canva to create the design of the concept book.

The forest concept was a fun concept to do, in this week I was more inspired to do the concepts for the forest, I wanted to do concepts where the person seeing the concept book could see close ups of the forest, and also some paintings of how would be during the night and a concept of how would be the person playing the game would see and finally a concept of Misha inside the forest, because the forest will be a important part for her in the game.
first I did the close up the tree with nature around, I wanted to show how is the nature there, and how is the texture of the trees and the plants, so my idea was to create a close up of a tree base with nature around, and this is the concept:
for the second concept I wanted to create the environment at dawn and also show how the forest can be different from during the day and during the night, so for this concept I used more dark colours and also used a lot of shades, to create the environment of someone looking in the forest without knowing what is inside, and the concept ended like this:
For the concept of someone playing the game I wanted to practice as well my perspective, because was something that I propose to myself to do, I wanted to create a environment where the person playing as Misha is looking under a bridge, it was hard to do it but I've really enjoyed the result, I could see that my efforts in environment art were getting better.
And finally I wanted to create a concept of Misha inside the forest, I've liked the concept but I am not super sure if I liked the Misha painting, if I had more time I would have done her better.

Development:
For the Lantern room of the light house I wanted to keep the strategy to show the structure of the environment, but with the lantern I wanted the dome to be a "main character" I wanted to show that the nature could only be outside, and the weeds and the nature that are inside they don't even get near to the magical crystal.
Also was a challenge for me lantern room, because a round environment was hard to create, and because I wanted to be the crystal the centre of the concept, because the mission is to destroy or take his magic off.
A challenge for me was also how to create a glass dome with the weeds inside, because I was thinking in how the light and shadow would look like in this.
I also used the Peleng Brushes to paint the Lantern room of the light house, the weeds I wanted to show them as much alike how is in the final concept of the light house, I wanted to be like a picture just with zoom, so I tried to make the most alike the light house full structure is.

the light house room was a bigger challenge for me, because was environment and also something with details, and 3D dimensions, I told that I was going to explore some 3D work for this concept book, I've done, but my computer crashed multiple times while doing it, and also honestly I was suffering to learn.
I've tried to do one house that was the house next to the light house in a 3D model using this tutorial:

But I couldn't do, after that I research how to do the basic of a 3D drawing-painting for a room in witch people could see the walls and the details inside, or something to help me start to do a environment concept art, and I found this tutorial that was very helpful:

So after that I tried to do something with the tips and strategies that the video show's and I manage to create my concept for the room of the light house:
Also just for not being just the room for the concept pages of the light house, I wanted to do something like a ruin for the Misha knows when she is near to the light house and I've done this concept of a willow tree, in a portal, I choose a willow tree because the willow tree represents sorrow in my country, is known as "crying lady" I wanted to represent the sorrow that the king was feeling.

For the light house I wanted a strong visual, I wanted something different but without loosing the shape of a normal light house, because I thought if I did that, probably it wouldn't be a light house anymore, for the painting I believe it was the painting that I've tried my best to achieve, I am terrible to do landscapes or environment, that's why I propose myself to create a concept book with a lot of environments, I wanted to explore this, and also I wanted to challenge myself to do something different.
I am very proud of the result of my light house, also I wanted to give the light house this appearance of something that is there for so long that, the nature took over, and only inside of the dome, where the magical crystal are, to be intact.

I've also used the Sergey Kolesov (peleng) Brushes, I really love his art, and his brushes were available for free so some of the brushes that I've used for the light house was from him.

Development:
Another Spirit that will be important for the story is the Goat Spirit, she will be the spirit that will give Misha the final guidance for the destruction of the power of the light house, she will be in the first room of the light house, I've choose her to be a goat because in the spiritual meaning the goat mean strong spirit and also normally is related to youth.
So that's why I choose the goat to represent the "keeper" of the lantern room, for her concept, I wanted to her to have a very strong posture and also her hair I wanted very curly and and big, to show her grace.
For her mask I wanted something very elegant and I wanted to give emphasis to her hands position, to show that in her past life she is some kind of royalty or something near to royalty, her past life she was the Queen companion, and she knew all the Queens secrets, and before the ritual the Queen gave her the scroll with the magic to break the ritual and also the key for the lantern room of the light house.

For the spirits I wanted to create them very the mixed of the human with animal, also one of my inspirations for this project was the project from semester A the "human inhuman" project, I really enjoyed this project, I wanted to explore more this concept.
Also for the spirits I searched animals with spiritual meanings, so the personality of the spirits will be based of their animal spirit, because in the story their animal spirit is what protect them from the power of the crystal, I also wanted to make them very hybrid, also the pose I wanted to explore how they would be in the environment.
Here is a video of the process of one of the spirits, the Macaw Spirit, I choose a macaw spirit also to represent a little of my home country Brazil, macaw are a very beautiful bird and they are elegant and shy animals, also the lady spirit that will be the macaw spirit, I wanted her with a very Brazilian appearance.

For the Grandmother I wanted to give a strong face, but with a "weak" like body, also I have difficulties to draw old people, so her concept was a challenge for me, I wanted her to have a the hair of very typical old lady and also the pose, I've also done some sketch's of her in poses, like reading a book to tell Misha stories, but I didn't add to the concept book, not yet, at least, I'm still thinking if I should add, I don't know if will have time to finish, because is in a very early stage to the drawing. but at least is something to show her in a different pose, also I don't think the drawing looks too much like her.

I will also add here on of the concepts process, in this video there is also the beginning of the sketch's for the grandma concept and the side face painting process.

Development:
For Misha's Grandmother she will be a important NPC in the game, because she will be the person that Misha will get items from, and also build items from with items that you can get in the forest.
Because she is a artisan I wanted to give her a more light look, and the outfit was inspired in a medieval old lady that helped the population in healing, during labours and also in crafting items, so her look was based in this dresses that they used to wear.
The items that I've put on her concept I wanted to show at least 2 main items that it will be important in Misha's adventure, that will be the lantern that is her first item, and the mask that she will use in the adventure to see the spirits, for the mask I imagine something that she will get things in the forest to give the Grandmother build this mask.

For Misha's final concept I wanted as I have it in my artists references the poses doing activities and also to show how her clothes would be in a movement situation, also I think the poses help the person seeing the concept to imagine how the character would be inside of the game.
I wanted to make a concept of her also using a item that she will have in the very beginning of the game, that will be the Grandmas Lantern, so my idea was to do 2 finalized concepts, one of her using a item, another of her helping the village in any task, so my idea was to do first her using the lantern and the other of her carrying a basket of vegetables and fish to someone, to make a delivery.

I wanted her colours to be very "earth" pallet, also, I wanted to show the clothes using, that's why I showed that she can fit thing in her pockets in one of the concepts, the other, I wanted her to be kind of curious face, to show her expressions better.
Her skin colour, I wanted to give it a little tan and also more pink, because she live near to the sea, and she is white, that's why I wanted her to have more of this appearance.

For Misha's concepts I wanted the poses of her doing something in the village, or poses that could show the flexibility of her clothes, also I wanted something that gave her more feminine shape, and did not change too much from the other characters from the village.
So I did a page of sketches and small concepts for her outfit, based also in the concept 1 of the the 3 picture in one of the posts down.
I wanted something also with pockets that she could carry things, and baggy pants, and a tight shirt to give her shape, also I want something with details, so I also added to the outfit the clothe suspensory.

Basically for the concept page sketch I want to give her the average view of her, I wanted to show her details and how her outfit is, and also show a little of her personality with her facial expressions.

Development:
For Misha development I tried to explore the poses that my references had, poses doing any activity or something related of how her personality is, so I tried to explore that.
Also I've change her clothes during the process, because she is someone that does manual activity, and also are doing things in the sea, I lived in a city like this during most of my life.
I lived in Ubatuba, a city in Brazil, and the I used also to be in a boat for most of the day, and fish, and do a lot of manual work, so I wanted something that was a outfit that a person that lives in a city like that could use.

The outfit had to be something that is useful in this kind of environment, and also be related with the outfit of the villagers and the rest of the characters, I wanted her to be a part of everything, not just something different from everything else, and the villagers outfit were inspired by Asian fisherman outfit and medieval villagers outfit.

For the main character Misha, at first I wanted to create her style with dress, because I wanted her to have a more feminine style, but her personality doesn't match this too much, and also because she does a lot of hand work in the village, so I've choose her to wear something more similar with the fishermen's in the village.
So my first concept of her was something like this, more feminine, and also I wasn't sure also about her face, I think it wasn't so much what I was looking for, so I did very simple drawings and concepts for her outfit, to develop after I choose one.
I liked the first one and I developed more the outfit, I wanted that she wear more loose outfit, and also I wanted her to wear slippers like 3 concept of the first image, and some outfit close to the first outfit of the 3 image.

For the final concept of the village that was the point of view that someone in the game, I used the Procreate assist for the perspective witch is something that I have difficulties on.
I wanted to give the view of someone in the beginning to the game, were would be Misha (The main character) leaving a boat after helping one of the villagers to fish in that day, I want to give this perspective for someone in the beginning of the game, to also give more dept to Misha's personality.
that's why I've choose the point of the boat in front of her and the village in the back, here is the video of the process.
I was also wondering if should add someone in front of the boat, but I think would block the main point of the concept witch would be the village, that's why I choose to be just the environment and I've add a concept of a villager in other page to be more clean and give also more dept to the main point witch is the village concept.

Development:
The village I wanted to create something were the viewer could see a little of the island and also how the people that live there, dress, how are the scenarios, witch instruments they use, I wanted to create a page were people could understand how is life there.
I've also tried to apply the techniques that my references use, and to create something similar to my concept book reference, I want something organic and loose, so I tried to create the drawings and the concepts on the same page to see how they look together.
Also to I had in mind on of the pages would be a double page with one concept, so I've worked in a concept that would show how someone playing the game would see, in game, I've tried to add a perspective of someone inside there, this allowed me to work on my perspective abilities, that were something that I push my self to train for this major project, Leo showed me also, something in the procreate program that helps in the perspective, witch I used to create my environments for the project.
here you can see what is this setting that help, I don't know why in the video doesn't show, but I will but a image for the understanding of what I used.
So for my concepts this was something that I've used a lot, and it help me a lot with the question of perspective.
