Phuket - 🇹🇭 Thailand Phuket (pronounced poo-ket) is Thailand’s largest island, lying off the west coast in the Adaman Sea. The island is highly mountainous, mostly covered in rainforest, and has numerous incredible beaches. The west coast beaches are more sandy than those on the east, giving the perfect opportunity to catch the most amazing sandy sunsets! Watching it surrounded by palm trees and clear warm waters is a true tropical paradise. Other than beaches, the island offers fantastic nightlife at Patong Beach, incredible sightseeing around the local Phi Phi islands, and for the adventurous you can even go white water rafting or quading in the rainforest just over the bridge to the mainland! Fun fact: Phuket is home to the famous “James Bond Island”, or Khao Phing Kan. It was featured in the 1974 James Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun”, hence the nickname, and is now one of Thailand top tourist destinations. #phuket #thailand #phuketthailand #clouds #island #islandlife #tropical #sunset #imonaboat #paradise #oceanview #vacationmode #sky #relax #relaxing #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Phuket, Thailand) https://www.instagram.com/p/B71H3i0Awkp/?igshid=1lhhed6t8w8qf

Great Orme - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wales The Great Orme is a limestone headland on the north coast of Wales, near the town of Llandudno. On the other side of the town lies the smaller headland, the Little Orme. To get to the top, you could drive, take the tram or even the cable car, but just remember, it can get extremely windy up there! There are several attractions to keep you entertained, though the most impressive thing of all is the incredible views. On a clear day you can see as far as the Isle of Man or to the Lake District in England. On a gloomier day, the views are just as amazing, with all the headlands and bays along the coast to admire. Fun fact: The Great Orme has its name origins from a Norse word for sea serpent, most likely due to its shape! #greatorme #llandudno #northwales #wales #cymru #uk #headland #coast #coastal #moodynature #sea #sunset #clouds #discovercymru #visitwales #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Great Orme, North Wales) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7dq52kAmAs/?igshid=f0k3d4sp8itk

Three Gorges Dam - 🇨🇳 China The Three Gorges Dam is the worlds largest power station in the world, in terms of installed capacity. It spans the Yangtze River, Asia’s longest river, and the worlds third longest. At 2,355 meters long with a maximum height of 185 meters, it contains 28 million cubic meters of concrete and 463 tons of steel. After 12 years of construction, it was, at the time, the largest dam structure in the world. The dam has a long and interesting history with a lot of controversies due to the amount of land flooded upstream. As well as producing power though, the dam is used for flood protection down stream, including for the city of Shanghai. Fun fact: For ships to navigate from the lower portion to the higher portion of the dam there are a set of 5 staircase locks. It take about 4 hours to navigate these locks and is great fun as a passenger! #threegorgesdam #threegorges #dam #yangtze #yangtzeriver #yichang #hubei #china #asia #engineering #powerstation #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #visitchina #instchina #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Three Gorges Dam) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7ZGHr1nYeM/?igshid=8z5b8kkydm1d

Ben Lomond - 🇳🇿 New Zealand Ben Lomond is a mountain located in Queenstown, New Zealand. It reaches a height of 1,748 meters and is an incredible hike, providing a 360 degree panorama view of the Wakatipu Basin and the surrounding mountain ranges. Starting down in Queenstown, the hike can be a full day depending on where you start. Once you get to 800 meters altitude you leave behind the trees and enter an area covered in alpines grasses and shrubs, allowing fantastic views of the beautiful country around you. The last part of the hike reaches the Ben Lomond Saddle, where, just before the summit, it becomes more of a climb with some very steep sections, just what you need after such a long hike! The views at the top make it 100% worth it though! Fun fact: Ben Lomond, New Zealand is named after Ben Lomond, Scotland, that lies on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond! #benlomond #queenstown #newzealand #southisland #southislandnz #hike #hiking #mountains #lakewakatipu #nztravel #travelnz #lake #climbing #nztourism #visitnz #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Ben Lomond, New Zealand) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7XQLq7ggsk/?igshid=ts29kyia3560

Uluru - 🇦🇺 Australia ⠀⠀ Uluru is a 348 meter high arkose inselberg in the Northern Territory of Australia, and is one of the countries most recognisable landmarks. ⠀⠀ It only rains a few times a year with an average rainfall of 300mm, but the falling water completely changes life at Uluru, as the arid desert explodes with colour. To see Uluru in the rain is extremely rare with only 1% tourists seeing it! On Uluru itself, waterfalls form and the rock changes from its normal vibrant red to dark burgundy, silver and even black. Around Uluru, plants bloom and animals emerge to take advantage of the rain for mating and feeding. Some insects are even stimulated to hatch by the pouring rain. ⠀⠀ Fun fact: The water holding frog buries itself deep in the sand around Uluru until rain heavy enough to soak down to them alerts them it’s time to breed. These frogs can survive for five years without water! I wish I could take credit for this incredible photo, but it was taken by my former flat mate in Melbourne. Edited by me. ⠀⠀ #uluru #ulurukatatjuta #exploreuluru #ulurukatatjutanationalpark #northernterritory #australia #australian #discoveraustralia #travelaustralia #downunder #redcentre #outback #ayersrock #visitaustralia #thisisauatralia #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #askmetravellers #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Uluru) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7TUcVNAlMl/?igshid=14arwu9laso08

Halifax - 🇨🇦 Canada Halifax (official Halifax Regional Municipality) is the capital of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, with a population mainly located around the harbour on the Atlantic Ocean. Along the harbour is the Halifax Boardwalk, a 3km long public footpath which stretches from the Halifax Seaport to the Casino Nova Scotia with plenty in between to spend the whole day exploring. With numerous restaurants serving incredibly fresh sea food, interesting, must see museums and of course fantastic, relaxing views over the water, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Interesting fact: On December 6th 1917, a cargo ship carrying explosives caught fire after a collision. The resulting explosion was the largest man made, accidental explosion ever created and, unfortunately, resulted in 2,000 deaths. #halifax #novascotia #halifaxnovascotia #halifaxns #canada #atlanticcanada #boardwalk #cityscapes #urbanphotography #citybynight #harbour #visitnovascotia #visitcanada #canadatravel #discovercanada #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Halifax, Nova Scotia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7Qx4p2gzQK/?igshid=1to1v0f76k3qd

Dunnet Head - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland Dunnet Head is a peninsula on the north coast of Scotland. It is the northern most point in mainland Scotland and therefore, Great Britain too. Dramatic 91m cliffs hold Dunnet Head Lighthouse, while surrounding bays contain surprisingly beautiful beaches. You might not want to swim in the cold North Sea for the majority of the year, but seals can commonly be spotted, along with lots of other wildlife! Nearby, you can travel to John O’groats, a popular tourist spot, being at one end of the longest distance between two inhabited points on the mainland (the other being Land’s End, Cornwall). Fun fact: Looking north, you will clearly see the Orkney Islands, with the Pentland Firth stretching between you. Tides here are some of the fastest in the world making it potentially the best place in the world for tidal power. The power plant is currently under construction! #dunnethead #caithness #northsea #scotland #greatbritain #uk #cliffs #sea #seaview #seacliffs #dramaticseascapes #moodynature #gloomy #nature #coastline #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #askmetravellers #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Dunnet Head Lighthouse) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7OWP4gg-25/?igshid=1q18kvrbi9p1n

Boa Vista - 🇨🇻 Cape Verde Boa Vista is a desert like island belonging to the Cape Verde Islands. It is the third largest in the archipelago of ten, and despite a rising population, it still has the lowest population density of them all. Though the island was traditionally reliant on salt collection and farming, tourism has risen rapidly since the the international airport was built in 2007. Less than 15,000 people live on the island, so the beaches, desserts and even traditional villages have remained largely unchanged. If you’re after a relaxing holiday, Boa Vista and it’s pristine, long, sandy beaches are incredible! Be sure to try some gorgeous sea food at the beautiful beach bars, you won’t get it much fresher than this! Fun fact: Boa Vista is home to the third largest loggerhead turtle population in the world. During the summer months it is almost guaranteed that you can see one. Lake Matheson - 🇳🇿 New Zealand Lake Matheson is a lake near Fox Glacier in South Westland, New Zealand. It is famous for its mirror reflection of Aoroki/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman, New Zealand’s two highest peaks. Organic matter from the surrounding native forest leaches into the water creating the dark reflective surface, which on a calm day with no wind, provides the most stunning views. Even if you don’t get perfect conditions, it only takes roughly an hour and a half to walk around the lake, and you can still have an amazing experience with some beautiful nature to see! Charco Verde - 🇪🇸 Lanzarote Charco Verde, or The Green Puddle, is a lagoon in the Volcanoes National Park in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. The water in the lagoon gets its green colour from marine flora in the water, and it is actually connected to the ocean by underground cracks. On the surface it is separated by a gorgeous, pebbly black sand beach with the chance to find some of the semi-precious mineral, olivine. With the green water contrasting against the volcanic landscape of red cliffs and black sand, as well as the blue of the sky and sea, it makes for an incredible sight. It’s free and easy to get to, and definitely worth a visit when on the island! Chengdu Panda Base - 🇨🇳 China Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a non-profit research and breeding facility for pandas, as well as the unrelated, Red Pandas, founded in 1987. Partnered with organisations around the world, many of which have captive pandas of there own, it provides information and helps improve important conservation efforts. You can walk around the base to see pandas of varying ages in a recreated environment as well as new born incubated pandas! When I went all of the pandas were sleeping inside where it was cool, but it was such an amazing experience to see them in real life! Fun fact: Starting with 6 sick pandas, the facility has seen 116 births, producing 172 pandas! This is an incredible achievement considering pandas only ovulate once a year! #chengdupandabase #chengdu #china #panda #pandas #giantpanda #conservation #incubators #babypanda #banyanimals #cuteanimals #visitchina #disciverchina #chinatravels #chinatrips #wheretovisit #travel #travelguide #discovermoretravels #travelinspiration #travelinfo #travelphotography #travelblogger #travelgram #travelholic #beautifuldestinations #exploremore #worlderlust #ilovetravel (at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6q_Sj3HlSb/?igshid=lx51czwx2911
