I'm not even joking when I say that I want N. Brio to have a sit-down and conversation with Edwin Murray from Five Nights at Freddy's.
N. Brio works for Dr. Cortex, who stole his ideas from him - namely the Evolve-O-Ray - and claimed them as his own.
Edwin Murray worked as a contractor for Fazbear Entertainment during the 1970's, only for William Afton to steal everything that ever belonged to Edwin Murray and claim them for himself and Fazbear Entertainment, including Edwin's family home, and Edwin's wife Fiona's character designs. William may have even murdered Fiona in a fire.
Listen, what if N. Tropy was taking N. Brio somewhere in 1979 and N. Brio just happened to run into Edwin Murray in a bar sometime before The Mimic tried to kill him? And the two men just vent to each other about being wrongly exploited geniuses. That is a conversation I would love to be a fly on the wall for, no joke.

Headcanon I'm sure everyone agrees with: every scientist on the N. Team has explored each other's bodies. Every ship you can think of between the scientists, it's happened at some point behind closed doors.

Omg wait are you that one person who used to rp as cortex on twitter back in 2019-20?
Yes, that was me. I actually was roleplaying as Cortex for far longer than that! I only recently deleted the Twitter account because of Elon Musk!
... I actually started a new account on Bluesky but I don't use it very much. To be honest, I don't feel as comfortable playing Cortex as I used to due to personal issues. I'm trying to get over it... but I'm my own worst critic and progress has been slow.

Silly idea: a FNAF fan game with Crash Bandicoot characters as the animatronics.
Crash himself is one of the animatronic characters, and when he jumpscares you, he yells "WOAH!" in a loud, glitchy voice.

Headcanon: Dr. Cortex and N. Brio attended the same evil college together. During that period, they briefly experimented with cannabis and became addicted. Unfortunately, their college had a strict anti-drug policy... not because it was illegal, but because getting high often makes villains reconsider villainy! So, Cortex and N. Brio were forced to quit.
Cortex is much more relaxed and lazy when he's high. He also gets severe cases of the munchies, eating tons of food that shouldn't be able to fit in his tiny body. Apart from shoving food in his face almost constantly, Cortex is much more pleasant to be around when he's high. Too bad he doesn't touch the stuff anymore. He could use it.
N. Brio is much calmer and more affectionate when he's high, especially physically. He hugged Cortex a lot during that stint in college... and if he got high again, he'd probably do it again and risk getting smacked away. He also gets the munchies, but not nearly to the same degree as Cortex.
N. Gin sadly can't partake in cannabis, as it would react poorly to the rocket fuel in his bloodstream.
... Come to think of it, maybe N. Gin can't drink, either.
N. Tropy gets stoned in his free time, at the end of a long day, when he desperately needs to unwind and doesn't feel like doing anything physical, or getting drunk. He's incredibly serene when he's high, able to articulate his ideas better while under the influence of cannabis. He is a little slower to react to things than usual, which annoys him, but he mostly manages to keep a clear head.
Tropy has an incredibly strict rule about not doing cannabis during work hours or in public. He only ever uses it alone or with someone he actually trusts, which is exceedingly rare. The last thing Tropy wants is to use irresponsibly, which could ruin his perfectly scheduled life. He would absolutely HATE to be tardy, late, or irresponsible for any reason. Being on TIME in his thing!

