Yeah, we're getting a live action movie, apparently. It was JUST announced, so we know almost nothing about it except that it's happening, lol.

So how is everyone feeling about the live action Ninjago movie being a thing?

I am absolutely GIDDY that this is going to be a thing. This is something I’ve been wanting since 2014 when I binged the Pilots through Rebooted for the first time. Granted, I do think the film industry has become way too obsessed with live action remakes, to the point that there's not a lot of thrill to it any more. But for 12yo me's sake, I’m crossing my fingers just PRAYING this one will actually be good. I personally think Lego has done a phenomenal job with their shows the last few years; the stories are incredibly well-crafted, with beautiful themes and engaging, well-rounded, thoughtful characters. I have tentatively high hopes that they can pull this off tastefully.

So how is everyone feeling about the live action Ninjago movie being a thing?

So, how exactly does Arti Royally Screw up the Never Realm? Are the Villagers swallowed up into ink puddles? Ink Zombified?

Welllll.

She kind of ‘paints over’ All Of It. The original Never Realm is still under layers and layers of ink, but the place the ninja find sure isn’t it. It’s basically a completely new world, with all sorts of environments.

Nobody’s hurt by it- unless they get stuck between or even under the ‘surface’

So I'll be honest, I am SO curious about Silver & Solution because I think Movieverse isekai's have even more potential for shenanigans than Showverse isekai's BUT I realized I also have no idea what the Salt & Venom offshoot is about, so could we get a synopsis of that actually??

ok so basically;

Less basically; Instead of Frosted Glass happening at all, something (arguably?) worse occurs.

Arti, as the seasons go on, gets increasingly worried about the likelihood of she and Lily being sent home. She doesn’t KNOW it’s going to be during the merge, she doesn’t know when it will happen. But not knowing- and dwelling on what might happen when they get back- is enough motivation for Arti to do some unwise things, in seeking a way for her to stay in ninjago and for Lily to be able to go home.

So she releases Aspheera!

And she makes a deal.

She helps Aspheera with her Revenge, Aspheera finds a way to send Lily home (if she can blast people across realms AND into the past, I feel like she could figure universal travel out. Also it’s not like arti is thinking logically here.)

Stuff Ensues, Aspheera attacks the monastery and Arti, actually coming to her senses, decides to fight back.

Which ends with her blasted into the Never-Realm, with the other Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu.

Even with her memories intact and Vex most definitely out of the picture, Arti’s not immune to the scroll’s influence. And even less immune to her OWN thoughts. . .

So basically; Ink Chapter :]

She also messes up the never realm so much more than Zane ever did or could.

Power Swap - Part 1: Don’t Touch The Unknown Magical Artifacts

In which a somewhat routine mission to stop some vengestone smuggling goes. . . a bit chaotic.

 “Okay, this has got to be the last vengestone shipment, because this is getting ridiculous!”

Jay’s exclamation lined up with what everyone else was thinking. Ever since they’d taken down Vangelis, more and more shipments carrying vengestone out of Shintaro had appeared all over Ninjago. 

“We did probably scare the guy into sending out whatever he had left,” Arti noted, approaching the now-driverless truck. 

“Where are these guys going, anyway? Who needs this much vengestone?” Nya asked, joining the group after. “What, are they trying to build an army?”

It was meant as a joke, but Lily smiled in a way the rest of the group knew far too well. “Yes, actually!”

“. . . You’re kidding me,” Cole said, hoping it was a joke.

“She’s not.” Arti sighed. “We will cross that bridge when we come to it. Which is not today.”

“Are you sure?” Lloyd asked. “Because a vengestone army sounds important.”

“Yeah, we’ve got time.” Arti shrugged. “Right now, dealing with these trucks full of vengestone is good enough.” She glanced at Lily. “That’s good, right? We’re good for now?”

“Yeah, there’s still like a year-long gap before it actually becomes pressing,” Lily replied.

“See, we’ve got plenty of time,” Arti said with a slight smile, “so let’s make sure everything’s good here, and go home!”

It’d become routine to check to make sure there was actually vengestone in the vehicle before taking it away. After a small mix up a few weeks ago at least, it’d been enforced. 

