Warlock Chronicles (1993) #5 is a really good exploration of the transgender themes in adam warlock's story. all about the negative effects on his soul for denying her woman side, how embracing it brings them peace, and how it's important to do so and accept who you are
[the old woman in these panels is an aspect of himself, for some further context]
#my bigender babygirl...#he's SO trans and I need this explored more pspsps#this issue is my everything#adam warlock#marvel

#MARIKA...#I'm sure the other extreme exists bc she is a complex woman who sucks and people are bound to erase her being a complex character#and just make her comically evil despite having reasons for being this way#BUT DEAR G-D THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE I'VE SEEN WHO SAY SHE WAS FORCED TO ABANDON HER KIDS IN THE SEWERS#it's not that hard to make her have complicated feelings instead of just deciding that's the only possible reason she's a bad mother#but I cannot say much more without crossing into dlc spoiler territory#somehow I've never seen the other extreme and I'm glad bc it's going to be just as awful but in a different direction esp with the dlc

being a marvel fan who genuinely loves and cares about the source material in general fucking sucks a lot, but i think dr doom fans deserve a special "it's so fucking over" discount for all the time they get fucked over. genuinely no one have gone through as much pain as them.
#I DECIDED TO GET INTO HIS COMICS AT THE WRONG TIME...#IT'S GONNA BE SO OVER...#I don't know when it'll happen but when it happens it's so over#this shit wouldn't happen in latveria

if i'm honest i've never had any real desire for a comic or character i like to be turned into a movie. it's partly because i like my niche interests staying niche, thank you very much, but in addition to that, superhero movies are granted a weight that i don't buy into. comics are not stepping stones towards movies, comics are comics. and i like when comics are first and foremost occupied with being comics

are we still doing ideal ship dynamics
[ID: it's a rough drawing of two stick figures. above one of them, it says: "something is wrong with them." above and around the other, it reads: "[has the dubious honor of being the one person who understands them]" and "[something is also wrong with them]" /end ID]
#THADAM#what if you were the avatar of death and I was the avatar of life and the only one who trusts and understands you...

Orion's mourning of Lightray in the latest issue? It is just perfect. The facade of a stoic warrior to bearing it all out in a destructive way (revealing how he truly feels along with his true face) to how he then how he seems like a child in the last panel? Just perfect.
ALSO Orion specifically reflecting this childlike pose? That's the first time he gets that treatment from the narrative/his depiction in contrast to someone like Lightray who's been described as "child" by Highfather. For once Orion is childlike instead of a "champion" or "Warbringer." (I told you guys I would be keeping an eye on this.)
He's a child too like Lightray was. (He was also a child "forged in the heat of conflict" just like Kamal.)