For a long time, I roleplayed as Dr. Cortex and M. Ployee, his secretary.
M. Ployee has a lot of lore that I only recently finalized, but basically, she used to be a supervillain named M. Press, whose main goal was to destroy the world and everyone in it because she was fed up with humanity's inherent cruelty. She came very close to succeeding, but was ultimately stopped by... her own mother. While it was a very emotional and impactful moment for M. Press, she became the laughing stock of the villain world.
Ashamed of her failure, and her passion for villainy mostly crushed, she began lurking the online Villain's Network under an alias. (This was the 90's, so internet was very basic and different back then.) Many villains were laughing about her, calling her a joke. Unserious. There were even comments made about her abilities as a villain based on her gender.
But then one comment caught M. Press' attention:
sexgodneo69
I'm glad M. Press failed! Now I can take over the world in peace.
This comment had a response under it from another user:
truetimelord420
You? Take over the world? Don't make me laugh, DOCTOR Cortex. You're not even a real evil scientist. Your doctorate is in evil podiatry! Why not spend your time developing evil cures for evil foot fungus, and let the grown-ups do REAL evil, hm?
M. Press used her new alias, M. Ployee, to privately message Dr. Cortex. She used flattery and empathy to win his trust, and learned that he was a wanted terrorist bent on world domination. However, he had only just finished building his evil lair, Cortex Castle, and it was obvious from how exhausted N. Brio was that they needed more human help on the island. M. Ployee told Cortex she used to be M. Press' secretary, and she would love to assist Cortex with anything not science-related.
M. Ployee arrived on Cortex Island, where she had a formal job interview with Dr. Cortex. Cortex had no idea M. Ployee was actually M. Press, and M. Ployee never revealed the truth even after being hired. From then on, she worked in the shadows of Cortex Castle, always behind the scenes, never dealing with Crash or any of the heroes. She filled out paperwork, made Cortex coffee, made sandwiches for him, counted his crystals for him... and the whole time, Melissa found herself falling deeper and deeper in love with the evil little madman.
Eventually, the two of them drunkenly confessed their feelings for one another over a round of red wine in Cortex's office. By that time, N. Gin and N. Tropy had joined the N. Team, and pretty much everyone in Cortex Castle was wondering when Dr. Cortex and his secretary would just kiss already. They got their answer when they heard suspicious noises coming from Cortex's office that night.
What happens after that depends on the timeline. If it's the original Crash timeline, Melissa eventually marries Dr. Cortex between the events of Mind Over Mutant and Crash On the Run, never revealing her secret to him.
However, in the modern timeline? Melissa was separated from Dr. Cortex the entire time he and N. Tropy were banished. She waited years for him to come back, keeping Castle Cortex in order while she did. They only manage to reunite after Cortex somehow mysteriously ends up back on Cortex Island after the 106% ending to "It's About Time". Their reunion is emotional and passionate, but before long they're making plans to protect Cortex from the wrath of Uka Uka... but it may already be too late...

To me, Dr. N. Gin and Dr. Tropy are the smartest members of the N. Team.
Dr. Cortex is a genius, but he has so many mental and emotional issues, I feel they prevent him from reaching his full potential.
Dr. N. Brio was abused by Cortex so heavily in the past that he is now completely obsessed with him. Getting revenge on Cortex once for everything he's done isn't enough for him. He's staying with Cortex on purpose just for another chance to hurt him some more. This obsession, I feel, holds Dr. N. Brio back from reaching his full potential. He did invent the Evolv-O-Ray though, so he's smarter and more accomplished than Cortex, at least.
Dr. N. Gin had a literal nuclear missile stuck in his head, and he managed to perform brain surgery on himself in order to transform the missile into a life support system so that he didn't die from brain damage or blow up in an explosion. You have to be crazy brilliant AND resilient to pull that off. Dr. N. Gin is a brilliant little man, and a tough guy.
Dr. N. Tropy literally invented time travel. I don't need to explain how that makes him one of the smartest people on the team.

The evil trio's favorite toys at the park in childhood? (Classics, like Slides? Seesaws? Carousel? The thought is so cute to me)
Just to be clear, we're talking about Cortex, N. Brio and N. Gin, right?
N. Brio loved playing on the swings when he was little. He liked to imagine at any moment, he'd sprout wings and fly out of his seat. He's never actually attempted to give himself wings before getting on a swing set, though... it's something he still longs to try, as silly as it sounds.
N. Gin LOVED slides. Whether it was metal or plastic, hot from the sun or slightly cold from the autumn air, he loved repeatedly climbing the slide and sliding all the way back down. To be honest, N. Gin still likes going on slides, especially the really long ones you might find at a theme park.
Dr. Cortex liked the carousel as a toddler, and for those of you who don't know, it's that thing in children's parks you spin on. Cortex was actually very fond of spinning fast enough until he was dizzy. Sometimes, he'd go too fast and throw up after. Sometimes his siblings would spin him too fast on purpose... but that's something he doesn't like to talk about.

