Zephyr Gryphon - A dogfolk man living his free life in an apartment shared with Rena and Bron. Enjoys his time with friends and is a generally a friendly guy Rena Le - A sharkfolk woman living her busy life in an apartment shared with Zephyr and Bron. Has her life sorted out despite the lack of a shark fin, wise and calm. Bron Taljei - A bearfolk man living his bit rough life in an apartment shared with Rena and Zephyr. Seems to be an outgoing guy but he is usually stressed by work. Arthur Razilias - A human man raising a dogfolk son Raphael with his free spirted wife Elizabeth. Straight to the point and stubborn, sees the world for what it is. Elizabeth Bronson - A human woman raising a dogfolk son Raphael with her stubborn husband Arthur. Yeah so um I decided to make an oc ask meme based around angst. Some of these I came up with myself, others are from other ask memes and I just picked the angsty ones so here goes:

1. What’s one experience your character had that made them very afraid?

Anyone remotely interested in my story writing, I have some news. I’ll be trying to weekly post in this blog about the world of Tail of Zephyr, and I am open to plenty of asks about the world or you can ask characters questions.

Brawn - Apology

Brawn: uh... This is a bit awkward to say but if you know me, you know what I have been doing. I want to apologise for that, for worrying you all. For those who don’t know, I am nowadays a bartender at End of the Bottle. I am a bearfolk, which also strangely makes my hair turn white faster with stress, even more fast compared to humans. Brawn: I bring this up because I have been working hard, for quite a while. People started noticing it was affecting me a bit. Some personal issues came up, and that affected me too. My pride was too strong, so I pretended everything was okay but it really wasn’t. They could see my back hair was turning white more and more, I was getting visibily tired. Every time I got home I was out of energy and low on energy the next morning. Brawn: I tried putting help off, I tried to do things myself. It obviously wasn’t healthy and I pretended not to care. It was a matter of pride, believing I had to be strong enough for this. But some good news, I’m healing. My hair is going back to being dark brown and things seem to be settling down for me. Brawn: I apologise if you happen to be one of the people who noticed me like this. I apologise for having to see me in this state, for having to deal with me in this state of mine. I can’t make promises that I won’t do this again, but I do realise I have my own limits and that people don’t want me forcing myself beyond the breaking point. Brawn: I’ll be fine. If you were concerned, thank you. If you are concerned now, again, thank you. Zephyr and Rena are keeping tabs on me now, they are making sure I do take care of myself. Don’t know what I’d do without the people in my life.

Snakefolk

Arthur: okay @simplecorn, you want to learn about snakefolk, good. The world would be a better place if we would try to learn about eachother. Learn our differences, learn about how we can adapt and accomodate eachother, on both ends. Arthur: I’ll talk about their beast god first, Schaalvun (Skallvoon). It is the god that blesses people with reptilian folk. Snakes, Crocodiles, Lizards and others that I can’t seem to think of at of my head. It takes the form of whatever makes the person it appears to more comfortable. Sometimes a scaly woman, a scaly man or a reptile, as long as it carries a reptile theme. Schaalvun apparently tells people how to work their way through our world, which is nice. Arthur: Snakefolk on the outside seem to be able to fit in with society quite okay, as they don’t have any noticeable traits on them like tails or hairy ears. But instead, they have coloured scales on their bellies. Some folk find these to be fashionable, wanting to keep them clean or shiny. Those scales do have to shed through with age and growth unlike the rest of their human skin. Arthur: They have no venom yet possess a pair of retractable fangs in their mouths. Their mouths have flaps in them, to keep their fangs “holstered”. If they have to, they can bite and the wound doesn’t heal easy. Their saliva does something, kinda stops wounds from being able to close. This is a strong reason they some prefer to not be known as snakefolk, people have wanted their saliva before for weapons. Arthur: A downside, Their vision is a bit poor, you will notice almost all snakefolk wear glasses or contacts. Not blind, but their vision always has some kind of blur, either being near or far sighted. They also have a bit of a delicate tongue, not forked. They can taste the air, as a back up sense for if their eyes fail them. Arthur: All folk of any kind will have some personality aspect altered or enhanced by their beast side. For snakefolk, they tend to observe people and things around them and can be socially cunning. I say CAN BE because it is entirely up to the person themselves to choose to enhance or ignore that aspect of their personality. Some snakefolk can expertly talk their way in and our of situations. Arthur: An introverted snake folk wouldn’t seem introverted, they would be able to slide in and out of social gatherings without people noticing or being worried. A business savvy one can turn clients to their side with the right words. My point is, they can have a silver tongue if they embrace it or they can just happily live their lives as the people they are. Arthur: Thank you very much for asking, and wanting to learn more about folk.

Beastfolk, A history lesson

Arthur: We’ll speak here. Zephyr didn’t do his research into his own kind, being told to “roll with it” for most of his life. So around the 1900′s, starting in Ireland. People recall having dreams of a strange beast visiting them. Arthur: Its confirmed, this thing was a god called Luphineus. Luphineus visited planned parents in their dreams and gave them a blessing, that their children would be part canine beast. Luphineus blessed various people, so other bestial gods begun to bless people. This did not make us humans happy then, and it was encouraged that we decline these gods offers. Elizabeth: Humans called the children beastfolk, and the blessing the beast gods were offering was renamed a curse. Humans treated the beastfolk like outcasts for a while, and yet they didn’t fight back. Beastfolk seemed to just want to be treated like humans, they were raised by humans. As time passed, scientists still try to study beastfolk. Elizabeth: Beastfolk birthrate was confirmed to be more likely and more safer than a humans, so that was a good side to this “Curse”. But Society still calls it a curse, and while beastfolk do walk among us, they are still discouraged and still sadly seen as a lesser species in the public eye. As parents of a beastfolk child, we hope our son will one day be given the treatment they deserve.

They will knock you down, they will leave you breathless. You will meet sunrises, you will meet gardens. They will give you light, they will take you on adventures. Explore them. Get lost with them. They all have something to teach you.

G’day, Zephyr here

G’day, I’m Zephyr, Zephyrus Ventus-dei Gryphon I’m a 20 year old dog beastfolk, siberian husky to be exact. I’d thought I’d begin to talk with some advice. I went to a party once, I didn’t know it was strange to compliment someones breath and they didn’t know I had sensitive hearing. It was a disaster. Next time those people invited me to a party, we had learned more about eachother through our experiences. I didn’t compliment their breaths, they were cool about my ears and tail, and they let me know when they were going to make loud noises. To reach a full understanding, both groups of people need to try to understand eachother, that seems to be the key to a better world for everyone.
