Hot World Summer Part 7: Rivers, Lakes, and Seas
You will note a lack or rivers. They're there, ya girl just lazy.
This was a quick part, as I just rolled for how many seas and lakes the region has. I knew there had to be at least some inland seas, as this had been determined during a previous phase, so I was prepared to reroll until I got some, but didn't have to. As for lakes, I dropped their number because of the arid climate in the region. So here we have it. There are two inland seas in the central area of the map, as well as two lakes in the moors down south by the coast, plus another lake in the mountains (which is probably really hard to make out on the map but it's there). I'll be adding the rivers later, along with some glaciers that feed them.

Next time: "Human" Geography, where things finally get interesting

At this point the original 5e ruleset is becoming part of "the old ways" ... 5e is now approximately the same age as 3.5e was when 5e released.
Saw someone suggest making flanking (an optional rule in 5e) +2 attack instead of advantage, and then someone else note that this is just reinventing some condition from Pathfinder 2e that gives -2 AC.
How quickly the old ways are forgotten.

I don't know that this is correct - all the online sources I can find suggest the etymology of "Deutsche" is closer to "[the language] of the people" - in a similar vein, Deutschland is "the people's land", in the sense of "people" as synonymous with tribe or ethnicity.
Bring before me your D&D 5e house rules and I shall judge their worth!

Style test! I vastly prefer greyscale and grungy styles, and want to head more toward that direction one day! Maybe not for WOF content, but practice for now.

In a little "draw the OC above" I picked @werepaladin's awesome character Apostolis who's design I fell in love with instantly! I had a super fun time with this piece, I'm trying to get back into more full looking and finished work again and this character was great to do it with!

I don't know how tumblr works. Plz help.
So I'm new to tumblr. Tbh, I've avoided it like the plague. But now I'm here and I'm not sure how reblogging works. Is it just the same as retweeting? Can I post something in my main feed and reblog it in a community?

fun behaviors to give dragons that aren't feline/canine based
cause as much as i love dragons purring and roaring i wish there was just more variety in how they would act
clacking their teeth together to show contentedness/happiness (budgies)
using tails as a defensive weapon in a whip like fashion (iguana)
twitching to express that they're not a threat to members of their species (hognose snake)
feeling calm when eyes are hooded/covered (birds of prey)
head bobbing as a threat display (anoles/bearded dragons)
flattening neck or sides to appear bigger (snakes/lizards)
mantling over food to protect it from hatchmates (birds of prey)
wiggling neck as a courting maneuver (budgies)
audibly grinding teeth as a warning (macaques)
maintained eye contact as a challenge (gorillas)
pounding wings against sides as a threat (gorillas)
slapping other dragons with their claws when their personal bubble is invaded (seals)
hoards used as a site to impress mates (birds of paradise)
snorting when undergoing heightened stress (horses)
making repeated loud noises with surroundings to establish territory (woodpeckers)
loud constant arguments with other dragons when roosting (bats)
building lairs that cause a domino effect of change in the land around them (beavers)
slapping their tails against the ground/water as a warning (beavers)
wiggling tail tip to attract prey (various animals)
wiggling tail tip as a warning (snakes)
plucking or scraping off scales as a sign of stress (parrots)
raising spines/frills as a response to danger and carrying on with their usual business as they believe they're protected (lionfish)
and im not saying canine and feline behaviors are wrong or bad to give a dragon (people wouldn't write dragons with those behaviors if they weren't fun in the first place!) but i feel for creatures that are mythological giant winged lizards that you can do more and get experimental with it. often the more unfamiliar behavior the more dragony the dragon feels

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?

this is too complicated, can't we just homebrew 5e
So now that Andor is finished, your girl is hardcore in a Star Wars kind of mood. So let's make some Star Warriors!
We'll start from the beginning.
Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game (West End Games, 1987)
The WEG editions have probably my favourite character creation system of all three versions. We start by picking a character template representing a type of character that you'd expect to see in a Star Wars story. I feel like being a princess so I pick the Arrogant Noble. This gives me a set of dice codes for each of my basic attributes, some equipment, plus background information and roleplaying suggestions. Then I have seven dice to add to various skills associated with those attributes. And… that's really it! After that it's just coming up with a name and various details like height and age. So this is what we end up with:
Arrogant Noble
Character Name Valara Vexen Player Name Vivian Vixen Height 1.76m Weight 90kg Sex F Age 16 Physical Description curvaceous, red of hair, has cool space goggles
DEXTERITY 3D+1 Dodge 4D+1 Melee 4D+1
KNOWLEDGE 3D+1 Cultures 4D+1 Languages 5D+1
MECHANICAL 2D+2
PERCEPTION 4D Command 6D
STRENGTH 2D+2
TECHNICAL 2D
Equipment several changes of clothing in the latest styles, hold-out blaster, dueling sabre, personal landspeeder, 2000 credits standard
Valara is the princess of planet Nevix V, who has joined the Rebel Alliance out of a sense of noblesse oblige, as well as outrage over the destruction of Alderaan. Her favourite cake toppings are whipped blue cream and spaceberry.
Another thing you're supposed to do for character creation is come up with connections between the different characters, which I can't really do because I'm doing this solo. Unless…
Anyone wanna play Star Wars toys with me?

It takes a considerable amount of time for your account registration to actually process, during which the only indication that the website is Doing Something is a vague purple ripple effect on the top of the screen that's really difficult to see against their white or light grey site theming.
just putting this out there, if you like ttrpgs, I highly reccomend getting an account on rpg.net that place is, like, actually good. turns out moderating your website properly means it doesn't turn into a shithole.