Since we unfortunately don’t get to see them interact with each other much, got any sibling Headcanons for Crash, Coco, and Crunch?
Crash, Coco and Crunch send each other memes all the time, though Crash and Coco are definitely bigger meme lords than Crunch is and are more likely to get an obscure reference.
Crunch cooks for his two siblings since Crash can't cook to save his life and eats mainly Wumpa fruit, Coco is obsessed with butter and putting butter in things, and Aku Aku wasn't even a good cook when he was alive. So, it's up to Crunch to make sure Crash, Coco and himself are fed healthy meals. It took a lot of practice, but he's actually a pretty good cook.
Crash is technically older than Crunch, but due to their blatant size difference, Crunch calls Crash his "little" brother. Coco is his little sister due to age AND size.
Crash isn't the most responsible person, as he'd usually rather be napping, but if anyone in his family wakes him up to do chores, he'll gladly do them. The sooner he gets something done, the sooner he can go back to sleep!
Coco often overworks herself on her inventions and projects, because she gets so involved and enthusiastic that she'll put off sleeping, eating, or generally taking care of herself. It's up to her brothers and Aku Aku to keep her in check, reminding her to take breaks or she'll end up just as mad as the N. Team.
Crunch is addicted to exercise and weight training, often doing intense workouts by himself if something is bothering him emotionally. Crash and Coco tend to stay away from him until afterwards, when he's cooling down, to ask him what's wrong. Sometimes, however, if it's obvious he's really upset, Aku Aku will talk to him instead.
Coco and Crunch hate Dr. Cortex for obvious reasons... but Crash doesn't. Crash sees Cortex as his evil dad: he's a bad guy, sure, and Crash is always ready to stop his evil plans... but Crash loves Cortex very much, seeing the scientist not as pure evil, but as someone who desperately needs love and understanding. And Crash is willing to provide that love in the form of uneasy alliances and furry hugs! Coco and Crunch can't understand Crash's reasoning since Cortex is just a massive jerk in their eyes, but they reluctantly accept that Crash just happens to have that big of a heart.
This is all I can come up with for now. If I think of any more, I'll post them.

Y'know, again about those family concept arts... Damn I can't stop remembering that part on Twinsanity...
"*Ladys*... MOMMY?"
UGH, I can't, that game is just everything, my golden moments is everytime Cortex is out of ammunition and he starts running around screaming, PLEASE HE GETS THE GRAMMY OF THE VIDEOGAME VILLAINS
Id be five minutes in idle frequently only to taunt the screen whenever he'd start his silly idle animations
Hot take, but I think Cortex is the best character in the entire Crash multiverse, and Twinsanity was one of his best portrayals. He's a sympathetic monster, a cowardly drama queen, a hopelessly fruity and flamboyant evil scientist who happens to realize he's a character in a video game and will even speak to to the player. Is his ability to break the fourth wall a symptom of his madness or a cause of it? Or maybe it's not madness at all, and Cortex just happens to be able to perceive what other characters in his world cannot. It's a mystery!
I'll be honest, I didn't really care about Cortex or Crash games in general until Twinsanity came along and my friend @cammiluna got me into it. I fell deeply in love with Cortex because of that game. He's so fruity, funny, and a very charismatic but silly villain. I haven't stopped loving him since. I hope I never do.

I won't lie to any of you. I'm extremely biased when it comes to Dr. Cortex's relationship with Nina. I sincerely think Cortex is her biological parent and he's hiding it from people. Yes, it is only a headcanon, but it's one I feel very strongly about.
Nina Cortex's creation comes from a time where, for some reason, it was very common for cartoon characters to have nieces and nephews, but not sons or daughters. Giving any indication that a beloved character has had sex and successfully reproduced was rare. Here's some examples from Disney: Donald Duck has three nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Mickey Mouse has two nephews, Morty and Ferdie. Daisy Duck has three nieces named April, May, and June. Minnie Mouse has two nieces named Millie and Melody. Goofy, the only father in that entire group, has a single son named Max.
Admittedly, there is charm in having Nina and her uncle's actual relationship being ambiguous, but I would love to see a big reveal where it turns out Cortex IS Nina's dad and it's been a dark family secret he's been keeping. My headcanon is that Cortex slept with one of his brothers' wives and she gave birth to Nina nine months later. Considering Cortex has been known to have relations with married women (see Crash Tag Team Racing's credit gags), it would be completely in Cortex's character to do this.
And as much as I hate the idea of Nina going through trauma discovering that the uncle who chopped her hands off is actually her father... it would be a very compelling turning point for her character. It would probably destroy her relationship with Dr. Cortex... but their relationship has never exactly been a healthy one. Maybe Cortex could learn a valuable lesson from the fallout...
It really sucks how there's so much that could be done with Crash Bandicoot characters storywise, but instead of getting actual games about that stuff, WE GET ACTIVISION AND MICROSOFT'S MONEY-HUNGRY BULLSHIT.