It was a good thing too . . . as some unidentifiable crystal formations were growing across the gold cracks of the stone, clear and almost prism-like . . . and definitely not normal. 

“That’s new,” Kai noted. “I don’t remember seeing anything like that in Shintaro.”

“We were not in Shintaro’s mines for very long,” Zane commented. “Though even I don’t know what this is.” 

“Yeah, that’s definitely not vengestone related . . . Now, if the crystals were PURPLE, then maybe, but these—never mind. Yeah, this is new.”

“. . . And now I’m worried,” Arti said, taking a small step backwards, “If Lily doesn’t know what these are, then that really doesn’t bode well—”

“I mean, it does look kinda familiar, but it’s not related to the vengestone,” Lily continued. “I just can’t place it right now.”

“What should we do with it?” Lloyd turned to Lily, “We could take it back to the Monastery with the vengestone.”

“Yeah, but we still don’t know what it is.” Arti interjected, “The last time we dealt with something me and Lily didn’t know about, it was bad!”

“We could bring it back to test and analyze or something? Just in case?” Cole suggested. 

“That. . . works.” Arti said with a slight sigh of relief. 

“. . . Hold on, are the crystals glowing? They weren’t glowing before, right?” Jay pointed out, causing everyone’s attention to quickly shift. 

Sure enough, the clear crystals had begun to glow at a steady pace. Pulsing, almost like a heartbeat, growing brighter and brighter. 

“. . . Okay, that’s probably not good, everyone, GET AWAY—” Lily started, taking a startled step back before turning to run. The rest of the team quickly went to follow her lead, trying to scatter . . .

Before a brilliant, almost blinding light exploded from the crystals, sending them flying to the ground and knocking them all unconscious. 

“Lloyd, are you alright?!”

Lloyd groaned, trying to push away whoever was trying to shake him awake as he finally came to. Whatever that flash was had hit him hard . . . what was that, even . . . ?

It took him a moment to regain his bearings enough to get up, rubbing his head as he tried to blink the spots out of his eyes. As the world came into focus, he realized it was Lily who had been trying to wake him up, the redhead sitting next to him with a look of concern that was melting into relief. 

“Oh, thank goodness, you’re up!” she exclaimed, letting out an exhale. “I was worried about you, bro—you good?”

“Yeah, I’m good—” Lloyd started, before pausing as what Lily had just said hit him. “Wait . . . ‘bro’? Since when did—”

“Okay, everyone’s up, can we go home now?” Arti piped up from nearby, cutting him off. “I want to figure out what those crystals are—even if they’re smashed to pieces.”

 Glancing down, Lloyd found the ground was noise littered in broken shards of the crystals, the pieces now stained in different colors instead of being clear like before. 

. . . Except for the shards around him, which were still mostly colorless and failing to retain a faint green glow.

That was somewhat ominous.

“Kai, Nya,” Zane—a very human looking Zane, which raised questions, when had he cloaked himself?—turned to the two, “are you sure you don’t know what that was?”

“Yeah, no, I’m . . . pretty sure I’d remember something like that happening,” Nya replied, crossing her arms. 

. . . And now Lloyd was confused. Why ask Kai and Nya? They weren’t the ones with future knowledge, that was Arti and Lily—

“Are you sure you’re alright, bro?” Speaking of Lily, she was looking concerned again. “It doesn’t usually take you this long to recover—”

“I’ll be honest, now I’m not so sure.” He shook his head. “Are you guys feeling alright?”

“I’m not!” Jay shouted. “I can’t move!”

“Yes, you can,” Cole replied, “I fixed that the lasttime you got stuck after being knocked down.”

. . . Okay, seriously, what. None of this made anysense, and Lloyd wondered if he wasn’t actually awake yet and was having some sort of dream. Couldyou dream when you’re knocked unconscious?

“Jay, please try to get up, because if you can and you’re just being dramatic right now, I will slap you. Titanium be darned.” Lily shot an unamused glare at the ninja in question.

“You’re going to hurt yourself if you do that,” Zane pointed out, as if Lily’s statement was perfectly normal. 

“So? I’ve done it before, and by golly I’ll do it again,” she replied.

“Guys, what are all of you talking about?!” Lloyd finally exclaimed, drawing the rest of the team’s attention. “None of you are making any sense!”

