!!!!!!!!!! aaaaAHHHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH, VENUS!!! ILU!! <3 <3 <3 I was not expecting this at all!!! Even with sketches, it's easy to tell how fluid & expressive your style is!! I've been wanting to draw out some scenes from the fic, so to see you draw a full-on animatic is so neat!!

I really like how you drew the contrast between Al feeling tired but also in shock & unable to process his feelings, while Vox is confused/surprised, but you can already start to see some of the intense emotions that'll soon crop up.

For StaticRadio, my headcanon is that if they didn't have some sort of fallout, Alastor & Vox would have been in a queer platonic relationship by the 1980s at the very latest. Prior to Vox's gradual pursuit of anything technologically new, I think he would've been on roughly the same page as Alastor. Vox's idea of affection would all be rather sweet, like holding hands, staying together at home during a rainy day and reading books, giving Alastor flowers with special meanings, etc. This would have been their relationship in 'KTTH' before everything all went wrong.

But inversely, Alastor would be far more affectionate, like in his friendships with Rosie, Mimzy, & Niffty. It's also really fitting that the cannibalistic serial killer radio deer twink is BFFs with a fellow cannibal overlord, a former Hollywood starlet who intentionally ran someone over with a stolen car, & Niffty. Vox would fit in super well with Alastor's friend group.

Al genuinely loves his friends & it's really, really cute & wholesome:

As much as I am loathe to admit it, Valentino has style. The man really knows fashion.

He makes these chirpy moth sounds when he moves sometimes, & it genuinely make me laugh.

His face is very punchable. I want to hit him with a flyswatter. But jokes aside, I like that he fears Niffty?? It kinda has a Looney Tunes dynamic to it, so the little cyclops bug demon scaring the heck out of the tall moth demon is comedic gold. Niffty is truly the MVP here.

Knife Through the Heart - Chapter 17

Finished writing Chapter 17! Wrote this entire thing in pretty much one sitting. And things will only get worse from here on out. I've long since let go of the hope that I'll be able to write anything cheerful for this fic.

I briefly entertained the idea of writing a StaticRadio fic with human!Vox encountering a wandering spirit in 1950s New Orleans. He visits the area for a report he's working on, but ends up getting dragged into a 20 year old cold case. Despite Alastor being a literal ghost, their relationship here would be far healthier, considering their lack of a shared history and the fact that neither of them are in hell.

But of course, who's got the time for that, ahaha.....

My Hazbin Hotel merch arrived today!! I also ordered a mystery defect playmat from Sharkrobot on a whim & ended up receiving a discontinued Alastor design!!

My Alastor shrine continues to grow as my shelf space ever so quickly diminishes. I'm not sure how to display all four of my Al playmats though. Also pre-ordered some Alastor pins from Etsy, so I'll eventually make an Itaboard.

🐇 Do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both? 

I much prefer writing original characters, particularly with trying to figure out how to incorporate them into the setting without changing the entire worldview! Uriel's the first time I ever wrote an OC into a fanfic. He's more or less there just to incorporate a bit of levity in the fic. Buuuut, also because I thought it would be funny to make the guy responsible for the murder knife to be an uwu cat boy angel.

🦷 Share some personal wisdom or a life hack you swear on.

 -When writing a story, I've found it makes things so much easier to plot out if you know what the ending will be. You don't necessarily need to have the ending for your entire story written out, but it'll help you out when getting from 'Point A' to 'Point G.'

-Also, keeping a small notepad/pen on your person is super useful! You'll never know when inspiration will hit, and while you have a clear idea of a scene/dialogue you want to write, sometimes the details can be lost along the way.

-If a character/scene doesn't entirely contribute to plot progression/character development, I tend to get rid of them after around 3-5 drafts. But for the most part, the defining factor in removing a character/scene from a story is if I don't have fun with writing them. However, this is more of a personal thing, and applies more to indie publishing.

🧩 What will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

I read summaries/tags before clicking on a fanfiction first, but the thing that deters me away from a fanfic completely is formatting. I have terrible eyesight, so I can't read anything that's just one entire block test.

It sucks, since I've found fics like, 10k fics with very, very intriguing concepts!! And their writing style is also super good! But if there's not indentations/paragraphs, it's easy to lose your spot while reading.

🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction?

I started writing Tangled the Series fanfictions into the second month of lockdown [April 2020] due to boredom. I ended up having a lot of fun with fics, but after TTS ended, I kind of fell through with posting on AO3, save for the random fic every now & then.

However, the Hazbin Hotel/StaticRadio hyperfixation is real, so I'm back to writing fanfictions again~!!

I recently got a promotion, released my sixth book [With a seventh on the way very soon], & I'm planning to make some StaticRadio merch.

🔪 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

When I was in elementary school, I once read a book on various versions of the afterlife from ancient civilizations. One of them was an account about how in a very, very, very early civilization, their version of the underworld involved the deceased being cooked inside of a boiling pot for eternity.

I vaguely recall it was Mesopotamian or Babylonian in origin, but no matter where I look, I can't find anything that matches up with it. Oh, but Babylon has so much interesting stories, like demon scorpions.

Anyway, this technically counts as research, since I'm trying to find this info well into 2024. I reference religions from various regions/times in my main series, so I really want to delve into this subject a bit more.

Vaggie beats the shit out of Vox in the chapter, if it's any consolation? Every time I think I'll write something happier, it just gets worse for poor Alastor. ;w;

For a bit of context, Alastor's psyche is referring to insults he'd often heard during his human life. Not necessarily directed at him, but to people he knew.

For someone who said she was going to post biweekly, it looks like she'll have the new chapter out by Saturday/Sunday.

I'm finally off of the bus after six hours!! On vacation rn. It sucks, if I wasn't prone to motion sickness, I could've written more for my book or more fanfic stuff.

...I know I said I was going to make updates biweekly for 'Knife Through the Heart,' but I am super hyped for Chapter 17.

Once upon a time there lived a vampire named Noël Rousseau. While his existence was one of monotony, it was familiar. All was well, and he was content...until a curious demonic girl and her magpie stumbled across the small cabin he called home.

Placed upon a crossroads, Noël must decide whether to continue on in ignorance or confront the mysteries of his past--particularly the reasons as to why he was trapped in that lonesome, isolated house for over fifty years, and the disappearance of his Aunt Delia. Unfortunately, the outside world is not as he remembers it to be.

Working on this and another tonally different story at the same time within the course of thirty minutes was...an experience, that I do not wish to replicate again.

Anyway, small excerpt from Chapter 16! The story is shifting gears from here on-out. Also, once this chapter is posted, I'll be switching to a biweekly schedule since I need to get back to working on my novels/comics [New chapters will be released every other Saturday]. On the bright side, chapters will range from around 7k-10.5k from now on.

Chapter 16, however, should be up around March 30.
