People have the right to be very angry and upset today, tomorrow, and the foreseeable future. But we must work towards a second Reconstruction. Remember: fuckface won by a point and a half with 49% of the vote, and Republicans won the House and Senate narrowly, as well. It's infuriating how preventable it all was, if only a handful of votes had gone differently, but that's the point. They never had a mandate, and now they're hurting so many people that no one will be able to ignore it. I know Trump 1.0 should've been enough for them to never vote for him again, I know, I know. But even a little of their 2024 collation swinging to Democrats or simply not voting for Republicans at all will make a difference in the midterms and 2028. The Senate seat in North Carolina is now in play, and Susan Collins in Maine is vulnerable, too. The GOP barely has control over the House as it is.

We flipped the House in 2018 and White House and Senate in 2020, and Trump and the GOP caused far less harm to the everyday person back then than they have over the past 6 months alone, let alone what's about to happen with the passing of this nightmare bill. Trump's been polling underwater for months. He was at his political height in November 2024, and has lost ground since then as the average idiot with the memory of a goldfish remembered that oh, yeah, Trump is actually a terrible president. We have to make the GOP pay for this, and take back power so that Democrats can restore Medicaid and SNAP funding, and slash ICE's funding. It's the only way forward. This era will end. They will be in the minority and out of the White House again. We will begin to pick up the pieces if we win in 2028, and we can stop the bleeding with the midterms in 16 months.

(Note for the "I can't read" crowd: I'm not saying people won't suffer. I'm saying all this will not be permanent if we take power back.)
