He leaned his head down, his lips touching the back of her ear. “You’re real cute when you’re flustered,” he intoned. His voice was low and breathy. He knew that it would drive her wild.

Orson wasn’t typically the grand romantic type. Hollis was the person who brought out a more amorous side of him. He had lied a little to her. Said he couldn’t come to this conference with her. Instead he had decided to surprise her. She hadn’t seen him yet. She looked lovely, a little more rotund with her hand on her bump. Of course she hadn’t given up form fitting clothes. Not that he was complaining. He decided to stand off to the side, waiting for her to notice him.

Orson stayed wryly stoic. He’d gotten better and better at this. Of course, she was irresistible and he always made sure to give in before she combusted. “Absolutely. I’d make it my career if I could.” His voice was frustratingly nonchalant. It was always a testament to his willpower.

Orson shrugged nonchalantly. “Oh, I get more than just off torturing you,” he replied. It was one of the greatest pleasures in his life. Now he could do it from here until death. “Not to mention it’s my favorite hobby.” His ability to keep his cool in most situations had been hard won, but this was his favorite way to employ those skills.

He resisted her just a little bit, playfully of course. “Can’t rush the moment, darling. You’re supposed to be relaxing.” She’d get mouthy in a bit, and that was what he lived for. Her being demanding was insanely attractive.

He cocked an eyebrow at her, making a great show of it all. It was part of the song and dance and he wasn’t dismayed it went exactly where he thought it was. A chuckle escaped his throat. “Why am I not shocked?” he asked as he brushed his fingers across her inner thighs, tickling them lightly.

He looked down at his wife. Amusement was an apt word to describe his expression in the moment. He groaned a bit emphatically. It was a deep and deeply sarcastic noise. “Well, since you’re far too exhausted for any sort of fun, I suppose I would have to take care of it all myself,” he mused aloud.

Her wiggling didn’t shock him one bit. She’d been doing that since they were teenagers, often in inopportune places. It was mildly infuriating in public, but it was completely welcome now. “If you don’t stop that moving,” he teased.

“I’ve got to be a bit dramatic. You know that.” He had a flare for melodrama when it came to doting on her. Surprises and actually making an effort we’re important. He couldn’t remember his father ever being this caring with his mother. Orson had made a pact with himself not to be that sort of husband. “I have no idea, but I am sure that it does. You’re making a person from scratch.”

Orson leaned his cheek against the top of Hollis’s head. “I disagree,” he mumbled, starting to feel more content by the second. “I’m good at spoiling you and you will allow me to do that,” he continued. He put an arm around her, pulling her even closer to him.

Orson worried more often than not about her in this state. The stress was going to give him more gray hairs. He worried about her a lot period. To an extent, he was terrified karmic retribution would come for him, so her pregnancy had exacerbated those worries. He helped her settle into the tub, making sure she was well-supported.

Orson would do as he’s told. He went about stripping down, making sure to do it as quickly as possible without seeming frantic. He didn’t want to make her wait after all. He submerged himself in the warm water. Making sure it wasn’t too hot has been a chore, but he has perfected it. Holding out his hands, he beckoned her to join him.

“Well, I think that’s what I am supposed to do, but I can’t be too sure,” he joked. A lot of the men at the bank hated their wives and that never did sit right with him. Orson pulled her close. “I guess I should get in first.”

Pregnancy looked good on her. That was easy for him to admit. Fatherhood still terrified him, but he was elated that she was happy. He went about fixing up the bathroom with candles and bath bombs and what have you. He was meticulous about it all and ended up creating what might be the world’s most glorious fire hazard. He played some soft classical music on a speaker to add to the ambiance. He stood back to look at his work, satisfied, and then called Hollis in.

What could she say other than she was stupidly in love with this man. That made her a bit insatiable too. It wasn’t all sex all the time, but at the very least she wanted to be with him more often than she didn’t. She’d been in love before but this kind of made all the others pale in comparison. Sorry to those men, she thought as she ran her tongue across his length. She ran one hand up his thighs, coming to let it rest on one of his cheeks. Her other hand wrapped around him, starting to slowly stroke as her tongue came to trace along the slit of his head.

Lavinia didn’t want to be around for her sister’s birthday, so she was going to celebrate it elsewhere. Elsewhere being the coast in a lighthouse with Rohan, but her sister didn’t need to know the finer details. With a straight face Lavinia had told her it was a work trip and could not be rescheduled and she was sorry she would miss her birthday. As a consolation she sent her sister a bottle of expensive white wine and some of the tackiest Rae Dunn items she could find. She was looking forward to some alone time and some drama circumvented. “Do you think Roisin finally punched Luci tonight and I missed it?” she teased when they finally got to the lighthouse. To be fair, she would take missing that for being here instead.

Orson loved the feel of her body leaning against his. His relationship with her was the deepest emotional intimacy that he had ever known. “I can consent to that,” he said, popping a soft kiss on the crown of her head. “Just lie down and I will call you in in a bit. I’ve got to prepare it all for you.” He kept rubbing her shoulders, hoping he was helping with her stress level.

Orson didn’t know how Hollis wore heels like that, much less while pregnant. It was a mystery. “Would yo u like me to draw you a bath?” he asked. He put his hands on her shoulders, rubbing them gently. He’d stocked up on bath bombs and candles for her. Her relaxation at this point was crucial.

“Well, I am very enthusiastic,” she said, looking up at him wryly:. She pressed a kiss to his cheek. Naturally, she had an idea. It was one she didn’t think he would argue with. “While you’re figuring it all out, I have a little idea to keep you occupied for the time being.” She winked before slowly descending to her knees. She traced the curve of his hipbone with her fingernail before leaning in and kissing it.