“. . . Lloyd? Are you okay?” Arti asked. “Because you’ve been kind of off since you woke up.”

“No, at this point I’m pretty sure I’m not!” He couldn’t keep himself from yelling as he spoke. “Either I’ve gone crazy, or you guys have—I feel like I’m losing my mind!”

Arti, Lily, and Nya shared a concerned look, while Jay, who was helped up by Zane and Cole, glanced at him and shrugged after a moment. “I mean, you’re physically fine. I have no idea what’s going through your head, though.”

“And—that’s exactly it, why are you all acting so weird?! Lily’s calling me ‘bro’, Kai and Nya are suddenly the show experts, Zane is cloaked for some reason, and you’re all acting like Jay’s a nindroid! So what is going on?!”

Okay, now everyone was concerned.

“. . . But Jay is a nindroid?” Cole said, raising an eyebrow before turning to the others and pointing at Lloyd. “Are we sure he didn’t hit his head, guys?”

“Yes, I’m sure, I just scanned him.” Jay rolled his eyes. 

“So something is defi—hey guys wait when did my clothes change?” Lily looked down at herself in confusion, inspecting the sleeves of her gi. Sleeves that Lloyd now noticed were suddenly decorated with swirls of red, like flames. “Why am I in the wrong color?”

“You kind of rock orange, though.” Arti said. The right sleeve and left leg of her gi now had a vibrant electric blue added to it with jagged, electrical edges to the coloring.

“Well, yeah, but this looks like it was originallyorange,” Lily replied with a frown. “If that makes sense. Does that make sense?”

Lloyd couldn’t even say anything at this point. Everything felt upside-down, and he had no idea if it was him or everyone else that was wrong here. Nothing the others were saying made sense with what he knew. 

“I think we can figure this out when we’re back home,” Cole interrupted. His gi had a cyan pattern of waves over his chest and shoulders, and his scar was missing.

“Yeah, good idea,” Nya began, then stopped. “. . . Hold on, where’s Kai?”

The red ninja, whose sleeves had been visibly splattered with navy blue, was standing off to the side, deep in concentration as he tried to do . . . something. Lloyd couldn’t tell what.

“. . . What are you doing?” Nya strode over, raising an eyebrow at whatever Kai was trying to do.

A small puddle of ink had formed close to Kai’s feet, and similar liquid stained his hands like how Arti’susually got after using her powers for a while. 

Things were slowly starting to click into place, and Lloyd wasn’t sure if he liked the implications.

“My powers aren’t working!” Kai responded in frustration, glaring down at the puddle. “I can’t keep a hold of the ink, and I don’t know why!”

“That’s. . .” Nya shook her head, “That should be impossible, right? I can’t think of anything that would make that happen.”

Lily seemed to have a moment of realization. “Maybe that’s what the crystals did, mess with our powers! Let me check—” She did a small flourish, and a flameappeared in the palm of her hand, only further confirming what Lloyd had begun to figure out. “. . . No, fire’s still working, maybe Kai’s just having a bad day.”

“At least you didn’t get your powers taken . . . again,” Arti commented, snapping her fingers a bit. Blue sparks of static flew, before exploding outwards. “. . . I’m uh, mostly good!”

“Our powers all swapped . . .” Lloyd whispered to himself, glancing down at the colorful shards of crystal again. “And probably more than just that.”

“What was that, Lloyd?” Lily turned to face him, still with fire in her hand.

“Nothing,” he quickly replied, shaking his head. “Just . . . trying to sort things out in my head.”

“Alright, just . . . let us know if you feel better, bro.” She gave him a warm smile, before closing her hand and extinguishing the flames. “Well, we ready to head back? Should probably grab the, you know, broken crystal stuff and bring it back with the vengestone.”

“Yeah, let’s get going.” Cole nodded, starting to pick up a couple of the crystal shards. . . The rest of the group followed suit, with Arti shooting another concerned glance at Lloyd.

Lloyd returned her look with a somewhat forced smile, which she seemed to accept—as she went back to picking up a few more crystal shards.

Something happened to . . . everyone. And for some reason, Lloyd was the only person who wasn’t affected, the only person who knew something was very, very wrong.

This crystal had something to do with it, and, hopefully it was the key to fixing it too.
