Rahu in Ayurveda and Remedies to Physical Ailments
Rahu and Ayurveda
Ayurveda (Vedic medicine) and Vedic astrology are closely related branches of Vedic science designed to harmonise ourselves with the greater universe of consciences.
Astrology is used as a diagnostic tool for Auyrvedic practitioner in the treatment of disease. Associated with planetary influences are the ailments affecting the portion of the body represented by the Sign position of the planet - at birth, in transit, or by direction; and by the Signs and Houses ruled by the planet.
In ayurvedic astrology following are the ailments corresponding to Rahu
Heart problems, Hyperacidity and Burning Sensations,  (When Rahu is in eighth house, 12th house or its aspect is on first house or fourth house)
Hypertension and Brain Disorders, Lunacy and Fits (When Rahu is in conjunction with Moon or aspects moon or when Rahu is in fourth sign – Cancer)
Sexual Excesses or Sexual impotency *** (When Rahu is in conjunction with Venus or when Rahu aspects Venus)
Drinking Problems  (When Rahu is in fourth or eighth house, or when rahu aspects second house)
Abdominal ulcers or Stomach related problems (When Rahu is in fifth house or when Rahu aspects fifth house)
Gout arthritis (When Rahu and Shani/Saturn sit together or when Rahu aspects shani/Saturn)
Small pox and skin diseases (When Rahu and Mercury are in conjunction)
Tumblr media
To counter these negative Rahu influences, Ayurveda suggests the use of multi-faceted herb - Bacopa monierri (Brahmi) that not only provide curative relief to various physical afflictions of Rahu but is also endowed with the preventive power to combat planetary interference. In exactly the same manner a precious gem can minimise the impact of planetary afflictions.
Rahu’s connection with Garlic and Onions in Ayurveda
Tumblr media
As per Ayurveda - therefore eating garlic and Onion, makes the body very strong like Asura’s body and at the same time their intelligence gets contaminated like the intelligence of Asura.
Onions and garlic make a person’s blood veins expand. This is why doctors prescribe onions and garlic to patients with blood pressure. However there is a downside to this. As already mentioned, that these foods make one’s veins expand and since most veins in our body are found in our genitals, the expansion of these makes them more active and very difficult to control.
*** For remedies to physical ailments mentioned above related to Rahu or other Grahas.

Rahu and it’s significance
In astrology Rahu is natural and functional malefic planet for ascendants and rising signs.
Rahu gives extreme amplification to the planet with which it sits or to the house it sits in alone.
These are the things Rahu represents or signifies
·         Obsession.
·         One’s inner desire to do something.
·         Confusions in mind or hallucinations.
Tumblr media
Rahu signifies foreign lands or foreign cultures. Not necessarily meaning foreign travel, could also be person indulging in activities not acceptable by the society one lives in.
·         Depending on position and aspects of Rahu a person may indulge in illegal activities. There is a tendency to do theft and robbery.
·         Rahu may make person abusive - physically, verbally or even sexually.
Rahu can increase your expenses if it sits in the house of wealth. It may make a person spend for unfruitful purposes - drinking, smoking, gambling etc.
But Rahu does not necessarily bring bad news.
Based on the position, ownership of the planet and signs Rahu may give positive effects for people in the field of politics and medicine.
One thing is for sure, Rahu is impatient and brings extreme state of mind to the subject. And subject using upays/remedies can use Rahu for his/her own advantage.

Holika on 24th March 2024 - Pooja Vidhi and Muhurata
Holika Pooja takes place a day before the Holi Festival. This day is called as ‘Holika Dahan’. There is no special pooja performed on the Holi day. This day is only meant for celebrations and play of colors. Holika Dahan is the major ritual performed at the time of Holi which is also considered an important Holi Puja. People light bonfires on the eve of Holi festival to celebrate the victory of 'good’ over 'bad’ which is called Holika Dahan.
Tumblr media
This year Holika Dahan will be done on 24th March,2024 , after this on next day people use to play with colors , this day is known as Dhulendi.
According to the Indian sculptures right Muhurat for Holika Dahan is more important than selecting the right Muhurt for any other religious festivals. For other festivals doing spiritual prayer or puja at wrong timing will not bring puja benefits but doing Holika Dahan at wrong time would bring suffering and misfortune to your and your family.
Holika Dahan Muhurta = 18:26 to 20:51
Duration = 2 Hours 25 Mins
Holika Pooja Vidhi
 Pooja Samagri
Gangajal
Idols for Holika and Prahlad
Agarbatti or Dhoop
Flowers
Cow Dung
Roli
Rice (should not be broken)
Gulal
Coconut
Holi Pooja can be performed at any place.
