Why do we need to cure depression with pills and injections? I guess I hoped there was some magical cure to my problems, which didn't include trial-and-error of antidepressants and vitamin injections. Now I feel like a bum who can't figure out my problems on my own and instead bothers other people for no reason
Came to my psychiatric appointment to get help with dealing with war stress and almost immediately got an air raid alert. Call that exposure therapy

Chernihiv, Ukraine today after russian attack. At least 14 dead, 61 injured. They know we're out of air defence, so attacks like these are going to happen even more often. Ukraine urgently needs more Patriot systems. Call your representatives!

This is one of the drones russia uses to attack Ukrainian cities, by the name of "shahed". We also call it a "moped" unofficially because of the characteristic rumbling noise it gives off while flying. It is used to target civilian living blocks, infrastructure and power plants. I personally have heard the noise of these drones during air raids in my city. It's haunting to hear one flying outside your windows. It sounds just like a motorcycle, like an old car. People living in more frequently attacked cities say that the sound gets louder as the drone closes in, and then turns silent as it falls towards the building to ensure the worst damage. These are kamikaze drones and russia gets them from Iran, buying those in huge amounts.
The picture was provided by the National Police of Ukraine, while searching for drone debris in Vinnytska oblast (region) after an air raid.

Did you make it out ok
Yes, thank you! The air raid did bring damage though. The biggest electrostation in our region, which produced electricity for almost all cities and towns in the region, was completely destroyed by missile attacks. And many other important infrastructure places were targeted as well. It made me scared to even think that russians can really destroy most of our electricity infrastructure, leaving our country in complete blackouts, unless we get more ammunition for defense systems.
In the evening we went to the city centre to take pictures for a graduation photo album of my sibling, and even though the centre was busy and lively, several central shopping malls had their illumination turned off to save up electricity. It's a smart decision although it does remind you of the fact that there is no escape from the war, no place it doesn't reach. I'm doing my best to keep myself from spiraling in despair but it's hard to do so, when there are so many bad forecasts of our future.

Night time air raid. Kharkiv is being attacked with ballistic missiles, there had been 15 missiles already! It's like russians are trying to destroy the city to the ground along with everyone living there. There has been no electricity for days in the city and in the region, the infrastructure is damaged almost beyond repair.
We're at the shelter as well here in Kyiv because all of Ukraine has had an air raid alert because of the long distance guided missiles. To remind you, these are the ones that can change their trajectory at any time. Part of them are flying through the Kyiv region rn, hopefully everything will be okay. I'm still having my seminars and lessons in the morning though, plus it's the middle of the night, so here is a picture of our dog, mom and me napping on the floor of the subway station.

my... unregular reminder that if you're diaspora and want to connect to ukraine, feel welcomed. don't listen to all the scary cool stories. it's okay if your family spoke/speak russian and you only know/understand it. it's okay if you're not ethnically ukrainian. it's okay if you're not sure about your family history at all

It's also very important to my page, as I am talking about the russian war in Ukraine and rely on people spreading the information I post to more and more people. Especially when most of the people I meet on the internet say that they haven't heard ANYTHING about the war in the past time. The media coverage in foreign countries has gone down, now mostly who cares are Ukrainian people, people in the nearest countries who have felt russian agression and know what comes next after russia gets its way, and very little people who genuinely care about Ukraine, social justice and geopolitics. This is a very small amount of people. Most of my posts get up to 60 notes, 100 notes at best. Almost everytime the amount of likes is twice the amount of reblogs. Then the post dies. It is forgotten and noone interacts with it after just a day. It would be okay if I was talking about fandom posts, vents and just random thoughts, which I have tried to eliminate from my blog to provide as much clear and important information as possible. Nope, the videos and photos of war victims, the information about damaged infrastructure, the posts about the needs of weaponry, air defense systems, basic support are all being forgotten and lost among the other posts on this website. It's a matter of life and death and I wish we could get more reach in order to help effectively.

Kharkiv is under massive shelling every single day. I have a friend who lives there; she's constantly experiencing blackouts caused by these bombings, and she can't study or draw properly. Not to mention, she can be injured or worse.
Please advocate sending military help, especially air defense, to Ukraine. Without it, the chances of her, my other friends, me, my family, and thousands of other Ukrainians getting killed by a freaking russian missile or drone are growing every day.

So, I continue the series of Ukrainian headdresses!
This time I drew an "namitka"💖
This is the traditional headdress of married Ukrainian women. The fabric itself reaches a length of up to 5 meters, and thanks to this lenbgth, Ukrainian women could come up with a lot of new images with it)
There were up to 30 ways to tie them on the head, and each one is charming in its own way❤️
also, I made a video of making this illustration (partially I had to draw it in a bomb shelter, because of russian missile attacks)
you can watch it on my Instagram

Oleksandra Kostetska, widow of a fallen Ukrainian soldier Kostyantyn Miroshnichenko, did a photoshoot with the same photographer who took their pictures as a couple.
"I will show you my new reality. As a widow. Igor Yefimov, you started photographing us as a couple at the beginning of our relationship, now you have taken the end for me. Mirosh [Kostyantyn's military call sign] taught me a lot, now the last lesson is to live without him and remain strong. But it's hard without his warmth/smile/laughter/hugs/bedtime talks, and my favorite, running my fingers across his cheeks and stroking his beard. I love, but now I am not loved".
