I wonder... does this blog have enough reach in the fandom that we could try and finally put a stop to people tagging unrelated AUs as LU.

The correct term to use is "Links meet AU" and the reason the mistagging hurts is because:

A) It dismisses the creativity of the work. Its a lot like saying someone's original character looks like a fictional character you know. It may be a small unintended insult but it can be demoralising and make them not wish to share their art anymore.

B) It connects all AUs of this type to Jojo, the creator of LU. That comic was not the first links meet au by a long shot. YES her work inspired many of us to start our own imagines of the same base concept, but that does not make them Linked Universe. It's like claiming someone inspired by spider-man deciding to explore the superhero genre is just making more spider-man.

Yes this may be a small issue, but I've been working on this webcomic since 2020 and still get those demoralising tags. I've been silently baring it long enough. Even worse is seeing how it hurts fellow creators in the fandom.

I don't like asking this but... Please spread this post and if you'd like: add your own experiences below. Maybe we can change things around here.

hey, I know you probably don't check your inbox much, but I wanted to ask you something. I love your work and everything you do for us! but is there a way you can inform people of proper tag useage? there are a lot of people tagging LU stuff as not LU and it's really hurting other Zelda fandoms

It's okay if you don't, I know it's a lot to ask, but hey, a shot in the dark might land, you know?

Yes, this is important. It’s a wonderful problem to have so much fan content and enthusiasm for linkeduniverse, but I think it is time to remind everyone about this, especially with a new LoZ right around the corner.

So I have a request for everyone: when you post linkeuniverse content, please be sure and tag it appropriately.  there are many variations of the tag, but both of these are the most prevalent: #linked universe #linkeduniverse    and please be concientious of this on other platforms as well, not just tumblr

AUs are a very specific sort of entertainment to say the least, so it’s in everyone's best interest to allow others to block it if they wish. 

I don't even tag linkeduniverse in association with any LoZ tags anymore for this very reason, but that’s just me

Oh my gosh I am so impatient 😭 anyways another little traditional comic test using my copics and stuff. This is where the dads meet a certain musician. Can you guess which one?

It’s funny cuz I wanted to buy a spiral sketchbook for this type of stuff and I got two for $10, plus they were 40% off. And then I got new liners cuz mine were dying for $7 and THOSE were also 40%. I spent a total of $12 which is a HUGE deal. Unfortunately the quality isn’t as good with the sketchbooks 😅 as you can see, the copics reeeeally bled into the lineart so that is gonna be a challenge, but it’s not biggie! It’s not meant to look perfect anyway! Maybe I need a thicker line but for now I must suffer

Anyways the dads are so silly to me. I love them. Leon is kind of a pain to deal with here, but you’ll understand why soon enough. He has a reason he’s acting this way 🤌

Bush / Foliage Rendering

Since I'm planning to do more original artwork this year (that isn't fanart or LoZ), making some tutorials would be nice! Just want to share on how I paint digitally here.

Oh and for the colors, I usually adjust the Hue slider or Color Balance slider until I got the colors I wanted. Hope this helps!

The art students at my uni inspired me to draw a character sheet for Clover. I already did a character turn around so here’s some Clover expressions and action poses! Idk if it was cuz I got super motivated from the student’s works but MAN I had a blast drawing all of these! It’s fun putting him in these situations and playing with his expressions! I’m trying to improve posing and expressions every day so it was a very fun exercise! Makes me more comfy drawing him!
