Core: Ren is pretty much "what you see is what you get" by the time he's in Halcyon. He will hide some of his insecurities about his role in saving the colony. He doesn't like looking vulnerable in front of his crew.

But, yeah he doesn't have ulterior motives that he's keeping to himself, or some big secret he's keeping from the crew. He IS vague about his past, being from Earth, for his own protection at first, and then out of habit, so he does SEEM like he has some big secret, but really if they ever asked, Ren would probably tell them. (Maybe not Max at first, but only bc Ren is kinda petty, too)

Origin Story: Ren was created for my second play through of TOW! The first one I did as Ash (my other bby boy) and then had so much fun i wanted to create a new character just for TOW. But now i'm obsessed with him so Ren Hawthorne has kinda just become a separate OC and the tow version of Ren feels more like an AU ( @the-lastcall sound familiar 🥴)

Plot: In the TOW canon, same way as any main character would lol, I have him completely against the Board the whole time, pretty much as soon as he sets foot in Edgewater (he also falls for Phineas p quick so. U know LOL) I like to give him, Phineas, and Hiram a happy ending to their story (if i ever wrote it all anyway LOL)

(I also have an original story im working on where Ren is much younger and inadvertently ends up setting off a chain of very spooky events in a small desert town that's inhabited but some equally spooky folks 👀)

Calvin can read people incredibly easily, they always have been good at understanding what people need. They're great at comforting folks this way, whether it's a mug of hot cocoa and an ear to vent to or something a little more.. spicy, Calvin's got you covered.

Calvin's sort got the fake it til you make it mentality about their looks. THEY don't really get it, they don't think they're anything special, but they also know how to charm people easily, so they still do use it to their advantage.

Calvin is kinda a slut (affectionate). As someone who is seemingly immortal, Calvin's never really been interested in settling down with one person. They've never wanted to have to watch their person grow old, and eventually die without being able to do anything to stop it. (What are they to do when the object of their affection is ALSO immortal tho 😏)

However, in terms of hooking up and fwb situations, Calvin's allllll over that. They like to make people feel good. The Satanic Church loves their sex magic, too, and Calvin's nothing if not devout to their religion 😘

💦 : Is your OC’s attractiveness based on looks or a more intangible aura?

Aura. Calvin's not like, UNattractive, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, but they don't do themselves any favors by completely ignoring whatever standard of beauty is in at the time and dressing themself like a toddler picking random clothes from their dresser.

But Calvin knows how to talk to a crowd, they're a preacher after all, and good at what they do. They've always been a charming individual, but having the power of Satan on their side now doesn't hurt

Not their mustache.

Calvin would probably say their dark green eyes, it's what of the few things that Calvin's always liked about themselves.

However, I did give them fangs 100% for horny reasons so those are a contender as well 😌

Fun fact about Ren's scar, he tells people he got it in a bar fight, which is technically true. He was at a bar. and there was a fight. He was not part of it, though, someone ducked out of the way as another person threw a broken bottle. It hit Ren instead.

The reason it scarred so much is because he didn't let Johnny take him to get stitches until almost a day and a half later. Ren doesn't like hospitals.

“Are you jealous of Dew?” Ren whispered. He wanted to blow past the awkward beating about the bush but he also knew he would lose his own confidence quickly.

Terzo froze, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. He stared down at Ren for what felt like ages, but was in reality only a few seconds and then cleared his throat.

“I… have no right to be.”

“But you are? Is that why you've been so weird lately?” Ren asked, trying not to sound accusatory.

Terzo basically threw himself in his chair and looked anywhere but at Ren, “I do not know what you want me to say? I missed you while I was gone, but it's not fair for me to put that on you. Especially if you are clearly interested in someone else.”

Ren stared at Terzo and let a smile creep onto his face.
