Karakoram express train is the most famous and favorite train of Pakistani people. The train have business class, economy class and ac standard class coaches. The rake/bogies of karakoram express train is almost new as compared by other trains of Pakistan railways like Allama Iqbal express, Awam express and Karachi express trains.

Karakoram express train runs between Karachi and Lahore, Two big populated cities of Pakistan.

Karakoram express start its first train service on 14 August 2002. The train is named after the famous Karakoram mountain range of northern Pakistan.Karakoram Express was inaugurated on 14 August 2002. This was during a period where Pakistan Railways went through several "facelifts" under Pervez Musharraf's government (including Karachi Express, Tezgam and Shalimar Express). Karakoram Express acquired the title of the "fastest train in Pakistan".

The train have only few stops like Karachi Cantonment, Hyderabad Junction, Rohri Junction, Khanewal Junction, Faisalabad and Lahore Junction.

Train on main line will be running on booked speed but if that train have to change the railway track and necessary to stop the train on a particular railway station, it's speed must remain between 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.

Here in this train video, Badar express is arriving at Faisalabad Dryport Railway Station and stop there for two minutes only. The train firstly on main line and then change the railway line from main line to loop line after reducing the speed from 50 to 15 km/h.

The leading train engine is 6307 ZCU-30. These Locomotives was purchased from China due to shortage of diesel engines in Pakistan railways. This (zcu-30) Locomotive have 3000 horse power.

The main specialty of these locomotives is, their fuel consumption is very less. ZCU-30 locomotive needs only 5000 liters of diesel from Karachi to Lahore. The fuel consumption of ZCU-20 is more less then the ZCU 30 locomotive.

Badar express is a very famous passenger train of Pakistan railways. The train runs between Lahore and Faisalabad city. It is an Intercity rail service.

Pakistan's passenger trains were a lot in numbers and then a time came when all passenger or local trains were stopped. But now the railway is trying to increase the number of trains like express, mail or passenger.

For this purpose recently few trains were launched like Jinnah express, Sir syed express and Rehman Baba express.

Here (in this video) is the lashing passenger train "Badar express" (Lahore to Faisalabad) train is passing near the Sahianwala railway station.

The GE Universal Series locomotives were diesel locomotives originally launched by GE in early 1956. The latest variant in the Universal Series was built in 2005. Initially, there were nine U-series models: U4B, U6B, U9B, U9C, U12B, U12C, U18B, U18C and UD18B. They were designed to be readily adaptable to different track gauges for export markets and very reliable. The U5B and U8B appeared later, being first built for RFFSA, Brazil in 1961.

The Universal Series has at its heart the Cooper Bessemer engine. General Electric built four demonstrators in 1954 with Cooper Bessemer engines for road testing. This demonstrator set was numbered the 750ABCD. The demonstrators were made up of two cab units and two booster units. The demonstrators spent considerable time testing on the Erie Railroad. The 750AB were UM12s built with eight cylinder, FVBL-8 engines rated at 1200 horsepower. The 750DC were UM18s built with 12 cylinder, FVBL-12 engines rated at 1800 horsepower. After testing the units were rebuilt in October 1959 at GE-Erie with 16 cylinder engines rated at 2000 horsepower. The former demonstrators were sold to the Union Pacific as UM20s in April 1960 and numbered UP 620AB-621AB. The UM20s were retired in October 1963.

 The Akbar Express is a passenger train operated daily by Pakistan Railways between Quetta and Lahore. The trip takes approximately 23 hours and 30 minutes to cover a published distance of 1,225 kilometres (761 mi), traveling along the Rohri–Chaman Railway Line, Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line, Khanewal–Wazirabad Branch Line and the Shahdara Bagh–Sangla Hill Branch Line.
