some of my first concept sketches of beethoven and their relationship with the mad dogs!! (don't mind how wonky the sibs look, i drew these before i figured out how to draw them)

Bee was draxum’s first successful mutant warrior creation. however, he didn’t see them as such; they were never meant to be the finished product (their original name was Beta, still B for short. Mikey did not like this).

Draxum kidnapped a singer at a club and used her DNA, not particularly caring which human he used at this stage. he was more worried about making the scientific process work before he perfected it. he was able to mutate Bee fully, unlike the rise turtles, and therefore managed to make her with the full amount of physical prowess he’d intended with the boys. she also came out of her mutation chamber at the maturity level of a five year old, skipping over the steps where draxum would have to take care of an actual baby.

they were immediately a disciplined, well-trained warrior, though they carried the same love and empathy their DNA donor had. however, it possessed one major “flaw,” by draxum’s standards: all of its mystic abilities, emanating from the power of their voice, were support only.

they had incredible power, sure. every support ability under the sun was in their arsenal, and they were incredibly talented at combative techniques of all kinds. but they weren’t perfect, and they were far too kind to be a warrior. it was only a matter of time before draxum moved on to a new project, but it never stopped bee from wanting their father’s? mentor’s?? instructor’s love approval.

draxum was more than happy to use this desire for respect to his advantage, forcing them to train much harder than any living being should every single day. he pushed them constantly to try to manifest a mystic attack rather than just enhancements, and they kept pushing even when it burned all the way down into their lungs, because they had to make him proud.

one day, it became too much.

at around three years old (eight including their rampant maturity), draxum had them training as usual. when it began to burn more than normal, they begged and pleaded with him to stop the training, even while using their powers. draxum kept pushing, kept insisting, claiming he could see them just about to do it.

finally, she screamed at him to stop.

when they woke up, the lab was a mess, and draxum was twenty feet away, prone on the floor.

bee nursed him back to health the next day. she cared for him in his unconsciousness, and when he finally did wake up, he was clearly concussed. she sang quietly to him as he recovered, and quickly realized she could no longer make sound without using her powers.

therefore, the same night it clicked, she ran away, sure her new defect would be disappointing to him. she preferred to escape before she could hear it from him directly.

later, post movie, it discovers the new turtles through the news and goes searching for them. the boys are pretty freaked the hell out, but mikey (ofc) immediately is like NEW BIG SIBLING. it's weird for raph for a bit, but he quickly ends up kinda secretly loving being a little brother (bee does NOT let him take on more stress than necessary). they become a valuable part of the family.

then, they meet draxum again.

it speaks for the first time in front of the family, leading to a 7v1 mystic fight of all the MC against bee in a desperate, regressive state, leading to them all calming her down into normal amounts of hysterics.

draxum explains how he was never disappointed in them. he got harsher as they got older, because it scared him how much he was beginning to care about what was originally supposed to be a weapon. he couldn't afford to prioritize his feelings over what he thought would be the safety of yokai kind. the day she left was the worst day of his life, and he'd been in a depressive spiral for weeks before he could even think of trying again.

it's a really sweet emotional scene where draxum says he's proud of who she becomes and she calls him dad and everything. very wonderful, very heartwarming.