First Cow dung is spread all round the Holika and then sprinkle holy Gangajal on Holika to purify it.
Now make idols of Holika and Prahlad from Cow dung if possible otherwise use ready-made.
Spread flowers all over Holika.
Light Agarbatti or Dhoop in front of Holika.
Now start Pooja with the name of Lord Ganesha and pronounce below mantra: -
Offer rice, roli and flower to Holika and then coconut.
Now lit the Holika and remove the idol of Prahlad from Holika.Fold hands and remember Lord Vishnu with mantra:
ऊँ पुण्डरीकाक्ष: पुनातु।
After lighting up Holika share prashad with everyone and mark tika on forehead with gulal.
Holi and Astrology
The next day to Holika i.e. on the day of holi is an auspicious day to perform astrological remedies. On 17th March 5 take a yellow cloth and tie 5 gomati chakras in it. Revolve the gomati chakras in yelloe cloths over the heads of family members and throw it in the south direction. This remedy reduces the malefic effects of various doshas in the kundli.
Wish you and your family members a very happy holi.

How to prevent hair fall
HOW TO PREVENT HAIR FALL
Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis , or skin. Hair is one of the defining characteristics of mammals. The human body, apart from areas of glabrous, is covered in follicles which produce thick terminal and fine vellus . Most common interest in hair is focused on hair growth, hair types and hair care, but hair is also an important biomaterial primarily composed of protein, notably keratin. The word "hair" usually refers to two distinct structures:
Hair grows everywhere on the external body except for mucus membranes and glabrous skin. such as that found on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and on the lips.
It's better to use natural products to stop hair fall than to go in for expensive PARLOUR treatments that may not help the problem.
The following easy Try tips at home and see how effective they are in reducing hair loss
1. Hot oil treatments: Take any natural oil - olive, coconut, canola (vegetable oil) - and warm it up on low heat , should not be too hot.Massage it gently into your scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, then shampoo your hair.
2. Take one TBS of Tea and boil in water for five minutes drain from tea strainer. Massage it gently into your scalp. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, then shampoo your hair.
3.Natural Juices:-
(A) You can rub your scalp with either garlic juice, onion juice or ginger juice. Leave it on overnight and wash it thoroughly in the morning.
(B) Mix 10 ML Mango juice + 100 ML Amla juice. Massage it gently into your scalp.
(C) Mix Lemon Juice 100 ML + 200 ML coconut oil Massage it gently into your scalp
4. Get a head massage: Massaging your scalp for a few minutes daily will help stimulate circulation. Good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Circulation may be improved through massage by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base.
5. Antioxidants: Apply warm green tea (two bags brewed in one cup of water) on your scalp and leave this mixture on for an hour and then rinse. Green tea contains antioxidants which prevent hair loss and boost hair growth. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for an hour, then shampoo your hair.
6. Practice meditation: Believe it or not, most of the times, the root cause for hair loss is stress and tension. Meditation can help in reducing that and restore hormonal balance.

The Mantra which should be chanted while donating Karwa –
·        “करकं क्षीरसम्पूर्णा तोयपूर्णमथापि वा। ददामि रत्नसंयुक्तं चिरञ्जीवतु मे पतिः॥”
·        It means “O milk filled Karwe with precious stones; I donate you, so that my husband is long lived”.
Moonrise rituals:
Tumblr media
·        Once the above rituals are completed, the women wait for the moon to rise.
·        When the moon rises, the women see its reflection in thali of water, or through a dupatta (veil) or chalani.
·        They offer water to the moon and seek divine blessing.
·        Then, they turn to their husbands and see their faces in the same manner and pray for the safety, prosperity, and well-being of their husbands.
·        After that, they are given a piece of sweet and a sip of water by their husbands.
·        This marks the end of the day long fast.
Ayurveda and Karwa Chauth:
The ancient Indian medical system of Ayurveda sees the basic cause of many diseases as the accumulation of toxic materials in the digestive system. Regular cleansing of toxic materials keeps one healthy. By fasting, the digestive organs get rest and all body mechanisms are cleansed and corrected. A complete fast is good for heath, and the occasional intake of warm lemon juice during the period of fasting prevents the flatulence.
