far into the future of my au it's gonna be like. darkrai finally shedding that deeply rooted persona of wanting everything and everyone to suffer. (it's gonna take a long long long while to get there lol.) and then it's like yay! problem solved! everyone's happy now! (not. mz in particular still can't forgive. he isn't entitled to her forgiveness and he won't get it.)

but anyway. cressy turns to darkrai in a moment of quiet and is like. "hey. im so happy to see you better like this. it made it all worth it. im glad everything's going to be okay now."

.. and darkrai stares in quiet sadness. "i wish i could see you get better, too."

and cressy is confused. did he imply she's not okay? but she's fine? she doesn't understand.

thus begins a new arc of cressy being the one in denial and needing to be drawn out of her own persona lol

might be a sign of the interest coming back swinging (i hope so??) but i just realised something about how ive been characterising darkrai and cressy and it's like a jimmy neutron brain blast fr

they've both let themselves become wholly identified by their powers. they've locked away any part of themselves that doesn't align with the nature of their abilities.

cressy doesn't have a selfish bone in her body bc she's a healer she helps others she's not allowed to think about herself so she doesn't. thoroughly purged it all from her personality so it doesn't even feel like acting anymore. she tells herself she's made to help, she's happy to help, forces it to be real because it's easier that way. it's not exactly a mask, it's like... mental self mutilation? but it's okay because it doesn't hurt and she's happy, really. (is it okay? is she happy? who knows anymore.)

So two of you might already know, but I will say it again either way. I had a really rough time around the end of September 2024 with stress that left me almost no free time and meant constant work to do. It was one hell of a month that I had to power through and your content and fanfictions were like the only things that kept me going and powering through it all. I remember the days when I scrolled through Irri‘s blog reading all the silly ramblings and looking at all the cool content and art that you created <333! Then continued to check ao3 and found Sofie‘s fanfic filling the little breaks I could give myself at the beginning of all that stress. Once I finished it all I still remember it giving me such a push to finish one of the many huge things I had to complete in that time. And during the peak and end of it all Nefer‘s fic helped me carry the burden of everything coming together and trying to swallow me whole.

I must say most of these days are just such a blur cause I don’t remember anything else than working and reading, but I know I once laid there on the couch in the middle of the night, pmd music playing in the background and reading Avol. It was one of those moments that happened with all three of your works where I could just drift off and unwind free from the stuff I had to do. So yeah :) I finished everything, am still here and kicking! I think not a lot of people actually speak it out loud when someone encourages them, helps them through a rough time or just in general makes them happy :) I always wanted to let others know when their work is just amazing, so thank you three.
