It’s been nearly nine years and I still don’t understand why Anna had to be absolutely locked inside the palace.
Like, think about it. Elsa can’t control her powers, so the solution is to lock the palace and isolate both their daughters until Elsa can control her powers? Did they not care about how Anna felt at all? How was that even supposed to help Elsa? I’m certain that King and Queen I-don’t-remember-their-names meant well, but this was the worst response to Elsa’s powers. And this isn’t blaming Elsa either! She was a scared child who was isolated, a situation that was not helped by her parents at all.
Grand Pabby told them “fear will be your enemy” and the answer was apparently “lock down the palace until she’s not fearful and can control her powers.” Logic is broken here, apparently. And when they seemed to believe that Elsa could control her powers with the gloves, why wasn’t the castle opened again? Did no one care about Anna’s feelings this whole time?
Come to think of it, how did the King and Queen even speak to their people? Did they leave the castle and go into the kingdom to speak to them? Why couldn’t they bring Anna along on those little trips? There is so much nonsense here.

not to be the too woke friend but sometimes it feels like yall just say "aroace people can still date" as an excuse to ship aroace characters without addressing how their romanticism and sexuality might actually play into said relationship. why do you want them to date so badly Hm

Today's random gripe of the day: just because a character is the titular character of a piece, that does not mean they're automatically the protagonist.
Sure, Aurora might be the titular character of Sleeping Beauty, but she isn't the protagonist. The Three Good Fairies are the protagonists, driving the main plot and making all the important decisions. Aurora's curse is just the central conflict.
In The Great Gatsby, just because Gatsby's the guy in the name doesn't mean he's the protagonist, because no, that's Nick Caraway. Nick is the protagonist and the POV character. Gatsby might be intrinsic to the plot, but he's not the main character.
In The Snow Queen, the actual Snow Queen really just... barely appears. The protagonist is Gerda, journeying to retrieve her friend from the Snow Queen's clutches.
There's a hundred other examples but these are the three I see the most (thanks to the Broadway TGG musical first version and Frozen, respectively. Probably.)

Spencer making Carly promise she’ll stay safe going out on a window washer’s platform, and then running off to make a giant slingshot to shoot watermelons at some jerks who stole his boat is absolutely the Big Sibling representation we deserve.

'I asked chat GPT-'
oh did you? You asked something that steals shit to lie to you about a subject? And you just tell me this like I care to know what it said? Like I wanted to know its opinion? I regularly ask my cat Cheesey Gordita Crunch about many subjects and I think I trust his judgement more than whatever bullshit ur shitty algorithm spat out

The saying that Asha is a "Don't need no man Girlboss" is funny to me because she's not exactly girlboss material. She's clumsy, quirky, comedic yet hopeful and determined. She doesn't even fight Magnifico one on one like what girlbosses are perceived to do.
"Girlboss" just seems like a misused term to describe main female leads having more agency and lack of a (male) love interest.
If anything, she's a girl failure who we all root for.

I feel like some of you guys think "bad art" is like someone gluing rhinestones to a water melon, or a guy who made his own armchair out of Ohio license plates, or a trashy romance novel where someone says "the blue-eyed one kissed the brown-eyed one," when in reality bad art is a 1000000 Billion Dollar movie where none of the workers got paid and every single creative decision was market tested to see how lucrative of a profit it could foreseeably make to wow shareholders.

After Magnifico's defeat, the people of Rosas begins to take down all the art, banners, and statuary of him. While it's a no-brainer to replace most of the images with Queen Amaya, for one piece in particular, they decide that they want to honor Asha and Star.
Tumblr media
Unlike Magnifico, Asha wants to be remembered for who she was long before she ever started helping people pursue their wishes. So unlike Magnifico's artwork that showed a larger-than-life godlike king receiving wishes (and power) from the people, Asha's portrait reminds them all that the power of a wish is inside each and every single one of them, so long as they pursue it.
Sometimes, the reflecting pool in front of the mural shows a memory of Asha and Tomas at their wishing tree. So the people of Rosas will remember him, too. :)