Veeravati Katha for reference:
A long time ago, there lived a beautiful princess by the name of Veeravati. When she grew up, she was married to a king. On the occasion of the first Karva Chauth after her marriage, she went to her parents house to do the vrat. After sunrise, she observed a strict fast. However, Veeravati was very delicate and could not stand the rigours of fasting. By evening, Veeravati felt very weak, and fainted. Veeravati had seven brothers who loved her dearly. They couldn’t stand the plight of their sister and decided to end her fast. They made a fire at the nearby hill and asked their sister to see the glow. They assured her that it was the moonlight and since the moon had risen, she could break her fast. However, the moment the gullible queen Veeravati ate her dinner, she received the news that her husband, the king, was dead. She was heartbroken and rushed to her husband’s palace. On the way, she met Shivji and Parvati Mata. Parvati Mata told her that her husband the king had died because she had broken her fast by watching a false moon. However, when Veeravati asked her for forgiveness, Parvati Mata granted her the boon that her husband, the king would come to life but would be still very ill. When the Veeravati reached the palace, she found the king lying unconscious with hundreds of needles inserted in his body. Each day she managed to remove one needle from the king’s body. Next year, on the day of Karva Chauth, only one needle remained embedded in the body of the unconscious king. The queen Veeravati observed a strict fast that day and when she went to the market to buy the karva for the puja, her maid removed the remaining needle from the king’s body. The king regained consciousness, and mistook the maid for his queen. When the real queen Veeravati returned to the palace, she was made to serve as a maid. However, Veeravati was true to her faith and religiously observed the Karva Chauth vrat. Once when the king was going to some other kingdom, he asked the real queen Veeravati (now turned maid) if she wanted anything. Veeravati asked for a pair of identical dolls. The king brought back the dolls for her. The queen Veeravati always used to chant this song “Roli ki Goli ho gayi… Goli ki Roli ho gayi” (the queen has turned into a maid and the maid has turned into a queen). On being asked by the king as to why did she keep repeating that song, Veeravati narrated the entire story. The king repented and restored the queen Veeravati to her royal status. It was blessings of Goddess Parvati and the queen’s devotion and Her faith that won back her husband’s affection.

The Legends of Karwa Chauth
1. Mahabharata Story
The earliest reference of a Karwa Chauth can be found in the great epic of Mahabharata. As per Mahabharata, Arjun, a supreme warrior and one of the Pandavas, went to the Nilgiri Hills to offer his prayers and worship the gods. Draupadi, wife of the Pandavas, was accompanying him. On the way, Draupadi was struck with fear believing that she was alone in the forest with no one to protect her. As she treated Lord Krishna as her Brother, she invoked him to appear before her and help her out of this grave situation.  On listening to her fear and perplexity, Lord Krishna cited an example of Goddess Parvati. Parvati in a similar situation asked Lord Shiva’s help. Lord Shiva explained to her that to ward off such apprehensions, a woman could observe a fast on Kartik Krishna Chaturthi as a remedy. Lord Krishna advised Draupadi to undertake this fast and also assured her of he victory of the Pandavas. Women also pray to Lord Ganesha for the fulfillment of all their wishes.
2. Story of Karwa
A long ago a women named Karwa was devoted and was having intense love, affection, emotions and pure by heart in her body for her husband ( true Indian wife) This true love for her husband gave her spiritual power (shakti).
One day her husband while taking bath in the river was caught by the crocodile. Karwa saw that her husband leg has been caught by the crocodile and he saw her husband crying for help and was not able to pull his leg from the mouth of crocodile. Karwa came immediately and bound the crocodile with a strong cotton yarn and requested the crocodile to leave the leg of her husband and they both tried to get release from the mouth of crocodile but failed desperately.
Karwa prayed to the Lord Yama the lord of Death and requested to send the crocodile in hell so that to free her husband from the clutches of crocodile. Yama did not acceded her request .Karwa threatened to curse Yama and cursed the ultimate destroy destruction him. Yama became afraid on being cursed( Sharap) by Pati vrata (devoted) wife and sent the crocodile to hell. She was able to get free her husband from the clutches of death as she was blesses with the spiritual power (shakti) being pati vrata istri and was capable of giving curse to the Lord of death Yama.
Both Karwa and her husband enjoyed many years of wedded bliss-this day Karwa chauth is celebrated with great faith and belief known and famous in the name of KARWA.
3. The Story of Queen Veeravati
A long long time ago, there lived a beautiful girl by the name of Veeravati. She was the only sister of her seven loving brothers, who was married to a king. On the occasion of the first Karwa Chauth after her marriage, she went to her parents’ house. After sunrise, she observed a strict fast. However, the queen couldn’t stand the rigors of fasting and was desperately waiting for the moon to rise. The seven brothers who loved her dearly, were very disturbed watching the distress of their sister and decided to end her fast by deceiving her. Then the brothers reflected a mirror through Pipal tree leaves. The sister, taken it as moon rise, broke the fast and took food. However, the moment the queen ate her dinner, she received the news that her husband, the king, was seriously ill. The queen rushed to her husband’s palace and on the way, she met Lord Shiva and his consort, Goddess Parvati. Parvati informed her that the king had died because the queen had broken her fast by watching a false moon. However, when the queen asked her for forgiveness, the goddess granted her the boon that the king would be revived. But to achieve this, she would have to undertake the Karwa Chauth fast under strict rituals, then only her husband would come top life. Thus, by strictly following all the rituals of Karwa chauth, queen Veeravati relivened her husband.
4. The Story of Satyavan and Savitri  There is the story of the Satyavan and Savitri. When Lord Yama, came to procure Satyavan’s soul, Savitri begged him to grant him life. When he refused, she stopped eating and drinking and Yamraj finally relented. He granted her, her husband’s life. To this day, Karwa Chauth is celebrated with great faith and belief.
Karwa Chauth Fast ‘Karwa Chauth’ is a ritual of fasting observed by married Hindu women seeking the longlife, well-being and prosperity of their husbands. Married women keep a strict fast and do not take even a drop of water. It is the most important and difficult fast observed by married Hindu women. It begins before sunrise and ends only after offering prayers and worshiping the moon at night. No food or water can be taken after sunrise. The fast is broken once the moon is sighted and rituals of the day have been performed. At night when the moon appears, women break their fast after offering water to the moon.
Importance of Fasting Hindus believe it is not easy to unceasingly pursue the path of spirituality in one’s daily life. Therefore a worshiper must strive to impose restrains on to get the mind focused. And one form of restraint is fasting. However, fasting is not only a part of worship, but a great instrument for self-discipline too. It is a training of the mind and the body to endure and harden up against all hardships, to persevere under difficulties and not give up.

Kulik Kaal Sarp Yoga/dosha (Kaal Sarp Yog Series Article 3)
This is the third article in the Kaal Sarp Yog series. My first article focussed on the characteristics, effects, explanations to the 12 types of Kaal Sarp Yog / Dosha in short. The second article explained the effects of the Anant Kaal Sarp Yog. This article focuses on the Effects and remedies on Kulik Kaal Sarp Yog / Dosha.
Tumblr media
Kulik Kaal Sarp Yog / Dosha
Placement of Rahu (Dragon`s head) in the second house and Ketu (dragon`s tail) in the eighth house in chart forms Kulik Kaal Sarp yoga/dosha.
Tumblr media
Native with a Kulik Kaal Sarp yoga/dosha suffers in his life and faces
health problems
facial troubles like problems in teeth and deformed teeth,  touncils, throat problems, eye sight
wealth disputes (financial matters) and debt traps. He faces obstacles in financial matters and feels insecure in financial standings, struggles throughout in his life.
disruptions in married life - problems from in laws and in domestic life. This yog can even lead to divorce from husband/wife, court cases, separation with the second half, litigations and disputes.
Speaking problems-language rough (Karkash) and speaking disorders like stammering during infancy for a longer time. Sometimes native looses control on tongue and have bad communications skill while speaking. Due to such reasons he hurt others and makes enemies (hidden) He has to face insult, humiliation in domestic and social life. His heart remains disturbed (Ashant and bechain).
This Yog can also cause health and financial problems to the elder brother of mother (mama). The native is deceived by  friends/relatives. He is prone to accidents minor/major and surgery also.He dies unnatural death-from poison, accident, snake bite or suicide. He may go to jail and face incidents of theft even in a day and see many times in life ups and down.
Other observations from my experience
Ketu (Dragon`s tail) in eighth house bring lack of clarity in the the native’s mind and the native remains dull. Due to this planet position the native suffers from piles and is vulnerable to contracting diseases and injury from some weapons.
Most natives experiencing this Kaal Sarp Yog / Dosha will turn liar. They speak rough (karkash) and sour. If somehow the native can control speaking lies and can speak sweet:- he may live a life like king .
In this Yog/ Dosha the native gains from foreign land and travelling abroad. He or she may have a keen interest in Tantra / Mantra.
Remedies and relief from Kulik Kaal Sarp Yog / Dosha:
In case of ill impacts in earnings, for bringing good communications skill and convincing skills, for better support from relatives/friends and protection from deceive, to get rid of accidents-injuries and surgeries, for happy married /domestic life free from court cases/litigations/divorce/easy settlement from better half, to avoid or get  rid of insult/humiliation and enemity ,relief in social life and happiness in life the following remedy is recommended:
